A completely different environment is offered by virtual teams in which the process istotally different which works out with the use of different media of communication andpreferably various needs of the leaders in facilitating the communication (Gajendran & Joshi,2012; Hart & McLeod, 2003).Interaction is very important as a team leader. Therefore, my relationship with our teammembers should be strong and positive. I would like to get along with all the group membersonce in a month for maintaining that relationship and will organize web conferencing andnew technological options. It would be beneficial for an entire workforce and all of us will befamiliar regarding the strength and the weaknesses of our team members. Obligation andrewards will be given more to them for their great demonstrations if those are benefitting thebusiness. For improving their performance appropriate training has to be provided tomembers which motivate the team for better effects.A2 One has to make sure that communication systems are well established and properlymaintained (Malhotra et al., 2007; Maruping & garwal, 2004).Yes, I totally agree with thestatement that building of community will play a vital part in a virtual globe. It is consideredto be the best way since people come from different communities, countries, and mainlycultures where they can present their, interests, opinions, feelings, and thoughts. There aresome important points should follow to promote a sense of community and give opportunityto everyone for their participation.Monitoring the performance of the team and their progress towards the accomplishment of atask is the first priority of a leader. When glitches are exposed, for determining the nature ofthe problem the leader should gather all the information and should use this information forformulating and implementing the effective solutions (Hackman & Walton, 1986).1. Maintain the self-confidence and more respect toward others.2. Should have better relationships with all the team members. 3. Have to respect the member for different ideas and thinking styles.4. Though debate arises, the focus should be in the situation, but not on the individual orpersons involved in it. With due respect to the functions of team performance, the role of theleader is to monitor the behaviours of team members and take action as required (Hackman&Walton, 1986; McGrath, 1962; Roby, 1961).Response to Shilpi AryaHi Silpi,I strongly agree with you.As a team leader in maintaining the team interaction is veryimportant. Because of that among the team member leaders need to have a strong andpositive relationship. According to ( Pless andMark,2005 ) if leaders are responsible they will assemble people and lead the teams, allthrough the business, cultures and/or countries in achieving the performance objectives whichare resulting from the strategic objectives of the organization. They also train and support theemployees in achieving these objectives in a very ethical, respectful and ‘‘relationallyintelligent’’ way. 2 It is important for the organization to be aware of the internal and external factors of themulticultural leadership path which will apparently support the organization’s success.Internal factors are in contrary to the external factors which are generally the issues whichaffect the business and are beyond the management control. There are some instances ofinternal factors. Internal Factors: their Values and beliefs, the environment in theorganization, style involved in solving the problem, the structure of the organization, theircommitment, management, assets, and financial strength. On the other hand, externalenvironment is not manageable. One of the key trends that are identified by Zander et al(2012) is shared leadership.The administrators of a business bring no control over benefits ofthe business rivals in multicultural team leadership. A positive relationship between sharedleadership and virtual team effectiveness is found by Pearce et al (2004).
