INTRODUCTION
Employment relationship can be stated as the legal link among employees and employer. It
takes place when an individual perform work under certain circumstances in return for
remuneration. This relationship is based on a contract and an agreement between the parties
(employee and employer) with some mutual obligations to work as well as pay for the work.
Having good employment relationship is very necessary in order to lead organisation towards
success. Marks & Spencer is a British multinational retailer established in year 1884 by Michael
Marks and Thomas Spencer. The headquarters of the firm is located in London, United Kingdom
and it offers clothing, home and food products to customers.
This report discusses about value and significance of employee relations along with the
fundamentals of employment law. It also includes different types of duties, obligations and rights
an employee and employer has in the workplace and the way to manage employment
relationship. Apart from this, stakeholder analysis and the way stakeholder engagement and

efforts of organisation - or Human Resource department - which manage that relationship.
Employee relation is a very crucial aspect when it comes to the performance of organisation as
good relationship between employees translates into increased wellbeing of employees.
