INTRODUCTIONBusiness administration is one of the crucial part of an organisation. It can be describedas management of business which is consist of many key responsibilities such as supervising andoverseeing business operations (Astrauskaite, Kern and Notelaers, 2014). This report will bediscussing about the management operations of Tesco which is a multinational groceries andgeneral merchandise. The respective organisation has been serving in seven different countrieswhich are United Kingdom, Thailand, India, Ireland, etc. Addition to this, the report will also bediscussing about the reasons of reviewing performance and appraisals of the employees of Tesco.There are different methods of carrying out appraisals which will be discussed in the respectivefile. There are different policies and procedures of respective organisation which are followed tocarry out appraisals will be studied in the report. Thus, a clear and specific feedback will also bementioned. There are different techniques to identify the appraisals and development needs.Thus, different training that are applied to train the employees of Tesco will be discussed in thereport. There are various resources and development policies of respective organisation whichare stated in the assignment.MAIN BODY 1.1 The purpose of performance reviews and appraisals.Performance appraisals is a method of evaluating employees measured by theperformance of individuals and potential of their development in the work place. It helps inevaluating the contribution of each employee to achieve the objectives of Tesco. Thus, some ofthe purposes of performance reviews and appraisals are mentioned below:Evaluation- Performance appraisals helps the management of Tesco in evaluating andmaintaining the record of job performance of each employee on the basis of efforts andachievements of the employees of respective company (Barak, 2016). Addition to this, theseemployees are judged on different basis as well such as behaviour, personality, etc. which helpsin determining the future growth of each staff member of Tesco.Identify area of weakness of employees- The performance appraisals also helps inidentifying the weak points of each employee which can be polished with trainings and othermotivational factors. Through this, Tesco can help in maximising the productivity of thecompany's employees.1
