INTRODUCTION
Employment skills can be define as transferable skills needed by the person in order to
improve their skill in a well define manner (Chowdhury and Miah 2019). Further it can be
elaborated as the person having good technical skills understanding the environment organisation
can perform effectively. It is an group of essential abilities that are involve the development and
knowledge base, expertises level and mindset which are crucial for success in the modern
workplace. This report is based on NHS UK and its headquater is located in Richmond house
London England. The company was formed in year 1948 on 5 July and provide various services
in health care as well as social care. Beside this it covers about the different responsibilities as
well as performance of the individual within the organisation. Along with this, communication is
important in the organisation and it should to be done in a proper manner which help reducing
conflicts. There must be effective time management which help in improving productivity of the
organisation. At last the report covers about the appropriate strategies which are used for
resolving power.
TASK1
1.1Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
For the house cleaner of NHS the major duties are centred as well as limited in the
hospital to keep surrounding neat and clean. Along there hospital cleaner ensure all the area
which include examination hall, surgery rooms, laboratories must be clean and make sure that
they are germs free. The house clear plays an vital role in making environment of the hospital
look effective and attractive. Hence there are other duties which include mopping, vacuum and
sweeping floors, cleaning windows and dusting furniture, washing and changing linens on
patients' beds, and ensuring that all waste is disposed of properly. Here are some roles and
responsibility of the house cleaner which are explained down below:
Safety and sanitation: A hospital environment requires special attention to the safety as
well as sanitation for the patients. The cleaner have the responsibility to apply safety method of
handling the equipments and chemicals as they are toxic in nature. The NHS house cleaner
should follow all the rules ans regulation for example washing down along with sanitization of
furniture and equipments.

Basic skills: NHS hospital cleaner must have the ability to perform general housekeeping
task, such as cleaning the rooms, hallways, offices and public areas. Along with there are some
other job roles which include emptying the trash can, changing the beds and linens for the new

furniture and know how to use vacuum cleaner and floor waxing equipments.
Organisational abilities : Hospital cleaner have the roles of cleaning and but they lack in
organisation ability which help them to accomplish the task effectively. For the hospital like
NHS the cleaner should have sense of organisation ability in order for smooth functioning of
firm. For example, if the doctors are in the room conducting the operations so cleaner must delay
the cleaning until the job in finished. As this will help in improving the performance of the
doctors and staff effectively.
Performance objective
ď‚· The performance objective of the house cleaner that they should be provocative and hard-
working. In the context of NHS hospital the company the cleaners must setup the
remarkable competences in the making environment neat and clean.

discuses report the customers must be proactive as this is one of best technique to do work in
efficient manner. The cleaner of the NHS hospital must be active listener and pay full attention
to what the senior says about the work. They must do their job with full responsibility and
dignity in performing their activity effectively. Hospital cleaner have ability to follow the norms
and the procedure in keeping the hospital environment neat and clean .
The cleaner must provide full attention in the hospital environment as patient may not be
the one who notice problems it is the cleaner who have the responsibility to alert the
management about the risk which is associated with the hospital environment. Having good
interpersonal skills as well as communication skills are the important factor which help in

creating positive and healthy work culture in the hospital. Beside this it also help in improving
the performance and which leads towards expansion and growth. This is also important for the
hospital cleaner to have strong organisation skills. They are the most important to manage the
work and help in developing strong bond in the minds of the customers. Hence the hospital
cleaner must be aware about their roles and responsibility and avoid unethical practises because
it is the matter of death and life for the patients.
1.3 Make recommendations for improvement
Work from clean and dirty area: One of the biggest mistakes which is done in the
modern cleaning is the usually form the lobby to waiting area. So in the case of NHS hospital the
cleaner must go the room which are vacant to the sick patients. There so many changes of
spreading the disease causing soils from emergency wards so in this case the vacuum and rages
must be clean and sanitize properly which prevent the dirt and unhygienic bacteria to effect the
environment.
Wear gloves properly: The improper use of gloves can easily spread the bacteria
effectively. The health and protection and promotion recommend the different techniques in
order to control and contaminate the decease from spreading the decease effectively. The NHS
have the responsibility to provide gloves and other safety equipments which are requires for
maintaining the standard of making use of their roles and responsibility.
Limit air pollution: Since there are so many biological hazard in the healthcare
facilitates which include trash bags which develop lot of waste in the nature. So the hospital like
NHS the management have the responsibility to use proper management system and educate the
cleaners how to use the trash bags for the recycle. To keep the bacteria out the hospital and the
cleaner take roll soiled bedclothes away from the body before placing and make sure that they
are not thrown in the lines bars. Hence this is essential for the company to provide better services
to the cleaner which help in improving the moral and work power effectively.
1.4 How motivational techniques can be used to improve quality performance
Motivation techniques are used to drive the individual to work together in order to
achieve the desire goal and objectives. Many organisation use this theory because it help in
encourage individual for achieving the target and leads towards the using proper uses of
resources in a well define manner. They comes with the intrinsic and extrinsic factor which
facilitates organisation to determine the personality of the employees. In the context of NHS

hospital it is important for the management to have motivation theory to make employees more
effectively in their work as it help them work together and help in motivating to achieve the
target successfully. Here are some motivational techniques which are used for NHS are been
specified as under:
Theory X: In this kind of theory explain the individual personality which explain that
employees are demotivated and tries to escape the roles and responsibilities. So in this case the
NHS hospital management must take effective measure such as providing monetary benefits
which help them to motivate towards working and achieving the target.
Theory Y: In this kind of motivation theory the employees perform their work

during my tenure working with the hospital. Here are some problems which are discussed down
below:

many rotational shifts which become hectic for the employees to perform activities
effectively.
ď‚· It has been identified that there were lack of communication and as well leadership
approach which hamper the organisation growth as well as profit.
Solution for the problems:
For the solution for the above statement related to the issue , I suggest them to take
proper feedbacks and conduct training and personality development session which help to
evaluate the performance of the individual and help to improving the organisation productivity in
a well define manner.

It is simply the act of transferring information from place to another the individual or
group of people. Every communication involves sender and receiver which include emotions,
culture situation. In the context of NHS hospital, the management must make sure about the
structure as well as communication effectively. Communication can be practised in a number of
ways which have further been stated as under:
Verbal communication: The verbal communication include face to face where both the
parties communicate orally. This is the type of communication where manages usually give
instruction to the employees regarding their job roles and individual performance. This kind of

Time management is the process of planning and exercising the time which the
employees spends upon the specific activities with the purpose of increasing the effectiveness as
well as productivity. This kind of strategies are used for gain success in a well define manner.
Down there are various kind of time management strategies which are useful for NHS hospital
are explained down below:
Have a dynamic task list: It is important for every organisation to have note down the
task and activities and prepare a list of the daily activities. In the case of NHS hospital
management must ensure about keeping all the records of employees daily activities and make
changed for improving the performance with the help of evaluation. Along with this proper

management can implement 5 day working system and break system during the work. This
