Section Two: Reasons for choosing this research project
Reasons for choosing the project (e.g links to other subjects you are studying, personal
interest, future plans, knowledge/skills you want to improve, why the topic is important):
Main reason behind choosing this research project or topic is to determine the issues faced by
human resource because of ineffective talent management. This is one of the main reason behind
doing of current project. Current research project is effective and significant for an organisation,
individual or industry. This research helps an me by improving different types of research skills
that are communication, time management, decision making, data collection and many others
(DREWERY, PRETTI and CHURCH, 2020). All these skills will help me in completion of full
project systematically and successfully. At professional level, with the help of current
investigation, I have opportunity for searching valuable jobs in multinational organisation.
Therefore, current investigation is essential for each and every one who have their interest in
this. By doing this research project I want to improve my different kind of skills i.e. literature
review, presentation skills, critical thinking etc.

Use of key literature sources to support your research question, objective or hypothesis:
Literature review is a process used by researcher for collecting secondary information from
various sources i.e. books, articles, publication research and many others relevant to the current
topic. Main aim of literature review within a research project is to investigate the research gap in
current study. Main gap of this research is to identify the contributions of human resource in
management of talent within a workplace. In previous investigations there were lots of data
available regarding the contributions of human resource at workplace of company, but there were

missing or insufficient information regarding the role of HR in talent management. This is a
main gap of literature and for fluffing this, research questions will be applied, which are:
What is the concept of talent management and the role of HR?
According to the Chowdhury (2021), talent management is the deliberate and conscious attempt
to engage, attract, develop and retain employees with the ability and aptitude to meet present and
future organisational needs. Management of talent can be defined as a systematic and integrated
process in human resource which is needed for satisfying, motivating, attracting and retaining
employees for longer time.
As per the view point of Erik van vulpen (2020), HR at workplace plays different roles such as
attracting candidates, talent management, compensation and benefits etc. In this, talent
management is important role of human resource that will helps them in improvement of their
personal and professional growth.
What is the major contribution of human resource at workplace of Aston Martin?
According to the Tlaiss (2020), human resource within a workplace played a different role that
are effective for an organisation. There are some essential roles of human resource at workplace
of Aston Martin. These roles will be explained as below:
Recruitment and selection: This is one of the main role of human resource within the
workplace of Aston Martin. In this role, human resource of the company become able in
recruiting and selecting of talented employees who have main purpose in attaining of business
goals and objectives in successful manner.
Training and development: This is another role of human resource that helps business
organisation in increasing of employee’s knowledge towards business. By getting training,
employees become able in performing all tasks or activities systematically.
Therefore, above mentioned all these are considering major roles of human resource that assist
business organisation in accomplishment of business goals and objectives.
How talent management practices are important for human resource of Aston Martin?
As per the view presented by Garcia-Arroyo and Osca (2019), talent management at workplace

is more important and essential for Aston Martin. There are different practices of talent
management that are important for human resource. Some will be explained as below:
Strengthens company’s human capital structure: Management of talent at workplace
strengthens organisational structure of company by building strong human capital. This will help
HR in improving of their performance that turn to impact in increment of business sales and
profitability.
Retain employees for longer time period: This is one of the main practice of talent
management that will helps human resource of Aston Martin in meeting of organisational goals
and objectives. This turn to impact in improvement of their productivity and performance within
the workplace.
Better decision making: This is another main significance of talent management that will help
human resource of Aston Martin in making better decision about business. This leads to
enhanced participative decision making through the management. It is important for HR in
improving of its decision making skill that result in professional development.
Therefore, above discussed all these are major significance of talent management that support
HR in its growth and performance.
What are the major challenges that would be facing by human resource of Aston Martin without
talent management at workplace?
According to the Berman and et. al., (2019), without talent management at workplace, there are
different challenges that would be face by HR of Aston Martin. Some major challenges will be
explained as below:
High employee turnover: This is one of the main challenge that would be facing by human
resource. This negatively impact on their performance that result in reduced productivity. This
will also effect on brand image of company because higher employee turnover is not good for
business performance.
Decreased customer base: This is another disadvantage or challenge associated with ineffective
talent management. Dissatisfied or demotivated employees not plays their all tasks in proper
manner that in higher customer turnover. This turn to impact in decreasing of business sales and

profitability.
Along with this, above mentioned all these are major challenges that impact on business
performance and growth in negative and direct impact on business performance and goodwill.
What is the importance of talent management in HR functioning?
According to the Latukha and Veselova (2019), there are different importance of the talent
management within the functioning of human resource. There are certain functions of human
resource such as performance management, learning and development etc. Along with this, some
significance of talent management in HR functioning will be explained as below:
Improve employees’ performance: This is one of the main importance of talent management.
Management of talent in the workplace support business organisation by enhancing performance
of their employees that result in higher productivity.
Reduce high employee turnover: Talent management in the working environment support
business organisation in reduction of high employee turnover. Retaining employees is a main
function of talent management that will helps companies in attainment of their long term goals
and objectives.
