INTRODUCTION
In current changing technological environments, new inventions are changing world
continuously as well as business aspects. Increasing use of smartphones is most significant
technological trend in UK. People are becoming more dependent on smartphones and market of
smartphone is also expanding rapidly in UK (Smart, 2012). The study-report is focused on
the Eco-Fone Smartphone, a UK based cellular telecommunications retailer having their two
major stores in location: Putney and Richmond. This corporate entity was formally founded in
year 2014 and keeps going to grow increasingly. The study covers the comprehensive research
on UK's smartphone market as to support the decision of Eco-fone regarding expansion in new
marketplace i.e. Kingston. Further it helps to find out all the possibilities to become successful in
new market as well as to sustain market share.
TASK
1.1 An Overview of the Mobile phone market in the UK:
Pertaining to the survey carried out by Deloitte upon mobile phone use in the United
Kingdom. The smartphones industry is rising every day with strong presence
through smartphones sales which is rising by 1.5 billion each year. In the UK, selling or
prevalence of smartphones is around 58 per cent within the entire adult populations group and
researchers anticipate this to rise to Ninety percent by the year-2020 (Deloitte. 2017). It Is that
since the significant proportion of the world global population is allured to the smartphones and
using smartphones towards both routine works and professional works. Throughout the UK,
there have been nearly 33.5 million individuals are in employment or doing jobs, around 32
million of whom use cell phones at work. Users in the office use smart phones for sending e-
mails, MSG texting, video chat, event planning, and much more. In the United Kingdom, almost
all the age ranges of individuals using smart phones. The much more fascinating truth here
is this survey report is that rather than choosing to make regular calls, users are more inclined to
do emails with 41% in year 2016 and about 37% in year-2017. In considering these two core

1.2 Forecasting the UK Adult Smartphone use:
By paying particular attention to this survey performed this has been analysed that,
approx. 17% of entire population ranged in age between 16 years to 24 years use their smart
phones at least hundred-times in single day, and even some around 12 per cent of such age range
population stating that they usually check their smart-phones about 200 times in single day. In
fact, approx. 34% of users between 16 years to 75 years’ age group are majorly addicted to
smartphone usage that they tend to using while enjoying or eating food when interacting
with friends group or family members. This very same pattern about using smartphones is
identified in around 49 percent of users belongs to age-group ranging from 16 years to 24 years
(Choudrie, Pheeraphuttharangkoon and Giaglis, 2014). Approx. eleven percent of users belongs
to age category 16 years to 75 old individuals using their smartphones while passing and
