Tesco plc is British multinational grocery and general merchandise retail company. It is
one of the largest retail company in UK. It has store in more than 8 countries and leader retail
company in UK. There are various types of operations which are conducted by company in its
retail business such as Tesco extra, Tesco supermarket etc. All such types of operations are
conducted by company in daily operations. The organization is also offers its services through
internet retail which helps to them for gathering more customers in their business. It is
international expansion strategy has responded to the need to be sensitive to local expectations in
other countries by entering into joint ventures with local partners. The market share of company
is more than 30% in UK which make it number one retail organization in UK. The present report
is based on the working with leading people in context to Tesco.
Human capital inherent part of organization. In wholesale organisation this is the right to
every individual to bargain and thus, retail marketing assists the business to gain more the price
of each product should be lower than as compared to whole sale price so that customers can
easily buy the product (Adhish, Deshmukh and Kumar, 2014). The present report make analysis
on Tesco and it's recruiting process. It also includes the various types of ethical consideration
which effects selection process. Apart from it, it makes analysis on various skills which should
be there to be an effective leader. Further this report includes all different types of theories of
leadership which should be followed by every leader to perform better in any organisation At

Tesco is retail company and conducting their business operation from UK. There are
various types of laws and regulation which apply on the company (Hosking, 2015). These laws
are statutory in nature so for company it is compulsory to follow it. Following are the legal and
ethical consideration which may effects selection process of company.
Sex discrimination Act, 1957
As according to this act, each and every company need to be select candidates on the
basis of their qualification and skills. In business firm need to focuses on the give equal chance
to their candidates without discrimination. Tesco select their candidates on the basis of their
qualification and skills. The impact of this law is that the firm need make separate polices for
their recruiting process (Bush and Middlewood, 2013).
Minimum wages rate Act, 1998
As according to this act, every individual who is employed by other person has right to

After conducting interview, the next step which I take is that I short listed candidates for
the final selection. In this process I take those applicants which are short listed. I form

empty places. Apart from it, I also utilise various kinds of approaches such as to identify their IQ
level, conduct their written exams and after then conducts individual interrogation.
