INTRODUCTIONDeveloping manager is a concept that highlights required personnel and managerial skillsof prospective manager. By having an improved focus on the skills' development of workforcethe issues can be overcome in desired manner. It has been noticed that by having an improvedfocus on the developing manager concept the better strategies can be employed in order to dealwith diverse managerial issues (Daft, 2009). With an assistance of this, personal growth andcareer development can be attained in desired manner. In order to have better understandingabout the subject the learning will focus on work culture of TUI and Virgin Holidays. Learning will provide information in regard to diverse management styles which need tobe referred effectively from the managers to meet goals and objectives. It also helps in evaluatingthe communication processes which allows to improve the workplace sustainability. Along withthis, significance of management and leadership styles within organisation can also beunderstand effectively so that better opportunities can be created for businesses. By having animproved focus on developing manager concept the individual works in hospitality sector caneasily evaluate the managerial skills. It will assist in effective development of careerdevelopment plan so that sustainability can be well maintained. TASK 11.1 Different Management StylesManagement styles are considered as one of most critical aspect for very organisation andit allows to advance the work performance in diverse manner. In addition to this, it can be saidthat management styles are mainly focused towards making decisions and maintainingrelationship with sub-ordinates (Burke and Collins, 2011). With an assistance of this,organisations like TUI and Virgin Holidays can easily take employees at a common platform sothat goals and objectives can be accomplished in desired manner. In addition to this, it can be said that TUI is well focused towards human relationshipapproach in order to ensure that work environment is properly maintained. It is one of key reasonthat management of TUI consider democratic aspects as critical aspect. Company allowsmembers to have involvement in decision making process so that needs of customers can beattained in desired manner (Brooks, 2013). Manager consider employee views to have3

continuous improvement in the process. On the other side, management of Virgin Holidays isattracted towards bureaucracy management style. In this respect company is well focusedtowards autocratic leadership and values at workplace (Baligh, 2006). In this management stylethe manager do not allow members to have participation in decision making process. Decisionsmade by manager can be referred as unilateral decisions which must be followed by subordinateswithout any kind of argument. In this style belief and opinion of manager can be reflectedbecause decision made by manager is mainly dependent over self confidence. In order to provide better support to working as per situational changes the managementof both organisations can also look over further management styles. It might assist in ensuringabout conditions and helps in attaining better benefits in context to managerial value.Classification of additional management styles can be as scientific management, classicalapproach of management and systematic approach (Armario, Castro and Ruiz, 2014). By havingan appropriate selection of management approach the business firm can advance theopportunities and lead business activities to impressive level of success. 1.2 Leadership CharacteristicLeadership is referred as factor which impacts the working of organisation in bothpositive as well as negative manner. It has been noticed that by having an appropriate selectionof leadership style the businesses can easily accomplish goals and objectives. It is becauseleaders are more focused towards development of morale among employees so that they feelvalued while having an operation within organisation (Ahmad, 2009). With an assistance of this,better excitement can be created within culture and improve work environment. It also allows toadvance the workforce capabilities by having application of unique ideas. Leaders must consideractivities as a key responsibility in order to meet objectives. Leader need to ensure about selfworking capabilities as well as motivation among members. It is also significant for leaders tohave good communication skills so that information regarding work activities can be sharedeffectively with the team members (Cassidy, 2016). There are different leadership styles which are being employed by both TUI and VirginHolidays. It has been noticed that TUI consider transactional leadership as critical aspect for longterm sustainability.
