Data collection and analysis
Primary and secondary are two types of data collection methods that facilitate
investigator in conducting of any type of investigation in systematic manner. In order to
gather secondary information, there are number of secondary sources including books,
articles, journals and many other sources relevant to the topic. For collecting primary
information, questionnaire will be applied. Therefore, all these are important and
valuable for doing current investigation on equality and diversity (Mackey and Gass,
2015). There are some appropriate methods that will be needed for conducting primary
and secondary research in systematic manner. These methods will be explained as
below:
Cost: This is an important and useful factor that will be needed by researcher while
doing present investigation. There are different activities that will required for completing
this investigation, these are development of aim and objectives, using of secondary
sources, using of appropriate methodologies etc. These are main activities and for this,
researcher will require proper amount of cost. For these activities, around £1100 cost
will be required by researcher. There are also some factors that also take amount of
cost such as transportation cost, internet cost etc.
Access: This is important for researcher to have proper access of collecting primary
and secondary information about the topic (McCusker and Gunaydin, 2015). In case of
primary research, investigator must have access for collecting information about the
equality and diversity to the employees of M&S. In case of secondary research,
investigator has full access to use business website and many other secondary sources
i.e. books, journals etc. Therefore, access is important for conducing both primary and
secondary research in systematic manner.
Ethical issues: This is essential for researcher to follow research ethics while
conducting primary as well as secondary research. There are several principles of
research ethics that should be following within a current study. These principles of
research ethics are: (a) acquire educated assent from potential exploration members;
(b) limit the danger of damage to members; (c) secure their namelessness and secrecy;
(d) try not to utilize beguiling practices; and (e) give members the option to pull out. All
these are important and useful for investigator to follow and complete full research in
3

ethical and systematic manner. This will help them in accomplishment of research aim
and objectives successfully (Miller and et. al., 2012).
Questionnaire: This is an important and useful instrument of collecting primary and
quantitative information about the topic (Quinlan and et. al., 2019). Main reason behind
using questionnaire for this research is it help in gathering of reliable and valid
information and also not requires maximum time of investigator. Therefore,
questionnaire of current research will be shown as below:

Apply appropriate analytical tools, analyse research findings and data.
This is a part of data analysis that facilitate investigator in evaluating of qualitative or
quantitative information regarding the specific field of study. For current investigation,
quantitative data was gathered from questionnaire that is effective for researcher in
attainment of aim and objectives of the current investigation. In order to analysis
quantitative information, there will be requirement of using analytical tool. According to
the research, frequency distribution analysis as an analytical tool will be used by
researcher. This is an effective tool of gathering quantitative informant because it not
takes maximum time and also provides valid outcomes. For using this analytical tool,
researcher will be requiring for making frequency distribution table (Riedl, Davis and
Hevner, 2014). This table includes questions along with their frequency. As it facilitate in

Research methodologies and process
Research methodology refers to the important part of research because it facilitate
investigator in collecting as well as evaluating of appropriate information regarding the
specific area of study. Main purpose of research methodology is to collect and evaluate
accurate information about the topic with motive of achieving research aim and
objectives (Silverman, 2016). There are different types of methodologies that are
essential and valuable for doing the present investigation.
Quantitative approach will be applied for business research project because it
helps in gathering of numerical and valid data within less time. This will helps
researcher in attainment of research aim and objectives successfully and within
minimum period of time. On the other hand, questionnaire was used for gathering the
quantitative information that will be essential in conducing of present as well as future
investigation in successful manner (Yahya, 2019).
Deductive approach will be applied because it is beneficial in analysing of
quantitative information effectively and timely. Therefore, deductive approach is useful
and essential in business research project. This will help in analysing of data within
minimum time and in numerical manner. Frequency distribution analysis is an essential
analytical tool as it facilitated investigator in evaluating of data in numerical manner and
in limited time.
Therefore both quantitative and deductive approach of data collection and data
analysis are useful for attaining the aim and objectives of the research in successful
manner.

Communicate the outcomes of a research project to identified
stakeholders
It is important for researcher to communicate all information to their indented
audience. According to the current study, there are different stakeholders such
employees, company, government, managers etc. All these are main stakeholders but
employees are the main that filed the questionnaire. Therefore, researcher must provide
all information regarding the research aim, objectives and many more to their indented
audience as it will help in completing of questionnaire and also attaining of valid
outcomes in effective as well as successful manner. There are some techniques that
will be essential in communicating of important information to the intended audience.
These are email, written and oral presentation, written words, spoken words, online
presentation etc. All these are more effective and useful ways that will helps investigator
in communicating of information regarding the topic (Premchandran and Priyadarshi,
2020).
There are two important techniques of research evaluation are known as formative
and summative. Formative evaluations are mainly applied within an iterative process in
order to make enhancements before production. Apart from this, summative evaluations
are basically applied to analysis a shipped product within comparison to a benchmark.
According to the present investigation, Summative technique of research evaluation will

Reflection
I am happy for getting an essential chance of doing a research over a broad topic
i.e. To analyse the impact of Equality and Diversity on work-life balance in order to
provide enriched experiences to employees.” This is a broad topic that helped me by
increasing my understanding regarding the equality and diversity and its significant in
managing work-life balance. I used different research methods that supported me in
attaining of each objective. For attaining first objective, I used both primary and
secondary method. With the help of questionnaire I collected primary data, whereas by
using books, journals etc. sources, I easily gathered secondary data that result in
accomplishment of such objective in effective manner. For attaining second objective, I
used secondary sources such as articles, books etc. This sources helped me in
accomplishment of this objective successfully. For accomplishing third objective I used
quantitative and primary method of data collection which is questionnaire. This
supported me by providing reliable and valid data within less period of time that result in
attainment of objective.
There is a option of alternative research methodology which is interview. If I get
