INTRODUCTION
Hospitality sector can be introduced as a broad concept which offers different services or
experience to their guest for fulfilling their professional and personal purpose. Their are different
services such as event planning, travelling and tourism are involve in hospitality sector which
match with expectation of customers. This present assignment is written in context of Wembley
international hotel which is located in Wembley, England. This organisation is well known
among all UK for the finest services that they provide to its customers or paying guest. In this
report different types of functional and operational departments that show their contribution in
hospitality sector. Along with this skills and operational roles of an individual is discussed that
are required to perform the job role in hospitality services. At last PESTLE and SWOT are
executed that show current trends in hospitality sector.
TASK 1
P1 Types of business within hospitality industry
In present scenario hospitality sector plays an essential role that provides different
services to visitors and guest that come to visit their place or country. Success of hospitality
business depend on the satisfaction and expectation of customers. Their are some different types
of business that stay in hospitality sectors is given below:
Food and beverage- The food & beverage sector deals within catering and restaurant
through which they offer healthy and delicious food to its customers. Some few categories are
mention below:
Wembley inter-national hotel provide effective services to its customers or guest which
includes quick delivery of meals, food and snacks with the help of employees.
Food department of Wembley inter-national hotel also deals in catering business which
determines that organisation organise and manage weddings and birthday parties for its
customers.
Lodging and accommodation- It is a broad concept which covers various services that
are provide hospitality industry. As for Wembley inter-national hotel it includes different hotels,
resorts etc. through which they involve or offer different services to paying guest. This involves
food, shelter, entertainment and others services through which they match with expectation of
customers (Alserhan, 2016).

activities with the expectations of customers. In this it includes the comfortable and clean
rooms, healthy food which govern that company want to give memorable experience to
guest.
Travel and tourism- Travel and tourist activity are essential business operations that is
performed by hospitality sector. This is the method or way through which organisation shift or
visit customers from one place to another through various ways that includes trains, air-lines,
ships etc. In context of Wembley inter-national hotel they contribute in the economic of country
by attracting more tourist to visit their country. It helps them to create loyal customers for their
business through which they create brand awareness among customers (Bowie and Buttle,
2013).
Customers have different purposes that to visit any specific place sometimes they go in
another country for building professional relation while in other way to visit any place to
gain unforgettable experience and enjoy others cultural activities.
P2 Different operational and functional departments of hospitality organisation
Each and every organisation required different departments which helps to gain expected
result that are performed by company. This departments helps an organisation for smooth
running of their functions and operations in the right direction. Some of this task are given
below:
Operational department- For the hospitality sector operational department work as entire
role through which they create bridge between all functions of organisation. For Wembley inter-
national hotel it is important because they operate their business in hospitality sector which
signify that services are more important for satisfying need of customers. It includes design and
control of activities or operations that are performed by organisation. Some different department
are given below: Front office is the part of operational department that is first noticed by customers at the
time of entering in hotel. This also acts as communication system between customers
and other departments of organisation (Bowie and et. al., 2016). Housekeeping department plays an essential role in an organisation as they are
responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene in the rooms and floors of hotel.
