I INTRODUCTION
The paper is used for the critical review of the UWEFlix Cinema Booking System. The
Porters five Force Modelling system is used for the review of the cinema booking system of
the organization. The framework is a knowledge based framework and hence the evaluation
technique would be apt for any type of booking system. The report provides the information
about the evaluation criteria and evidence of the evaluation with some illustration for the
understanding have been provided in the report.
2 EVALUATION CRITERIA
The porters Five forces model has been selected for the evaluation of the system.
The Porter's five forces are:
Competitive rivalry among existing organizations.
The threat of new entrants to the industry.
Bargaining power of customers
Bargaining power of suppliers
Threat of substitutes from another industry
According to the model the pressure on the UWEFlix organization might increase due
to the increase in the pressure of the market however with the analysis the main drawbacks
of the system in accordance with the market can be easily obtained.
3 EVIDENCE (WITH EXAMPLE ILLUSTRATIONS)
AND ANALYSIS
Analysis of the system by evaluation criteria
The analysis of the ‘UWEFlix” Cinema Booking System according to the Porters Five
Force Model is provided below:
Competitive rivalry among existing organizations:
The competitive rivalry among the other organization that are already existent is not
applicable in the case of this system. This is because there are no current competitors of the
organization in the present moment of time. However the main completion of the system is
with the existing system within the company. Hence, it can be easily said that the new system
would be more efficient in comparison to the old system as they would be able support a
large amount of seating capacity within the cinema also the system would allow around 2500
bookings in a single day.

From the Analysis made it can be very easily understood that the development of the
information system would help the organization in increasing their efficiency and thus help
them in gaining a higher position in the market.
The threat of new entrants
The UWEFlix can face competition from the companies that can come up in the
future and hamper the business of the company. Other cinema that provide facilities for the
students can come up and hamper the market of the company.
Analysing the threat of new entrants
We the analysis it can be said that company is looking to develop the information
system for the booking system of the company and this would help the organization to keep
up to the place that they hold in the market currently.
The bargaining power of customers
The bargaining power of customer provides the information about the extent to which
the customer can bargain about the value of the service provided by the UWEFlix
organization.
Analysing the bargaining power of customers
The main customers of the organizations are the students and the normal customers.
However the prices of the tickets are same for the students, but for the university clubs the
tickets are provided at a discounted price if the tickets are purchased at advanced stage.
The bargaining power of suppliers
The bargaining power of the suppliers can involve pressurizing the organization by
raising the price of the product for their own benefit.
Analysing the Bargaining Power of your Suppliers
The supplier power analysis provides information about the price of the suppliers
however, in the case of UWEFlix the bargaining power of the suppliers would not be valid to
a huge extent as the suppliers are involved with the major business procedures to a huge
extent.
Threat of substitutes from another industry
The threat faced by a company for them to be substituted by another organization that
would hamper the growth of the company in that particular sector.
Analyzing the threat of substitutes from another industry
For the UWEFlex Organization there are no competitors currently. This is because the
type of business the organization handles is not done by any of their competitors and hence,
there are no scope that the organization would be hampered by the threat of being substituted.
