Training and development plays most important role in the modern era within the
workplace as it allows staff members to carry out all the operations of business in proper manner.
Further, it supports to focus on the major areas where employees are not performing better. The
present investigation possesses the aim that is to evaluate the impact of training and development
on the employees’ performance: in context of Hilton hotel. Descriptive research design has been
used and the research is of qualitative nature. Further, sample size of 20 employees has been
undertaken and data has been analyzed through qualitative tools where different themes have
been formed. From the entire research, it can be concluded that training and development has an
important part of the organization. It is an educational process which involves the sharpening of
skills, concepts, changing of attitude of the staff. With the help of different training and
development methods such as on the job, off the job etc, company has delivered the right training
to the staff.

favorable results for the organization in every possible manner (Pollock, Wick and Jefferson,
2015). Therefore trained and qualified personnel demonstrates effective behavior that leads to
enhancement of customer satisfaction. This has result in increasing the loyalty in relation to
hotel. Investment in training and development programs has started to increase in companies so
that staff members can easily satisfy requirement of the target market in best possible manner.
Absence of effective program has adverse impact on the overall performance of company and
due to this reason concept of training and development is getting popular.
Background of the study
The role of training and development of personnel is suitable practice that acts as an aid
for the executive in increasing the knowledge of the employees to a significant level. There is
immense requirement for training and development as it facilitates in increasing their job
performance in relation with the job. By the means of providing facilities relating with training
the employees can perform to their best that can acts as an aid in attainment of the organizational
goal (Uttal and et.al., 2013). Training and development possess suitable role in making
delegation of several job to the personnel. In this respect for Hilton hotel the role of its
employees is significant as they represent the organization before customers. It is important that
suitable opportunities for training and development is required to be provided so that personnel

the field for the research project. The subject area that has broader scope is being chosen
by the researcher for carrying out investigation. There is presence of wider scope of
present research on impact of training and development. Therefore due to this the
particular topic is being selected by the researcher for investigation.
 Limited number of investigation on particular topic: This is another factor that help in
selecting the research project. This is related with the number of researches that are being

analysis would be employed. In this regard several themes would be developed based
upon developing questions asked to the employees of hotel by means of questionnaire.
 Sampling: The sample chosen for present investigation is 20. The selection of sample is
done on random basis. This implies use of probability sampling technique would be done.

For the purpose of preparation of plan regarding proposed investigation the tool that is
Gantt chart will be implemented. This tool would act as an aid for the researcher in developing
and designing the appropriate steps for carrying out the investigation on specific topic with

manner. Further, for data collection questionnaire has been employed which is an effective mode
of collection information as such it would assist in carrying out in-depth analysis of the views of
the employees towards training and development in enhancing their performance.

It has been analyzed from the responses of the employees of the Hilton hotel that
majority of the respondents agrees with the view that business provides opportunity relating with
training and development to the personnel. It has been believed by the personnel that company
