Consulting in Practice: Casamia Restaurant Case Study_2
INTRODUCTION
The frameworks for consulting in practice are result driven as these are mainly practical.
This helps in focusing on in what ways the company can become a better run and more
successful. This helps in identifying the strengths of the company which can sharpen the way in
which new clients can be generated which can help in enhancing the ways in which existing ones
can be managed (Napolitano, 2018). Consulting in practice will allow the companies to find the
solutions from different aspects. This helps in developing the defined SMART goals to deliver
the optimal solutions on time and also within the budget each and every time the company faces
the issues (Maxim, 2019). Casamia is a Michelin star restaurant which deals in serving the
cuisines which are driven by the seasons. This restaurant setting has only 9 tables. The dishes are
prepared according to the creative and multicultural vibes of the Bristol city. The restaurant
offers food for 3.5 hours a day. The report will shed light on the Casamia which is a
small restaurant in Bristol, UK. It will focus on the issues or the problems
faced by the company which needs to be addressed by the client. It will also
lay emphasis on the solutions of the problems which can help the company
in resolving the problems. Primary and secondary research will be conducted
for analysing and gaining in-depth insights about the problems. This will help
in developing key solutions for the problems identified.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
There are many problems which are faced by the restaurant Casamia such as less social
media marketing, not focussing on the dietary preferences of the customers etc. There is a need
to address the problems of the restaurant in order to expand its products and services along with
gaining greater profitability.
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Casamia is new to the food and beverage industry of UK which is why it needs to
perform thorough research and development regarding the needs and demands of the people
from the restaurants. The company is basically incorporated on 6 November 2014 as a private
limited company. There are only 4 major officers in the restaurant who were also appointed in
2014 and also reside in the same city. Among these, only 3 are currently active as noted in the

confirmation of 2020 (Casamia UK, 2021). The employees in the company are between £10 and
£50 and the annual turnover is approx 2 to 10 million which is why the company is now
considered as a small company. Though it is a small company, it is one of the licensed
restaurants in UK.
SECONDARY RESEARCH
This can be observed that the company make fluctuations in its menu and the prices
according to the seasons but do not focus more on the customers’ behaviour, needs and desires.
The company is known for its high quality dishes, completely vegetarian and also provides
gluten free options. The goals of the company are very clear where it needs to be and for this the
company always creates something original in UK (Lepkowska-White, 2017). The company is
striving hard to attract large number of customers so that it can gain greater competitive
advantage.
This can be observed from the secondary sources that the people of UK are now becoming more
health-conscious which is why they prefer more healthy and dietary food. The health of the
people is worsening day by day which is why they plan to change their diet. They are shifting
towards the restaurants which serve dietary food with no additional sweeteners. Casamia’s menu
is not much diversified and contains only 20 courses which were not decided by considering the
dietary choices of the customers. This was observed that in England, more than 7 out of 10 men
and more than 6 out of 10 women are obese pr overweight. This leads to the prevalence of many
diseases such as coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even some types of cancers. The
main reason behind this problem is the food affordability, inaccessibility to the healthy food at
good prices. This becomes obstacle for the people to skip to the healthy and dietary food.
But, on the other hand, the economic condition of majority of the people in UK is quite good
which do not make them focus on the prices of the dietary food. Their main aim now becomes to
consume healthy food and becoming healthy (Khan and et.al., 2020).
Casamia restaurant focuses on changing the menu according to the seasons and the choice of city
of Bristol but this is not attracting the people of UK as they are more concerned about their
health and healthy lifestyle without suffering from any disease. Due to the pandemic of COVID-
19, this was also observed that the people prefer the food from the restaurant which do not
worsens their immune system and also that do not affect their body negatively. Though, Casamia
