1CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Task 1
VALUE AUDIT
1. The five personal values that has influenced my life choices are
Honesty-It is important to remain honest to my work; otherwise it will be
difficult to survive the cu-throat competition.
Loyalty- I believe that it is important to remain loyal to an organization and
work with integrity.
Teamwork and coordination- One of the primary goals of my life is to work
as team and coordinate with the team (Matteson, Anderson and Boyden 2016).
Responsibility- It is important to take responsibility for one’s action
especially being accountable for failure
Optimism- It is very important to remain optimistic come whatever may be
the situation.
2. I aim to becoming a Human Resource Manager. The top 5 skills that I have learnt are
calculation and mathematics, PESTLE analysis to understand the external
environment, critical reading of business literature, my degree and internship with a
an accountancy firm. All these will be helpful for me in managing the human
resources of an organization through efficiency.

Task 2
CAPABILITY AUDIT
Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively-
This is one important selection criterion and I
subsumed under the soft skill. Inter-personal
communication skills are very important for employees
to be selected and promoted into important positions
(Acevedo, Cruces, Gertler and Martínez 2015). For
example, in hotel information technology
communication is most important followed by the
ability of critical thinking. In the 21st century
employers want to hire employees with good
interpersonal communication skills
Good organizational and administrative skills-
Employers prefer candidates who possess thorough
administrative skills, the ability of innovation, have the
capability of identifying problems in the team, and
solve it. For example, organizing the team and
motivating them to deliver their best performance.
Steve Job’s ability of organizing and managing the
Apple team and inspiring the employees can be
manifested in the performance of the employees.
Proven ability to work as part of a team- This is an
important selection criterion and reflects the ability of
the candidate to work as a team. This is considered as
the number one criterion by the employers to hire
employees. There is an emphasis that educators should
teach the students about the importance of cording in
the workplace (Robles 2012).
Well-developed customer service plans- For the
employers, this is another important selection criterion.

3CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN
A candidate needs to understand that the existence of a
corporate house is premised on their reciprocity
towards the viewpoints of the customers.
Understanding the customer needs is very important to
develop customer loyalty. Therefore the candidate
must possess the ability to make disruptive business
model that would respond to the rising needs of the
customers. For example- The creation of Amazon
Prime by Amazon and the incorporation of smart-
connected devices by Domino’s for an exclusive
digital engagement with the customers.
Proven ability to manage projects- Businesses are
need of resourceful employees who are motivated and
can manage different projects. The management of
different projects would require me to maintain a calm
and understand the specific needs of each of the
projects. This would also demonstrate my skill of
multi-tasking and give an insight to the organization
about my ability of working efficiently under pressure.
b) The one skill that I intend to develop for the future prospect of job would be the soft
skills of communication. Scholars specializing in business studies have recognized that there
is a paucity of interpersonal skills at the workplace. It si because in addition to the hands-on
training, technical skills and academic rigour, this is one aspect that will help me to connect
with the employees of the organization in my role as a human resource manager. An HRM
(Human Resource Manager) is expected to understand the problems of the members working
in an organization and come up with effective suggestions in alleviating their problems. To
do this along with quick reflex I would need to develop good communication skills so as to
communicate with the employees and be an intermediary between the organizational
authority and the group of employees. I tend to develop interpersonal skills of communication
through educative videos, watching debates and discussions on television, studying the body

language of the orators and understand the importance of structure of speech to create a
lasting effect on both the employer and once I join the team on the people I would be
managing as a human resource manager. Internship in organizations and studying closely the
human resource manager would be helpful. I will require at least a month along with weekly
self-evaluation to reach my goal and learn the nuances of interpersonal communication skills.
Task 3
GRADUATE ELEVATOR SPEECH
I am a motivated individual and possess the ability of working under pressure along
with great interpersonal communication skills. These communication skills be especially
important for me to excel as a Human Resource Manager. If I am selected to a company I
would integrate the skills that I have learnt during B-school and would add value to the
organization. I possess the skill of working in a team and coordinating between different
members in the team. Based on my internship experience in an accountancy firm, I have
learnt the skill of problem solving and working under pressure. This feature of problem
solving will be very important especially during any conflict between the line managers and
others (Kavanagh and Johnson 2017). I would be able to act as a mediator, listen to both sides
and adopt a strategy than would solve the issue through the application of relevant business
leadership skills. During my course, I have understood the importance of transformational
leadership in ushering in long-term and sustainable change in the business environment. This
would be particularly helpful in case a company is facing the crisis of high attrition rate. In
that situation, I would make a plan to understand the factors that have contributed to this
situation and develop a policy that of selecting the right kind of employees for the company
and providing them reasons to stay with the company (Smart 2004). This demonstrates my
quick reflex and the ability to make decisions under challenging circumstances. If I am

develop policies that be beneficial for the employees as well as the company.
