INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is defined as a process to monitor and control the needs of
human resources in the organisation. This report is based on the case study of Wisdom Limited
regarding its human resource management. The organisation is based in United Kingdom and
operates its business operations in retail sector. Company serve its business functions all across
the globe. This report will summarise about different work practices in respect to human
resource management at the Wisdom Limited Company. Henceforth, report will analyse about
the mission statement of the Wisdom Limited in the beginning of the file. Aim of the report is
also to project the roles and responsibilities associated with the human resource management
department in the Wisdom Limited. Approaches used by human resource management in
Wisdom Limited in regards to work force planning, recruitment and selection, employee
development and training, performance management and reward system. Furthermore, report
will emphasis on different aspects related to recruitment and selection associated with the
company. Employment legislation will also be explained in precise manner in this report.

To achieve the best consumer experience from the products and services.

To dominate in the retail sector all across the globe.

HR Functions and Key Roles and Responsibilities
Human resource management is a function which involves addressing the need of the
organisation in respect to the human resources in company.
HR Functions
Functions human resource departments needs to conduct can be summarises in following
points.
Recruitment and selection: Human resource department of the Wisdom Limited needs to cope
up with different positional needs in the organisation hierarchy of the organisation. HR
Department conducts different recruitment and selection process to meet the human resource
needs of the organisation. Department follow both internal recruitment process and external
recruitment process as a part of its functional role (Crawshaw and et.al., 2020). On the basis of
the requirements of different designated positions department conducts the entire process of
recruitment and selection. This is an important function that human resource departments play in
the Wisdom Limited. Due to effective recruitment and selection process Human Resource
Department has improved the significance of different designated positions associated with the
organisation. Department played an effective role by providing skilled human resources at
different designated positions in the organisation.
Training and development: Human Resource Department play an effective role in providing
training to the work force of the Wisdom Limited. This is also a key functional role Human
Resource Department needs to play in an organisation. On the basis of the needs and
requirements of different designated positions in organisation Human Resource Departments
conducts different skill development training programs to enhance the potential capabilities of
company’s man power (Reiche and et.al., 2018). Skill improvement plays a key role in
improving growth perspective of employees. Human Resource Department in Wisdom Limited
also conducts employee development activates in company. Employee development activities
involve enhancing mental capabilities of employees. This involves conducting employee
bonding and motivation sessions in organisation. With the support of both skill and employee
development activities Human Resource Department ensure effective growth and development
opportunities for employees associated with the organisation.
