INTRODUCTION
Social psychology is a study of individual and group behaviour that influences the
presence and behaviour of others (Meagher, 2020). Social psychology also helps to
understand organizational behaviour. The organisation aim to understand the worker belief
and value and how they help an organisation. This report aims to analyse a case study of
work palace bullying, Counterproductive Behaviour. In this report, we will cover how social
psychology will help to understand organisational behaviour. In addition to this report, we
also cover some potential benefits of the decision-making of the employee.
MAIN BODY
Demonstrate your understanding of how social psychology can help explain organisational
behaviour in the context of the case study.
Social psychology is a study of individual and group behaviour that influences the
presence and behaviour of others. Social psychology explores the power of thought or
perception of a person and emotional connection (Yaremych and Persky, 2019). Psychology
studies how people thought beliefs, feelings, goals and intentions are constructed within the
context of a social term. Human behaviour influences other people's behaviour. Social
psychology can help to understand organisational Behaviour
In the organisation, various people work and they come from different cultures,
beliefs, and values and their perception is also different. In the organisation, my people work
as workgroup those companies a task given by the organisation. Effective workgroups come
into force when all people live together and work according to given by the leader. Effective
workgroup increased the level of innovation, speed and improved quality of the product.
Effective workgroups are made when there is no workplace conflict, stress, or bullying
among the people. This is when the environment of the workplace is good and there are no
clashes in the organisation. Many organisations work in this direction in the effort to make a
good environment. Social psychology can help to understand organisational behaviour and in
this direction, many companies work they give incentives, the reward for appreciation of
workgroup because of appreciation employee work for this achievement and employee work
with own pleasure.
Many organisation employees face bad behaviour or they treated very badly. They
face bullying behaviour in the organisation (Anvari and et.al., 2019). Bullying involves

situations where people are subjected and negotiated over a long period the victim in this
situation not protected themselves in front of others. In this situation, many people leave
their job and many workers feel distressed, humiliation reduced the performance of the job.
Several organisations have counterproductive behaviour exit in the workplace that time
employees feel frustration, aggression, and humiliation. Employees feel aggression and
frustration because of this company productivity is low and company effectiveness is also
down. There are many problems in the organisation that are faced by an employee it hits the
employee's mindset they do not do effective work their performance is reduced day by day.
By these negative behaviours, every organisation face various challenges their production is
down. The company turnover ratio is high and the company's reputation is low in the market
because this competitive company increases its production and increases reputation in the
market.
In this situation, the company use social psychology to understand why reduced the
effective née of the company's performance (Schimmack, 2020). The use of psychology
every company to understand the change in the behaviour of the employee in the
organisation. Social psychology focuses on the individual and social environment. Social
psychology focuses on anthropogenic activity which is mainly done by employees in the
organisation. Sometimes organisation behaviour is so bad in the context of the people. They
feel negotiated in the organisation they face bullying behaviour towards them. Conflict-
related bullying when occurring in where highly escalated environment. With the help of the
social psychology organisation easily understand the employee's conflict. By the use of social
psychology, the company understand the employee problem. Top executives work in this
direction they built an environment where there is no conflict. Social psychology is the best
option that is used by every company to understand the employee belief, their values they
come from different backgrounds. Understanding these Point Company does work in this
direction.
Analyse the potential conflicts, co-operation and decision-making in the generational shifts
observed in the organisation, using your knowledge of social psychology.
Organisation conflict is a workplace conflict. The misunderstanding of individuals
and groups within the organisation. Two people interact conflict occurs when opinions are
not matched that time conflict arises (Rahal and Fiedler, 2019). The employee didn’t respect
each other if there is a lack of clarity. The main source of conflict inadequacy of resources
like time, money, and material. Conflict arises when interpersonal issues arrive. When

generation shifts various problems come because old people work on a traditional method
they did not work according to the task given. New technology and innovation are not
adopted due to this conflict occurring. Due to the generation shift, people do not talk to each
other they think they are much more talented. So that will create ego in these people and they
harm other people feeling. In this context, conflict arises in the generation gap new comers do
not listen to old strategies. Old Method is so much vested in time that they cannot use.
The new generation adopts new technology but they can’t involve old people in work
because they did not do this work. Due to the generation shift conflict arrive because in the
technology world they hire a skilled employee they did not hire those employees which do
not know work. Conflict occurs in the working place due to generation shift it is very normal
in any organisation (Verkuyten, 2018). Tension is often due to generation differences but in
some places, the generation shift is so good at the place manager. As per new study notice
that at the place of manager and CEO there are placed old peoples who experience of their
field. CEO of a company comes at the age of the third generation but they achieve this post
by doing work in this sector. Generation shift is beneficial or big post. They have hired very
experience people because they work in this direction. In social psychology, there will be
beneficial for the company to hire third-generation people. They think according to their
experience.
Cooperation
There are many reasons why cooperation did not occur in the organisation. When
individual differences are more than in the organisation, perception is not matched. There are
several reasons for no cooperation in organisation. When in organisation cooperation is not
developed between team members it increases unproductive competition. Increasing the lack
of cooperation among the team member will decrease the company's effectiveness. The
company did not achieve the organisation's goal without cooperation.
Generation shift increases cooperation in the organisation. Those people give the right
direction they increase the cooperation in the organisation (Fricker and et.al., 2019).
Generation Z is working on the 20% in the workplace. The younger generation creates
innovation and creativity in the workplace. But they didn’t understand the cooperation and
interaction. In this case, generating Z play a vital role they increase cooperation power in the
organisation and creating an environment where all people are working at this stage.

knowledge. Generation Z experiences but the younger generation has innovation when they
coordinate they work effectively and increase company productivity.
Decision making
When organisation safer from conflict and bullying behaviour in the organisation then
leader can’t give any decision to team member. It is the integral part of the management
when there are lot of problem occur when organisation face conflict and that time
management not take decision. Generation shift play wonderful role in this regards they have
lots of experience to reduce the conflict in the organisation. The value learning from superior
is so hard for the younger people Mentorship program available at place of work group.
Younger people use program to retain in company if they learn from superiors this so much
good for younger they adopt various thing from superior (Heng and et.al., 2018). Decision
making in generation shift is quite wrathful because they have lot experience and they
encourage people. Younger people much have ability to adapt the change they use digital
platform for business development. It’s possible to evolve the shifting generation landscape
to hold company mission and vision. The business change every day with this shift and
company health depends on the managing. Decision making in the organisation is very tough
situation because people work according to the decision so that decision taken for seeing
situation. Every organisation deal with generation shift this so common in the organisation so
that company make some policy for generation shift. Every generation people work in the
organisation and they take decision according to the task.
Critically analyse the relationships between the different generations in the context of their
perceptions of inequality, fairness and discrimination within the organisation.
Perception of inequality
For so many eras inequalities is in process of organizations, no matter it happens to
men, women & senior persons also, it happens in different types. Every organization wants
their employees will perform their tasks in a good manner, every employee wants their team
leader & managers will be very creative, innovative, kind, experienced in new technologies,
etc. so they can give & suggest the better & easiest way to achieve their goals. For example,
A team has 10 members & this team is handled by a senior experienced person, suddenly the
company hires the young men for the post of senior manager, in this case, the manager will
face the inequality because he is not promoting to the senior post against this company hires
the new employee for the post & team members also faces the problem because manger &

senior manager have their different thought & they are clashes, but in end, there is a loss of
organization.
Perception of fairness & discrimination
Fairness & discrimination are also playing a very important role in every organization
because most of the time managers & team leaders will take the credit for the employees,
they don’t want to promote their team members, or they just want to create the image in the
front of managers & management (Baumeister and Bushman, 2020). For example, A is
handing this team of 25 members, there are 5 groups & they all are performing a different
task. The task is performed by the group 1 members & by chance the result is positive in that
case manager or team leader will do discriminate with the employees, they take the
employees credit, just because to create a good & honourable image in front of others & there
are so many more examples or reason that they do discriminate with others, one more
example In so many organizations they do discriminate in between of men & women, if any
women join the organization so many members of their they start bulling, spreading the fake
rumours, bulling on their gesture, taunting about their behaviour because of this so many
employees it will male or female will resign their job because in this atmosphere nobody can
work for the organization.
Organizations are not doing fair with their employees because in every organization
there are so many senior people who are working in the same organization for 10-15 years,
they are good in decision making & team handing but they are not that much aware of the
technology like they are so many software which makes the work easier, it will save the time
also. In this case, organizations will have to provide the training & small session to the all
senior employees about the software or technology that they are adopting & how to use,
instead of the organization is hiring the new employees for the same & senior post. They are
discriminating & fair both because the organization's new employees will guide the whole
team, & this decision will create the problem for the organization.
CONCLUSION
As per the above discussion, social psychology is the study of individuals and groups
of people. In the organisation, various workers work they have different psychology and
belief, values. So that when their belief and value are not matched with those of a co-worker
then conflict arrives. Conflicts arrive when the leader does not give tasks according to worker
potential. Workgroups experience a higher level of conflict and bullying behaviour. This is

when a generation shift occurs sometime younger people don’t understand the superior why
gives this task to them. Every organisation face these type of challenge in the environment so
this reduces when the organisation make some policies for the victim employee. Effective
workgroups come into force when they reduced conflict and increase the productivity level.
