1. Introduction
This report will look at Functional Skills English level 2 objectives, with regards to
learning and teaching aiming to clarify at what extent meet learner`s needs, seen in
an interpersonal connection. Moreover, an evaluation will be carried out during this
study to develop an explicit description of resource efficiency applied throughout the
teaching and learning process in order to respond to learner`s requirements.
Furthermore, the assignment will carry out an analysis of resources, methods,
principles and evaluation of strengths/weaknesses identified in Functional Skills
English level 5, in order to establish in what way concepts, principles and designs of
inclusive curriculum models could be used in the classroom.
2. Findings
New emerging technologies, such as digital learning resources has the potential in
enhance learner’s abilities such as computer skills, access resources and make use
of it in order to optimise learner’s performance. PowerPoint represents a source of
inspiration for tutors and students as well, that in combination with Kahoot and
textbooks could bring novelties in teaching.
2.1 Explain the purpose of resources in learning and teaching -Functional Skills
English Level 2
Barber and Mourshed (2007) argues that educational material utilised in teaching
and learning represent an important aspect as a component of the professional
enhancement method for the reason that the level of teachers has been underlined
as a key contributing factor within the school system in delivering effectiveness.
Moreover, involvement and contribution to design increase the efficiency to transfer
teacher experience into the classroom (Schieb and Karabenick, 2011). Thus,
resources are extremely valuable as supporting tools in teaching and learning by
offering learners the opportunity to access files and materials without the supervision
of an teacher in a more informal method such as accessing the organisation's virtual
learning environment whether at school or away. Moreover, resources could be
institution-specific, for instance inclusion policy documents either school behaviour,
reports for new teachers and assessment procedures. For example, some
organizations have a library as a substitute for an area of the staffroom where
special design to contain books and journals regarding teacher development that
could be applied; as well as online resources that could be employed: social media
groups, editorials regarding education and teaching, websites namely Teaching

English and Edutopia. Also, people represent important learning resources and
skilled or specialist teachers.
The whole purpose of resources is designed to develop my own skills as a English
teacher with the intention to make learning process more enjoyable and encourage
learners to express their own uniqueness through creative writing and group work in
order to support them in the classroom. These materials such as lesson plans, are
aiming to develop and practice speaking, reading, listening and writing skills in level
2.2 “Evaluate the effectiveness of resources from teaching and learning to meet
individual needs”.
Students have a different learning preference and potentially could acquire
knowledge more effectively if utilise methods, thus Fleming (2005) allocates
individuals into four groups centred on their learning preferences, consequently
aural, visual, kinaesthetic or a combination and read/write. Furthermore, a selection
of teaching resources that has the main aim to meet individual needs represents a
central point of attention which if it is applied accordingly could increase learner`s
ability in accessing a wide range of knowledge. Additionally, PowerPoint, Kahoot,
textbooks, digital learning resources including video, audio, text, animations and
images, lecturers are reported in accordance to effectiveness and quality in regards
to adaptability, cost-effective, visual engagement-make use of diagram, imaginary,
colour.
