INTRODUCTION
The existing conditions of retail market are too competitive and all organisations
whether local or international are facing intense and cut-throat competition. So to retain and
sustain for longer period it is essential for an organisation to develop a competitive edge that
leads management to generate tough competition for rival organisation. Employee’s is an
important asset that is framed by each enterprise for managing diverse workforce in organisation.
For understanding this report Morrison’s is one of the largest retail organisation in UK and it
complete their overall operations with the engaging employees that are different in gender, race,
religion etc. Further, the report highlights on objective as well as aim that are related with
workforce. Project tools such as Gantt chart and WBS will also included in this report (Al-Bayati
and et. al., 2017). In the last, small scale research is conducted for collecting relevant information
from respondents.
TASK 1
P1 Aim and objectives
With the involvement of globalisation among all organisation and industry it is identified
that working conditions, operations and functions of business are impacted. Similarly, with
global aspect individuals are also receiving jobs from different geographical areas. This results
that the difference in culture, language etc. is faced by each employees and organisation both. In
context of Morrison’s management operate its stores beyond their local market (D'Netto and et.
al., 2014). Therefore, diversity in employees is also faced by Morrison’s that is resolved by
organisation by framing strategy and initiative related with diversity.
Project- The term project is defined as the series of action and activities which complete all task
of the project in an organised manner. Projects are delegates to specific teams for the completion
of task in decided time period through utilising available resources for completing project with
low cost and in specified time.

Project management- This is defined as managing and completing of project by monitoring its
start point and deciding steps till the end of project for achieving the decided target in an
appropriate manner (Mathews, 2015).

To boost the knowledge of individuals about diversity in work-culture of an organisation.
To study and determine diverse workforce strategy for analysing overall efficiency of
employees.
For understanding positive outcomes after implement of equality initiative in the
organisation.

A document is known as project management plan if it undertakes each phase of project
such as risk, quality, resources etc. and implements them in planning, executing, monitoring and
controlling for completion of research in an organised manner. The main role of project
management plan is to accomplish organisation goals in an easy manner for completing work in
a competitive world (Meyer, Morrison and Zuniga, 2017). Moreover, it helps to ascertain project
outcomes by communicating and align all phases in an organised manner.
All the essential aspects of project management plan are explained as beneath. Scope- With analysis of project scope it is identified that employees and other resources
are utilised properly for completing organisational task with decided standards. All data
which is gathered leads to attain accurate and right results in a competitive market by
managing project that leads in attaining organisational objectives by understanding
skills and capabilities of workforce. So the scope of diversity initiative is wide and
helps to complete research in an appropriate manner. Communication- Researcher attained desire results by adopting free flow of
communication. With use of transparent and proper communication channel all team
members easily transfer and share relevant information that is used for attaining
meaningful results from research (Okçu, 2014). Moreover, with use of transparent
communication system all projects are conducted in the open market. Additionally, to

provide equal opportunity communication is also required by researcher which is used
for making audio, video and written to complete operations on daily basis in less time
period. Resources- For conducting research in an effective manner it is identified that there are
various resources like, human capital, books, magazine and financial aspect are
required for completing the research with more efficiency and effectiveness. Along
with this all resources are gathered because it leads researcher for completion of
research study with more productivity. Further, laptop and mobile phones are most
important resources to work in an efficient manner. Communication matrix- The term communication matrix is defined as an effective
assessment tool that is used for designing better structure and it leads researcher to
complete all project in an efficient manner through making better flow of information
and it leads individuals in completion of task with desired goals and objectives.
Moreover, communication matrix also helps persons to make effective decisions by
providing right information to right individuals at right time. Cost- For expanding or increasing research effectiveness in a cut throat competition it is
analysed by researcher that cost plays an important role for completing the project in an
accurate manner (Phillips and et. al., 2016). This also governs that lack of funds reduce
the overall efficiency of research and in context of this research the decided cost is
£250 that is used in paying transport fees, printing expenses and purchase of paper to
conducts research in proper manner. Time- Time is an important tool that is used to generate competitive edge in market and
it refers that by scheduling all activities researchers is able to generate better results by
completing project activities in minimum time period. Along with this all team
members is also focused in developing tactics which leads to finish project properly and
help to gain right results from research. Quality- For collecting all essential information primary method of data collection is
used by researcher that leads in completing research with good quality. The main aim
of using quality aspects is to generate positive results from research. Moreover,
researcher focuses on quality perspective because it helps manage overall project
efficiency (Syed, 2020). Quality control chart is an effective tool which is utilised by

organisation for presenting all information in a graphical form so it is easy to state
specification of project.
Risk- At the time of assigned work and project task the major risk which interrupt the
research are the insufficient funds, no response from respondents and challenges which
reduces the quality of project, Further, research quality of project is also impacted due
to which it is complex to undertake essential project from projects. Researcher develop
skills specifically communication and analytical to overcome from different risk
factors.
P3 Explanation about work-break down structure and Gantt chart
Gantt chart- The project tool which is known as Gantt chart is used by the organisation
for formulating right schedule for each project activity. It is also effective because it leads
management to demonstrate relationship within all activities and action in order to complete
project with right schedule (Turner and et. al., 2016). Moreover, all required and essential
information which is related with company task and research phase are utilised in all project
activities for completing research actions in minimum time period.
Work-break down structure- WBS is a best project tool which leads organisation to
delegate and divide a complex project into small units (Uygur and Aydin, 2015). The main
motive to use the method of work-break down structure is to execute and simplify all project
activities into managerial chunks that complete all project by assigning role and responsibilities
