ASSESSMENT TASK

This assessment task comprises of two sections.

In the first section, develop a project time plan for your project of choice. In the second section, answer a
series of questions, referring to your project, regarding project execution and evaluation.

SECTION 1 - PROJECT TIME PLAN

1.Schedule Management Approach

It is found that for creating proper schedule for effective bridge construction, a number of steps
has generally been used. The steps which are followed are listed below:

Major inputs into the plan

The major inputs for developing a project management plan includes designing of preliminary
project scope statement, project management procedure, organizational process as well as different
types of enterprise environmental factors.

Ways for identifying and estimating resources and duration

It is found that in order to identify as well as estimate the required resources as well as duration
for the construction of bridge by involving within core project team. The involvement within the project
team is mainly done for properly achieving the project objectives and for determining the required time as
well as resources for the project (Bourne and Weaver, 2018). The information that is gained after
involvement with the project team is helpful in developing proper schedule.

Realistic time estimation

It is found that while undertaking the bridge construction project, proper realistic estimation has
been done by analyzing other bridge construction related project for getting proper idea as well as
realistic outlook about the project.

Issues which could impact on the estimation

It is found that improper planning as well as unskilled team members are the two different types
of challenges that generally can create negative impact on the time estimation in the project. If the proper
planning is not done then the managers are unable to properly estimate the entire project effectively (Lai
and Yang, 2019). In addition to this, it is necessary for the team members to be skilled and experienced
otherwise they are unable to determine the duration effectively as estimation is much more based on
experience.

Ways for development of the project schedule

It is found that in order to create the schedule for the bridge construction project, it is found that
MS project is mainly used. Gantt chart tool that are mainly utilized for estimating the project duration,
defining predecessors as well as resources for developing proper project plan (Martens and Carvalho,
2017). Furthermore, agile methodology is mainly used for developing proper project schedule for
providing proper rapid response change within the entire project and it further assists in effectively
managing different changing needs of the project.

Ways by which stakeholders communicated

The stakeholders of the project are mainly communicated in context to schedule by arranging a
meeting. It is found that within the meeting, the project managers communicate the significance of project,

its deadlines as well as objectives such that the team members can be capable of progressing the project
schedule quite effectively.

2.Work Breakdown Structure

The WBS which is given below is mainly divided into four different categories that are initiation,
planning, construction as well as closure. Proper analysis has been done so that the project WBS can be
successfully created based on the data collected as well as the experience of the team members.

3.Schedule Control

Project schedule control

The project schedule will be properly controlled within the entire life cycle of the project with the help
of the steps that are elaborated below:

Frequency of updates: Any type of updates related to the project are done by the project managers
as well as team leaders instantly so that no work of the project will get affected by any type of update
that is provided.

Schedule reviews: The schedule must be reviewed on a weekly basis for making sure that the project
is on track and it will not face delay (Wei and Rana, 2018).
