INTRODUCTION
Entrepreneurs and corporates are focusing to recruit those people which are having basic
necessary skills as per their needs which can be stated as a employability skills. Communicative
people can learn fast, most of the companies are focusing to recruit those educated and qualified
candidates which are good in making communication with others (Taylor and Procter, 2014).
This project is based on working conditions of Travelodge, this report is based on employability
skills and it is having a self reflection on set of responsibilities and performance objectives, own
effectiveness, recommendations for improvement and motivational techniques to improve
performance in working conditions. After it will describe interpersonal and transferable skills to
develop solutions, to manage time and communicate in a proper way on different management
level. Each and every team is having key players which increase their effectiveness which will
describe in this project. At last it is having content on problem solving tools and methods.
TASK 1
1.1 Set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
Working as a manager in Travelodge it is essential for me to set my own responsibilities
in organisation and according to them I have to increase my performance, as I am working as a
marketing manager so it is essential for me to arrange my team in a better way to obtain
maximum information from market. Set of responsibilities are here;
Collect information from market: It is my duty to collect maximum information from market
by which I can support my organisation to increase sales of organisation. Direct and indirect
relationship in market can help to me to collect maximum informations from market and
competitors.
Ethics: It is my duty to follow morality in providing services to organisation so each and every
data which is collected from my team has to be authentic on which company can make a better
strategy.
Performance Objectives are those element which can help to me to increase performance
to get them. Here is main performance objectives to improve my performance in the
organisation;

Salary level: I have to make a focus on increment which can help to me increase purchasing
power and improve living of standards. So I have to make my focus on the next level of salary
which can help to me to increase my performance in market and in organisation to attain this.
1.2 Own effectiveness against objectives
Travelodge is working in travel and tourism industry and they are having huge market
competition so it is essential for the company to improve their business activities which can help
to organisation to improve it's market share. Performance objective can help me to increase my
performance, my senior managers are having huge expectation from so it is essential for me to
full fill their expectations any how. As I am having an objective to be my senior post in a year so
it is essential for me to develop some more strength to attain this post in decided time frame.
Senior management of the organisation is happy from my work which is a proof that I am
enough effective against performance objectives. Appraisal are based on the performance of
employees in the organisation and each and every employees is having target so it is essential
for me to attain these targets any how by which I can be able to achieve these performance
objectives. Some points are here to explain own effectiveness against performance objectives;
Identification of skills: Each and every employees is having some skills which can help to them
to attain organisational objectives and as well as their own personal objectives so according to
this employees has to improve their performance.
1.3 Recommendations for improvement
As I am working as a marketing manager so I am having huge responsibilities to identify
new markets, authentic sources of information for organisation. So to attain my personal
objective it is essential for me to make a better performance ion my organisation. Some of the
points are here which can help to be more effective for objectives and organisation:
Learning of marketing theories: Marketing manager is having huge need to learn marketing
theory so I have to learn some more theories and convert in practical in market which can help to
make a better performance against organisational objective which can help to me to achieve
personal objective.
Identification of strength and weakness: It is essential for any person which wants to attain his
organisational objective so it is essential for me to make a personal evaluation of strength and
weakness. By using my strength I can attain my performance objectives easily which can help to
me to make a better position in the organisation. Improvement on weakness can help to me to

make a better change in my performance and in business activities which can help to make a
performance.
1.4 motivational techniques to improve quality performance
Different motivational techniques are available, which can help to an employee to
improve his performance and qualitative work. Some of the motivational techniques are here:
Rewards and incentives: Travelodge has to provide monetary incentives to their employees
which can help to them to make a better performance from their employees. As I am working as
a marketing managers so it is essential for me to set a target of incentive for a month which can
help to me to increase my qualitative work. Monetary motivation is the best to accelerate
performance of employees so it is essential for me to increase my monthly earning by making
more incentives.
Self motivation: Determination to reach a target is a best motivation for any person which want
to obtain a higher grade in his life. So it is essential for me to increase elements of self
motivations which can help to improve performance to attain those performance targets in pre
decided time. Quality work needs proper focus and interest in work so it is essential for me to
make a [proper on those markets which are covered in my sector, I have to make a proper
relationship with my sources to manage personal interest in market.
TASK 2
2.1 Solutions for work based problems
Travel and tourism sector is having huge needs of marketing because many companies
are working in this sector. Travelodge is not a market leader but it wants to be so it is essential
for employees which are working in the organisation to give their best in account of company to
maximise market share of Travelodge (Smale and Fowlie, 2015). Marketing manager is having
huge responsibilities in the organisation to collect authentic and maximum quality information
from market which can help to the company to make a proper change. Some of the problematic
situations are here with solutions:
Communication problem: Marketing manager is having a huge need of communication with
their teams which are working in the market. Mobile is a single medium to communicate with
them but they have to provide them satellite phones by which they can make a call from those
areas which are not having a mobile network.

Training: Marketing needs a lot of training, market rivalries are making new packages for tours
so it is essential for marketing team collect information to get exact detail of their packages so
marketing managers has to provide them a proper training to increase their communicational
skills to collect data from market.
2.2 Communication style at various level of management
As Travelodge is a huge structured organisation and they are having a various level of
management. Mainly a organisational management level can be divided in to three parts which
are higher, medium and lower (Wall, 2015). Each of management level is having specific need to
make a communication so it is essential for the marketing manger to send information about their
problems in different ways according to need of management level;
Communication on higher management: E- mails has to be used by communicating on higher
management level so it is essential for marketing manager to write an appropriate professional e
mail to aware them about problems faced by marketing team. Formal communication is most
suitable way to communicate on higher management level.
Middle level of management: Formal and informal way of communication can be used by
marketing manager because marketing manager are also included in this level (Benson, Morgan
and Filippaios, 2014). All people which are working at this level are having same designation, so
marketing manager can elaborate his problem by oral communication in meeting and by sending
individual mails.
Communicating with lower management level: Marketing managers has to use informal way
of communication when discussing a problem with their team mates (Mehrotra, 2014). This is
best way to communicate with subordinates, by this marketing managers can deliver his face a
expressions which can create a mental pressure on their subordinates regarding to problem.

2.3 Effective time management strategies
Achievements are essential element for any person which are working in the
o0rganisation and it can be possible for them when they are managing their time perfectly. In
case of marketing manager in Travleodge, they are having huge need to use an appropriate time
management strategy which can help to them to arrange their time according to scheduled work:
Setting priorities: It is essential for marketing manager to make a list of work and set their
priorities in them by which they can attempt those work which are necessary according to
organisation and marketing manager (Kulkarni and Chachadi, 2014). It can help to them to give
a proper time according to need of work and by using this manager can attempt all work in a day
easily.
Diary management: It is another effective time management strategy in which marketing
managers can write all work to do in his diary. By this they can attempt all work in a day. He can
mark on those work which are completed by their activities (Paadi, 2014). So by using this they
can make a schedule of time by which they can make a better separation of time in their work.

3.1 Roles people play in a team and their working to attain share goals
An organisation is very much concern towards achieving goals and objectives in an
effective manner. Travelogue divide people in different groups according to their similarities
and interest (Jackson, 2014). Teams are play an effective role in maximising profit an revenue
for firm. Firm is concern on building effective team for managing tasks and work in desired
period of time.
Team workers: The people who are connected with some groups and teams are known as team
workers. Organisations hire well educated and skilled people in their firm and categorised them
into different departments as per their set of skills and ability. Employees use their talent and
knowledge for completion of work in giving period of time.
Implementer: Some people are having extraordinary skills in them, and they use their ability to
resolve any kind of problem in organisation in order to attaining targeted goals and objectives.
Organisation hire these type of people to creating safe environment without any issues.

Shaper: Some people are working for a long time in firm any they known all terms and
conditions of organisation (Pârvu, Ipate and Mitran, 2014). They are mainly part of higher
authorities and top management. They are having very vast knowledge in performing tasks, so
they attempt any work or duty with their experience and knowledge.
3.2 Team dynamics
There are four different models which depicts about team dynamics includes:
Forming: It consist of different behaviour of family members towards the different team that are
created in Travelogue in order to main efficiency at work places. It helps in building cooperation
so that works flows in a planned and systematic ways. If team members will be cooperative than
it will help in reducing fighting among the group members. It created positive work environment
and strong bonds are created among the employees at work place.
Norming: This stage states that mangers should share their norms, values, past experiences and
knowledge with their team members. This helps in making them familiar with the work
environment in order to make them aware about how different activities will be carried out at
work place.
Storming: In this stage the employees make decisions about the different roles and
responsibilities which they had to perform at work places (Asonitou, 2015). This helps in making
the person responsible that they had to complete their assigned task in particular time frames.
Performing: This is the final stage of team dynamics. The employees with conduct mutual
discussions among themselves in order to share there experiences which they have gained by
performing there assigned roles.
3.3 Alternative ways to complete task
Travelodge is a multinational travel agencies which provides various services of
travailing to its customers. This company is conducting a marketing plan so that it can improves
it current position in competitive market place. There are various ways to get accurate
information about market. Company can conduct various customer surveys to identify need of
clients so that organisation can make effective strategies to accomplish organisational goals.
Travel agency can take help of informative data of other enterprises. Through market research
firm can identify needs, demand and preferences of its customers, also can make systematic
merchandising plans and strategies so that different wants of its clients can be fulfilled. By
providing high qualified services Travelodge can provide better satisfaction to its customers.

High satisfied clients is result of high financial profit of organisation (Riebe and Jackson, 2014).
Therefore, market research is a best method of determining different trends and need of market.
Marketing plan of a company can not be succeed without providing appropriate gratification to
customers.
TASK 4
4.1 Tools and methods for developing solutions to problem
As Travleodge is facing a problem of employee retention so it is essential for higher
management to adopt an appropriate method and one of them is here:
Identification of root cause: It is essential for the management find out what is the basic cause
to leave organisation. Salary, work pressure, training and development programs can be a issue
for leaving job. Most of their employees are not getting how to deal with their responsibilities so
they have to make an appropriate solution on it.
Discussion on basic cause: After identifying the basis cause higher management has to make a
proper discussion on cause with all level management. Whole management has to make a
discussion on their training and development programmes.
Identify possible solutions: In this step management has to identify possible solutio0ns which
can help to organisation to over come on this problem (Mishra, 2014). The management can
change their training and development program by which they can convert their employees more
able to fulfil requirements of organisation.
Implementation: This is a stage in which higher management has to implement possible
solutions which can help to them to retain their employees. They have to implement a new
training and development program.
This process will be effective for the company to make a proper change in the
organisation which can help to them to retain their employees. Working on basic cause can help
to them to remove this problem for a long time of period which can help to company to ensure
that their employees will be with them for a long time of period (Rao, 2014). It just has a need of
experienced managers which can analyse what are the basic cause by which employees are
leaving their job from organisation.

4.2 Appropriate strategy for resolving labour turnover problem
As the above given method will be effective for the company to resolve this problem so it
is essential for higher management to use this to resolve their problems and issue. As they are
having a high labour turnover ratio so their higher management has to implement this method in
this situation. Training plays a major role in change of an employees in organisational
environment, it creates a relation in between job responsibilities and employees.
Managers has to make a new training program in which they have to include different
learning style. After recruiting a candidate in organisation they have to provide a seven day
induction program in which they have to give them practical and theoretical information about
job role and duty (O'Neil, 2014). They have to use on the job training method in which they have
to set a liability of a new employee on a retaining employee which can help to him in his work.
4.3 Potential impact of strategy on business
This new strategy regarding to training and development can help to company to retain
their employees for a long time and this is the main impact of this strategy on Travelodge. It can
help to organisation to grow their market share which can help to company to increase their
yearly profits. Some of the major impacts are here;
Attain organisational objectives: Travelodge can attain their objective easily by retaining their
employees, it creates a bonding in employees which can help to them to achieve organisational
objectives (Deeley, 2014).
Financial profits: Retaining employees can help to company to improve their yearly profits
which can help to them to increase their market position.
Skilled employees: Change in training programmes can help to newly recruited employees, it
can provide them better learning which can help to them to increase their interest in their work,
which is essential for organisation.
Qualitative work: Skilled employees can deliver better work in account of Travelodge which
can help to company in monetary and non monetary terms.
CONCLUSION
Above presented report has been concluded that performance objectives can help to an
employee to generate quality work from own. Monetary objectives can be best for any person
which wants an improvement in his work. Travelodge a huge structured organisation and each

higher management level. Team dynamics are the areas in which a team get effective to attain
shared objectives, different key people included in a team which supports to organisation to
attain goals. At last this report summarised that an appropriate method can be supportive for
company to resolve conflicts so it is essential to select a best suitable method.
