INTRODUCTION
Working with and leading people is a concept which is used by a person who have the
willingness of become a leader in a organization. It is the duty of a leaders to analyses the needs
and demands of the new person regarding his training and development needs. The entire report
is based on Purple Mail Company (PMC), which is one of the largest courier firm of UK (About
us., 2016). The company is currently facing the problem of failure of leadership, poor
management and administrative problems which results in low profitability of the organization.
The company is also facing losses from the past few years. Apart from this, customer are also
facing problems due to poor management of staff members. The report highlights the
documentation for selecting and recruiting a new employees. Other than this, Impact of legal,
regulatory and ethical considerations are also described which helps PMC to take care about this
issues while making hiring process of the company. In addition to this, my contribution in the
selection and recruitment process is also elaborated (Teamwork Guide - Southern Cross
University. 2012). Other than this, styles and impact of leadership on the improvement of the
staff is also evaluated which helps to analyse the importance of the good leadership skills.
Different leadership style are also described which helps to analyse the different leadership styles
which are used for different organizational situations.
TASK 1
1.1) Documentation towards selection and recruitment process
For making good strategic decisions it is important to recruit skilled and experienced
workforce. For making hiring process more effective PMC should take care about preparing
effective documentation for the business which helps the company to recruit good staff members. Description of job profile: PMC should make full description of the desired job profile to
the candidates which includes title of job, who has the charge of recruiting people his
name and contact details and also the position and purpose of the vacant profile (Bernard
and et. al., 2015). PMC have to describe the full information of job to the desired
candidates. Specification of person: This information deals with the profile which is required for the
job. The criteria should be pre decided, so it is easy to look for the candidates who are

actually deserving the job (Laumer, Maier and Eckhardt, A., 2015). This includes
requirement from the candidates profile, experience and qualifications pf the candidate.
Document required when selecting and recruiting a new staff
It is the duty and responsibility of the recruiting team to check all the required document
while making selection and recruitment of new employees in the PMC. Following documents are
required for making section and recruitment healthy. Qualification Certificate: PMC should must check the qualification certificates of the
candidate who is willing to get. This will ensure that whether the person has the
qualification or not which is must fort he job (Greiner, 2015). Experience certificate: If the job position need any kind of experience, it is necessary for
the recruiting team to check the certificate of experience of the candidates (Panke-Buisse
and et.al., 2015). This will help PMC to find desired candidate for the vacant job profile
of the company.
Other relevant certificate: Apart from all the above, PMC should work on checking
other relevant documents such as identity proofs and its original copy. This will enable
the employer that candidate is from the same nation or have no legal offense.
1.2) Impact of legal, regulatory and ethical considerations to recruitment and selection process
This factors deals with the legal and ethical issues which are involved in recruiting of
new employees. This issues have to be take care by the PMC while selecting new candidates for
the job profile. Certain acts are there which protects employee and the candidates towards
unethical happenings at the workplace. Employment protection act, 1978: This act defines the terms of contract of employment
which deals with prohibiting any type of harassment and pressure on the employees at the
workplace. It is related with title of job, terms of payment, holidays, termination of job
and procedure of employee complaints (Liang, Nontasak and Pongsabutr, 2015). Sex discrimination act, 1975: This act is related with discriminating men and women
according to their gender. This act prohibits the employer to make discrimination in the
pay scale of the employees due to their gender. Discriminating employees is considered
as unethical practices at the work place which will be not accepted (Dubey, Gunasekaran
and Ali, 2015). The sex discrimination act both sex from direct and indirect
