INTRODUCTION Retail industry include combination of various activities related to selling of consumer able goods to customers so that their household and personal needs can be fulfilled in best possible manner. Human resources manager is responsible for planning and organizing people in the firm so that several tasks can be completed in smooth manner. The main aim of this report is to understand the way general trends impact on retail industry and what are the skill required related to specific professional. So, this report has included crucial information related to trend and key skills required by Human resources manager to performed diverse range of task and contribute in growth and success of firm. ANALYSIS AND APPLICATION General trends that impact on retail industry or on my professional career as Human resource manager External environment is dynamic in nature or ever changing that directly impact on particular profession as well as industry. There are numerous trends in external environment that are affecting professional career such as human resources manager as well as retail industry. So, from both secondary and primary research, it can be stated that the changes or trends impact on human resources are globalization and technology (Machado, 2018). Such as: Globalization:It is one of the trends that has affected on human resources profession in retail industry as with globalization companies are planning to expand their business in order to earn more profitability. HR manager with globalization must have various skill and capabilities to understand culture, value and policies of different countries in order to handle individual that belong to various countries. Thus, Hr manager in retail sector while formulating strategies and policies needs to considered preferences of people that belong to different culture in order to motivate them to work hard for benefits of organization. Moreover, globalization has lead in providing more opportunities for post of HR manager in companies with an motivate to handle and manage range of people working in the firm (Hitka, Lorincová and Ližbetinová,2017). Therefore, it can be stated that HR profession and retail industry has been affected by globalization to certain extend. Technology:There are numerous development and updatation in technology that has directly impacted on retail industry as well as human resource's profession. With upgradation in technology companies operating in retail sector have tried to make the best use of them to
delivered quick and better services to customers. Moreover, HR manager must have skills to make use of digital or information technology to gathered relevant information of employee performance, productivity and attendance with firm. Therefore, development in technology has impacted HR to developed skills to adapt to them so that it can get higher success in future circumstances (Harney,Dundon and Wilkinson,2018). The respondent has also specified that technology has affected on HR manager professional as they have to make use ofnew technology in order to attract and communicate information to various employees. Skills, knowledge and experience required by Human resource manager in retail sector Human resources manager plan several strategies related to recruitment, selection and retention of employees in the organization. The manager also decide training and development program in order to enhance existing skills and capabilities of people so that various task of company can be easily completed. From the secondary as well as primary research conducted, there are key skills, knowledge and experienced required by HR manager. Such as: Five personal skills:These parts specific about several personal skills required by individual in order to apply for HR manager in any reputable organization for better professional career. The five personal skills needs to be present in individual can be illustrated as follows: Communication Skills:An individual in order to apply for post of HR manager must have good communication skills to easily share information with range of people working inthefirm.Furthermore,theseskillswillhelpsmanagerincoordinatingdiverse individual toward common goals by specifying them about their particular roles and responsibilities in the company (Bal and de Jong, 2017). Strategic workforce planning:The another personal skills which is required in HR professional is strategic workforce planning skills that helps in identifying number and type of people required and the way they can be selected in the organization. Likewise The respondent of primary research has also illustrated that HR manager must have skills to identified number of people will be required in near future to completion of task. Digital technology skills: For profession of HR manager digital technology is also one the skills that needs to be present as it helps in maintaining strong relationship with employees. Such as HR manager by making use of digital technology can gathered and stored useful information about candidate thereby take right decision for betterment of company.

Thereby analytical skills contribute HR manager in making right decision related to selection and improvement of performance of employees by making use of data. So, overall it can be stated that all these are five key skills that need to be present in individual to apply for the post of Human resources manager in any organization. Two areas of knowledge and expertise:The primary and secondary research helps in finding that individual must have knowledge and experience in specific field to get applied for the post of HR in any reputable organization. Such as: Recent trend and development:The Knowledge and expertise required by HR manager is what is happening in the external environment so that it can be used in order to formulate effective strategies. So, Hr manager must have complete knowledge about recent trend in society in order to motivate employees to work hard for success of organization (Caldwell,2017). Such as compensation provided by other competitors to their employees will helps it in setting wages and salary it need to pay so that individuals are happy to work for organization. Knowledge about digital technology:Secondly, it can be stated that manager must have knowledge and expertise in digital or innovative technology in order to effectively handle several operations of business. Individual that have better knowledge about innovative technology can easily complete all task related to Human resources' management. Such as advertisement in different medium, screening of application and selection of the best possible candidate as HR manager in specific company. So, these are two pertaining knowledge and expertise which needs to be present in individual to apply for the position of HR in any reputable organization performing its function in retail sector.
EVALUATION From the study it can be evaluated that there is vacancy of HR advisory manager which is responsible for performance management in Tesco that is operating in retail industry of United Kingdom. The job role is of my interest as there are various skills and knowledge that are present in me that are required by Human resources manager in order to complete its respective task (Tesco careers, 2021).Such as I have people management and communication skills that helps me effectively sharing information about company to various employees. I have also People management skills which helps me in handling and managing numerous individual within firm. Furthermore, I am interested because I also have good command on digital technology that will helps me in managing performance of employees that are working in the firm. Moreover, it can be illustrated that the post of HR manager is related to the industry as well as profession of my choice as I am interested to work in Tesco. So, the company has recently post an vacancy of HR performance management thereby right individual can be attracted and selected for growth and benefits of firm.As per my view, this job opportunities needs to be considered by others, as there are various companies in retail sectors that are unable to manage people in the organization. Therefore, there are various demand or vacancy of HR manager in firm to handle diverse range of people that are performing different function in company. At last, it can be stated that the job role is futuristic, as there will be demand of HR manager in numerous companies in order to manage large number of employees so that several operations can be easily completed. Therefore, I have decided to pursue my career as HR manager in Tesco company to get experience as well as enhance my existing skills. CONCLUSION From the above report it can be concluded that general trends impact on profession or industry that helps in identifying key skills that needs to be present in HR manager. Moreover, it can be summarized that HR manager needs to have better knowledge and skills to handle people so that company can easily promote its operations in retail sector of United Kingdom.
