1. Strength: the biggest strength of the Wesfarmers is the notion of E-commerce that
provides the 24*7 operation of the business process. It is followed toward the
organization of global business from anywhere across the global. All the services and
products of the organization reaches to the customer directly from producer in the
lower rate. One of the significant aspect of the Wesfarmers is that it is very fast and its
efficiency in the business operations. It is better as compare to the tradition business
operation. In addition to this, advertisement is also proved to be effective for
communication with the customers. Social media is also proved to be the effective
example of communication strategy. Similarly, Wesfarmers has also adopted the
social media as the ideal platform in order to develop the different kind of
communication procedure (Stanton, 2016).
2. Weaknesses: The major weakness of the Wesfarmers communication strategy is that
it does not communicate directly with the sellers as buyers. In addition to this, the
application of E-commerce is not too much clear from the side of sellers and buyers.
It is because there are customers who prefer to buy the goods personally (Effing and
Spil, 2016). There are times; cost of transportation tends to increase the cost of
products. It is because many of the customers prefer home delivery that increases the
original cost of its products. Besides this, weak marketing image, inadequate financial
capacity are some of the weakness of the E-commerce.
3. Opportunities- In recent time, the use of internet has been increased to a greater
extent. Therefore, the adequate sue of E-commerce can be done by Wesfarmers. The
essential point that is required to be analyse are the most of the buyer tends to prefer
the online shopping as well as the E-commerce services as compare to the traditional
mode of marketing. Besides this, improvement in the technology and the growing
demand of quality are the two examples of the opportunities available for Wesfarmers
(Palese and Usai, 2018).
4. Threats: It is true that competition has increased on a larger scale that proves to be the
major threat for its communication strategies. In addition to this, several privacy and
security issues are also attached with the communication strategies. There is also the
possibility of leakage of information to the other parties who are involved in the
