INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be defined as group of essential qualities that involves
improvement of knowledge base, expertise level and mindset. Furthermore, it results in providing
adequate opportunities for growth and development. Essential qualification is typically advised for
many job positions and hence, it is necessary for an individual's employment success (Sinclair and
et.al., 2014). Present report is based on Aldi which is a supermarket chain that is headquartered at
Germany. This report covers the way in which the selected organization develops its own
responsibilities and performance objectives. Along with this manner the use of motivation
techniques used by Aldi is also highlighted in the present research report.
TASK 1
1.1
Being the manager of Aldi, I am responsible to make sure that all the aim and objectives
developed by organization are addressed in the best possible manner. Another important
responsibility of a manager is to administer the operation of area for which he is responsible (Das,
2015). Thus, I am also responsible for carrying out smooth flow of all activities and business
practises within the organization. Apart from this, it is my responsibility to check whether the
efforts of employees and resources of organization are invested in the right direction or not. So,
being a manager, I need to developed performance objectives of employees which can support them
to deliver effective and satisfactory services (Guzman, 2013). In order to attain the objective, it is
essential to get practical knowledge of recruitment process and plan. It is required to set
responsibilities and in order to achieve goals (Olson, 2016). The duty of manager is not only
restricted to getting thing done by employees but it is also associated with raising their interest and
encouraging them to give their best towards success of organization. I have also developed some
smart objectives which are mentioned below as:
For the first year, to get knowledge regarding the practices of HR I will perform various
activities that are related to the recruitment.
In the second year, my objective is to become senior HR manager in order to achieve higher
growth and success in my professional life.
My performance objective in connection with responsibilities is mentioned below as:
Working as a manager I am responsible for the providing assistance and coaching to all
employees. Therefore, my objective is to enhance the overall quality of coaching and
assistance which I provide to others.
As a manager I am responsible to increase the volume of sales and profits within the

business enterprise by 20% in the next 24 months. My objective is to learn different tools
and techniques which can support me to develop more effective strategies for increasing
sales and profits.
I am responsible to ensure that all aim and objectives of business are accomplished within
specific time. Therefore my objectives to learn different tools and techniques through which
I can motivate staff members.
I am responsible for carrying out smooth flow of all operations and activities. My objective
is to ensure that no form of discrimination or partiality is carried out between staff
members.
My responsibility is to lower down the rate of employee turnover by 25%. Therefore, i
have developed objective of learning new ways through which I can motivate workers and
lower down rate of turnover within next 12 months.
1.2
In order to achieve the objectives I am required to determine my own effectiveness. As it is
explained above, at initial level, being the manager in Aldi, I will focus on leadership skills to set a
vision in the minds of employees. It is because; they have to be clear with the goals of organization
so that planned objectives can be achieved (Xiaobing and Xin, 2013). Further, to assist employees
about their career aspirations, process remains effective by providing proper training to them as per
their capabilities. So, this will improve skills in the field of their work. With the plan to administer
operations of area of manager, this will be effective as it includes reporting and financial
requirements as well as personnel and legal induce that must be met on time. As above explained, in
order to attain the objective, I am required to work upon my communication skills and enhance the
same. This will support me to communicate the objectives and strategies to other members in more
effective manner. Apart from this, I am also required to focus upon modes such as self learning and
gain knowledge about different strategies of recruitment which can be used. It will help them to
make better analysis of the administrative process. In order to become a successful manager, it is
required by an individual to continue the process of lifelong learning (Sung, 2013). In terms of
carrying out evaluation of my own effectiveness, it can be stated that I am required to work upon
skills such as communication, leadership and team working in order to achieve all developed
objectives.

On the basis of above career plan, I have analysed that formed techniques can help me in
advancing my skills and increasing effectiveness in my work. I am good at communicating with

employees and in leadership but on the other side, my weakness is that I am not good at planning
and presentation. So presentation skills must be improved so that I can present my ideas and
strategies in more effective manner. In the present scenario, it has become very important for every
individual to focus on learning new things and acquiring skills in order to get better opportunities
for growth and development (Smale and Fowlie, 2015). Training can assist in increasing knowledge
about different aspects of job and it could result in the achievement of performance objectives. It
will help me to face issues and challenges at workplace in more effective manner. Further, meetings
or sessions can also generate positive results for bringing the achievable improvements. A manager,
is required to become aware of strengths and weakness of each and every individual at workplace
(Naik and Ambig, 2014).
There is one of the specific situations at workplace which is related to the communication
between the employees in the organisation as staff members are facing problem regarding lack of
coordination between them. It has been seen that it affects the work and they are not able to manage
their work. It creates the various issues in the different department and this can be solved with the
help of using different strategies of managing the conflicts at workplace (White, 2016).
It can be stated that there are wide range of strategies which can be used by me in order to
enhance the communication and coordination. For example more and more team work can be
promoted in order to bring coordination among people in the organization. Along with this,
communication in the organization can be improved by using more effective and direct channels of
communication. People working in team can be provided with training and development programs
so that they can work more effectively within team and help each others. Training will also provide
them with information regarding different tools and techniques of team working which can be used
for carrying out smooth flow of all operations and activities.
1.4
Motivation plays great role in terms of encouraging employees to perform better in
accomplishment of organization’s goals and objectives. There are two important theories which can
be implemented with an objective to motivate people working in organization. Being a manager of
Aldi, it is my key responsibility to motivate employees time to time so that they work effectively. Maslow's need hierarchy theory:- According to this theory, businesses can motivate staff
members by focusing upon their needs and satisfy the same. Here companies needs to

identify different needs of people working at different level of management and then take
corrective measures to satisfy the same (Devambatla and Nalla, 2015). As a manager
working in Aldi, I can make use of Maslow need Hierarchy theory to encourage and
motivate all staff members. The main and most important advantage of this theory is that it
will create sense of satisfaction among workers as their need and demand will be satisfied
by management in the best possible manner.
Hers berg's two factor theory:- This theory is able to emerge satisfaction for employees towards
job. Application of this theory leads to stimulate workers for their work as well increases potential
for better work. Further, the theory has two factors such as job satisfaction and motivation. In order
to motivate workers with the help of this theory, I will be required to focus on two important factors
which are hygiene and motivators.
Being the manager of Aldi, it is my responsibility to motivate employees time to time so that
they work effectively. Maslow's need hierarchy theory identifies the fulfilment of basic needs of
employees as it motivates them to perform well and includes safety needs and self-esteem needs
including achievement, self-respect, prestige and respect from others. Management can also adopt
Herzberg’s motivational theory which provides It focuses on improvement in the quality of
supervision (Devambatla and Nalla, 2015). The advantage of this theory is that level of job
satisfaction will be increased. With the consideration of these theories, company would be able to
understand factors that can improve the performance of employees. Providing incentives and
rewards defined by the concerned theory. As a manager I can also adopt another tool for enhancing
motivation level of employees i.e. appreciation. Timely appreciation will assist employee to work
with interest. It will also uplift their willingness to work and make them integrated towards the
duties and responsibilities of company (Yang and et.al., 2015). It also helps an individual in
working with full dedication and determination. If the supervision style is functional, It assist to the
ground of motivating staff and create healthy relationship among employee and employer. It will
result in achievement of goals and objectives as well as improvement in the performance of
employees of the company.

2.1
Being the manager of Aldi, it is to acknowledge that there are certain problems or issues
needs to resolved in the best possible manner. Major problem is that the communication is getting
deformed due to variety of factors (Shah, 2012). Communication is an important component of
organizational overall activities and business practises. It can be also stated that businesses cannot
attain their goals and objectives in situations where the process of communication developed is not

effective. The main and specific problem with communication is that people are not clear about the
objectives of organizations and the key strategy which they need to adopt for the satisfaction of the
same. Lack of team meetings and unclear roles, responsibilities are the main causes of the problem.
To deal with this problem, organization can start conducting the sessions where all
strategies, objectives and action plan can be effectively communicated to all workers. It is necessary
to deal with solution or identify the problem so that proper assessment could be made with the
elements of communication (Guzman and Choi, 2013). Afterwards, training sessions can be
provided to employees in organization by which they boost up the confidence among staff
members. Aldi can also encourage views and opinions of all its workers by using more open
channels of communications and leadership style such as democratic. The employees are required to
become aware of the importance of communication skills in their professional growth and
development. Thus, in this way, functional solution can be developed to eliminate the issues related
to poor communication skills (Sung, Loke and Ramos, 2013).
There are some of the techniques which are used to improvement in the communication in
organisation such as direct communication which is helpful in order to manage the coordination,
create the description of job as to provide the proper concept which helps the members to resolve

At different levels, various types of communication techniques can be adopted by the higher

managing the professionalism. Further, the middle level managers can be informed by seminars and
conferences (Andrews and Russell, 2012). It is the most important and useful technique which is
commonly used by middle layer of management. The verbal and as well written strategies could be
proper while communicating with middle level managers. Further, with the help of mailing; both
formal and written form of communication can be carried out.
On the other side of this to deal with lower level staff, I can focus upon using notice board or

manager of Aldi, strategic decision making is implemented to achieve efficiency of the
organization. Time management strategy:- Effective time management strategies can be adopted
including logical and disciplined approach. First of all, it is very important for the selected
business enterprise focusing on diary management. Through this way, one can quickly

concentrate on noting down the important and tasks on priority with a clear focus on whole
day activities which can save a lot of wasted time and efforts. It can help in remembering
important activities that are needed to be done on priority basis so that the tasks would be

person to become aware of different tools which can be used to manage time. The advantage
of this strategy is that it helps in completion of task and activities on time. At the same time,

individuals. Segmentation of work:- It is a form of time management strategy which focuses on carrying
out one task at a time which means limit multi tasking so that work is divided and target is
easily achieved. It allows them to utilize their time in a proper and efficient way and they
can easily manage the burden of task. The list of time management strategies considers
breaking work in different parts. Accordingly, the time can be allocated to the particular task
and most importantly, time management should be proper and accurate. Thus, these are
effective time management strategies that can be implemented by the members of staff
(O’Connor and Bodicoat, 2015). This strategy is effective in situations such as work load or
work pressure. The advantage of this strategy is that it helps in delivering quality of work as
the entire work is divided into different segments. On the other side of this, drawback of this
strategy is that sometimes it can results in creating confusion regarding which task to be
completed on priority. To do list:- Segmentation generates idea to prepare lists of work to divide work according to
ability of workers. Therefore, manager of Aldi makes list for scheduling that what work
should be done in how much time. It considers as great strategy to strongly follow on
planning. Hence, company gets target in proper time to manage allocation of resources. It
leads to gain effective position in competitive market. The advantage of to do list is that it
helps in prioritising the work whereas it disadvantage is that it sometimes can create
mismanagement of time and resources.
Prioritization:- Manager of Aldi implements action to prioritise by giving authority and
responsibility to specific worker. Thus, division of work under some manageable employees

role that could be possibly played by the individuals within the team. The Beblin theory suggests
the nine roles of individuals, these are divided into three parts action oriented roles, people oriented
roles and thought oriented roles which are described below:

tackles the work, here the team members started to become comfortable with each other so that

communication where interaction with team members should be in a positive way. Further, to adopt
various roles and responsibilities to complete tasks and projects, work effectively in a changing
situation and understand how to approach handling clashes using a win orientation (Wels, 2013).
Moreover, there is use of self discipline which helps in managing the activities and that is in the
control of a person only. With the help of social media proper flow of communication can be made
that can assist in carrying out work in effective manner.
Time management is essential to achieve team goals in which work divided into different steps,
it helps to save time and completion of task. To achieve team objective, it is necessary to remove
barriers in process of development. In order to achieve goals, understand the relation between work
and the organizational strategy to analyse the performance. In this, there is proper setting of the
goals which are to be achieved in appropriate manner by the management of the organization.
Set and attain high standard goals and measure the progress towards accomplish objectives
and use interpersonal skills to influence to guide others toward a goal. Other than this it is clear that
the sense of respect is required to be created among the team members. It will helps in building the

Being the manger of Aldi I need to focus on certain aspects related to the development of
solution to the problem. It is acknowledge that if communication is effective and interaction process
is proper between team members so that goals could be achieved. If there is any problem in the
communication process, it is impossible to deal with the clashes and most importantly sharing of
information could also become extremely ineffective (Mcpherson. 201). The tools and methods
including communication through social media where employees are allow sharing their views with
each other to make meaningful and work related issues. To attend conference as a team is an
excellent way to open up communication and discuss with the employees about the development of
organization. Communication must be two way so that it gives number of benefits by fetching this
approach. Putting things in writing is another alternative in which it makes sure that everyone

Force field analysis helps to evaluate the different forces against the changes and helps to
analyse the forces which impact the changes. It helps in solving the problems related to the lateness
of employees at workplace which provides a particular idea considering the approach of decision

on Aldi. Furthermore it is required by the management to apply the policies in an appropriate

objectives for company. Aldi can avail the benefit related on low cost on the training schedules and
most importantly the cost potency within the company would be inherited. It is clear that through

employees is to realise the appreciation of the organization and feel comfortable while doing project

are in contact with company could get excellent experience. Further the list of possible constructive
impacts include that Aldi can build their reputation and can become an employee-centric
organization. It is one of the major positive elements that could be gained by Aldi.

of employees. Further, identify the time management strategies which are to be used in organization
for the employees to manage all the work on time. It includes different strategies in which more
work and less time. Ahead of this, it includes how people work as a team and achieve goals.
Analyse team dynamics and suggest various alternatives to achieve task. At last, it evaluate the tools
and methods to developing a solution to problem related to communication and other business
issues and evaluate the potential impact on business of the implementing strategy that how it affects
the organization.
