Answer 1.
In every organization, the performance of the organization is inked with human resource
management. In HRM practices, strategies are required to be focused on creating value in the
internal functions as it helps in increasing the competitive edge in the industry. The business
must link the operational structure with the organizational culture and objectives of the business
for attaining positive outcomes. In UAE, Emirates Airlines is one of the largest companies and
its vision is to focus on sustaining strong leadership which enables them to formulate new ideas
for keeping it competitive in the Airline industry. For organizational effectiveness, HRM
principles are required to be focused on making the business competitive in the market. In
Emirates, the HR system provides a positive working environment to employees which helps
them in utilizing their talent for improving the performance (Ramaprasad, et al., 2017).
Human resource management refers to handling human-related operations and developing
strategies to improve and grow the company's business. Emirates has always focused on the
human resources department to ensure that the quality of personnel they choose to serve
customers and maintain the standards set by Emirates for its customers. Human Resources
performs a variety of tasks, including understanding job requirements, developing policies to
encourage leadership within the organization, and developing work-life plans that satisfy
employees (Stredwick, 2013). It is necessary for achieving goals and objectives by working in a
team. In Emirates Airlines, the major business function is staffing, employee compensation and
designing work. In the Airline sector, HR management is necessary to consider the functions of
HRM which include Planning, staffing, training and development, rewards, performance
management, promotions, and change.
The performance management process includes enabling the leaders for setting the goals and
achieving with the help of employees for registering the quality outcomes. The initiative which
the organization considers is to encourage the employees to make themselves comfortable at the
workplace and motivate them to focus on the tasks. Dynamic practices include in which
employees can interact with managers for discussing the issues which they face. The long cycle
performance management system is adopted as it helps them to use personnel appraisal methods
with the help of different criteria for evaluating employees. Different factors are considered by
the managers for the operating environment (Wuyts, et al., 2015).

In Emirates Airlines, HRM plays a crucial role and the process of HRM begins with the
recruitment and selection of the right candidate for filling all the positions for finding the best
employee for the Emirates Airlines Company. In the Airline industry, crew members are
required to be updated and it is necessary to keep updated with the technologies and managers
are required to invest in developing the personal and professional skills of employees which
helps in increasing productivity and satisfaction at the workplace. HRM in the airline includes
the activities for using the strategies for effectively and efficiently managing the employees. HR
planning is included in aiming and analyzing the strategies (Wangithi and Muceke, 2012). The
job positions are analyzed and the next step is the recruitment and selection which includes the
internal and external process for setting up to find the right candidate for the job.
Effective compensation strategies are implemented in Emirates airlines was it directly impacts on
the talent and performance. In the Airline industry, the jobs of the crew are a little difficult as
they have to travel from one place to another on a daily basis which requires good compensation
in order to motivate and retain the employees (Fiaz and Saqib, 2017).
In today's increasingly competitive world, companies need high standards of performance, and
human resources personnel have a responsibility to ensure the best performance. It involves
developing a strategy and defining the right way to achieve this. It refers to analyzing the
elements needed to complete a task in a way that is profitable for the organization. In Emirates,
employees are allowed to make new suggestions in the workstation to improve the quality of
results obtained from different workflows. The company's work system is designed to encourage
flexibility and teamwork, making employees more creative at work (Galvin, et al., 2010).
This approach motivates employees to come up with new ideas, which are then forwarded to
managers for review. As a result, these innovative practices have helped the company achieve
higher levels of service excellence in its operations, thereby improving the quality of its industry
brands (Connelly and Ruark, 2010).
The main goal of Emirates airlines is to provide safety while flying and achieving the standards
which ensure professional growth. It is possible to achieve the goals when the HR consider the
process of recruitment for ensuring the high standards for providing the training and motivating
and compensating the employees. In the function of HR the professional development,

motivation, promotions, and training are involved. In the organization, it is the responsibility of
HR to provide the right direction for creating values and culture. It is challenging for the
organization to provide satisfaction and safety to employees in the Airline industry for which
Emirates airlines ensure to provide all the facilities to employees and also hire the right candidate
for the job. In order to overcome the issues, HRM is required to be effective for facing the
challenges (Zaid, et al., 2018).
HRM plays a major role in influencing organizational behavior. In any organization, the
elements of HRM play a crucial role in the success which includes that at the workplace
employees are required to be satisfied. The HRM practices which enable in increasing
productivity and performance include highlighting the practices for the behavior. In the case of
compensation, equity is required according to the performance of the employees. In emirates, the
management takes the best practice of workable as well as the living environment of employees
(Papa, et al., 2018).
The airline's brand value is increased because it allows employees to use technical tools to
increase the efficiency of internal and external workflows. In addition, airlines have simple
management structures that encourage employees to easily share information about various
workflows (Dessler, 2013). The work-life balance provided by Emirates is one of the best in the
world, and employees are eager to develop more stable and inspiring conditions in which to
work. It provides employees with life insurance and provides medical assistance or finances
needed by employees and their families.
Performance evaluation depends on the purpose of management and the commitment resources
available. Trouble-free scoring and ranking programs are implemented by small companies with
limited human resources expertise, while programs such as competency-based programs and
360-degree assessments are implemented by large companies. Many managers use only one
evaluation system (Snape and Redman, 2010). Some organizations provide workers with
technology-related options in a way that must evaluate technology. Emirates uses several
systems to distinguish between non-rewarding functions for rewards and assessments, as well as
various systems for the company's different occupational groups and sectors.

With the many benefits Emirates offers to its employees, benefits are considered to be ample
motivation. But companies need to do more to motivate workers. This motivation can be in the
selective financial support of tuition fees for senior employees. For other employees to advance
to the highest positions, they also need to develop their careers (Xie, et al., 2018). Therefore, this
incentive should not be treated differently from lower-level personnel. Another area that needs to
be suggested is the organizational structure of the organization itself. This structure does not
encourage effective communication in the organization (MALOS, 2012).
Since employees are the backbone of customer satisfaction, Emirates must cover an extremely
rich human resources recruitment process, which will help select the right employees to enhance
Emirates's image and best serve its customers. Emirates is one of the world's leading airlines and
therefore requires more ground crew, cabin crew, pilots and technicians. In the HR recruitment
process, Emirates has an in-depth understanding of the HR process, its advantages,
disadvantages and other aspects. The hiring process is very detrimental to the workers hired by
the airline because the company uses a very strict selection process. For example, airlines recruit
highly skilled and experienced workers, but airlines are not paid as well as other airlines, leading
to worker dissatisfaction (Lussier and Hendon, 2017). The LAMP framework became one of the
key models in the development of human resources plans and strategies. The LAMP framework
in human resources refers to the correct logic (L), correct analysis (A), correct measurement (M),
and correct process (P) (Brewster, et al., 2018). Planning human resources also involves
developing the correct HR-to-employee ratio, developing an accurate HR matrix, and developing
and performing performance assessments of standard parameters. Therefore, it can be seen that
the planning, development, and execution of human resources have a financial impact on the four
terms observed in the L.A.M.P model. Optimizing these four terms helps increase airline
revenue.
The efforts which are taken by the organization include the living and workplace environment. In
the Airline industry, the Patterson model of HRM is adopted which links the effective
relationship between the HR practices and the organizational behavior. This strategy helps in
providing the framework for understanding the HRM practices of Emirates Airlines. It helps in
increasing the employability skills as well as abilities with the help of positive attitude,
innovations, and motivation.
