INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be defined as group of essential qualities that involves
improvement of knowledge base, expertise level and mindset. Furthermore, it results in providing
adequate opportunities for growth and development. Essential qualification is typically advised for
many job positions and hence, it is necessary for an individual's employment success (Sinclair and
et.al., 2014). Present report is based on Aldi which is a supermarket chain that is headquartered at
Germany. This report covers the way in which the selected organization develops its own
responsibilities and performance objectives. Along with this manner the use of motivation
techniques used by Aldi is also highlighted in the present research report.
TASK 1
1.1
Being the manager of Aldi, I am responsible to make sure that all the aim and objectives
developed by organization are addressed in the best possible manner. Another important
responsibility of a manager is to administer the operation of area for which he is responsible (Das,
2015). Thus, I am also responsible for carrying out smooth flow of all activities and business
practises within the organization. Apart from this, it is my responsibility to check whether the
efforts of employees and resources of organization are invested in the right direction or not. So,
being a manager, I need to developed performance objectives of employees which can support them
to deliver effective and satisfactory services (Guzman, 2013). In order to attain the objective, it is
essential to get practical knowledge of recruitment process and plan. It is required to set
responsibilities and in order to achieve goals (Olson, 2016). The duty of manager is not only
restricted to getting thing done by employees but it is also associated with raising their interest and
encouraging them to give their best towards success of organization. I have also developed some
smart objectives which are mentioned below as:
For the first year, to get knowledge regarding the practices of HR I will perform various
activities that are related to the recruitment.
In the second year, my objective is to become senior HR manager in order to achieve higher
growth and success in my professional life.
My performance objective in connection with responsibilities is mentioned below as:
Working as a manager I am responsible for the providing assistance and coaching to all
employees. Therefore, my objective is to enhance the overall quality of coaching and
assistance which I provide to others.
As a manager I am responsible to increase the volume of sales and profits within the

business enterprise by 20% in the next 24 months. My objective is to learn different tools
and techniques which can support me to develop more effective strategies for increasing
sales and profits.
I am responsible to ensure that all aim and objectives of business are accomplished within
specific time. Therefore my objectives to learn different tools and techniques through which
I can motivate staff members.
I am responsible for carrying out smooth flow of all operations and activities. My objective
is to ensure that no form of discrimination or partiality is carried out between staff
members.
My responsibility is to lower down the rate of employee turnover by 25%. Therefore, i
have developed objective of learning new ways through which I can motivate workers and
lower down rate of turnover within next 12 months.
1.2
In order to achieve the objectives I am required to determine my own effectiveness. As it is
explained above, at initial level, being the manager in Aldi, I will focus on leadership skills to set a
vision in the minds of employees. It is because; they have to be clear with the goals of organization
so that planned objectives can be achieved (Xiaobing and Xin, 2013). Further, to assist employees
about their career aspirations, process remains effective by providing proper training to them as per
their capabilities. So, this will improve skills in the field of their work. With the plan to administer
operations of area of manager, this will be effective as it includes reporting and financial
requirements as well as personnel and legal induce that must be met on time. As above explained, in
order to attain the objective, I am required to work upon my communication skills and enhance the
same. This will support me to communicate the objectives and strategies to other members in more
effective manner. Apart from this, I am also required to focus upon modes such as self learning and
gain knowledge about different strategies of recruitment which can be used. It will help them to
make better analysis of the administrative process. In order to become a successful manager, it is
required by an individual to continue the process of lifelong learning (Sung, 2013). In terms of
carrying out evaluation of my own effectiveness, it can be stated that I am required to work upon
skills such as communication, leadership and team working in order to achieve all developed
objectives.
1.3
On the basis of above career plan, I have analysed that formed techniques can help me in
advancing my skills and increasing effectiveness in my work. I am good at communicating with

employees and in leadership but on the other side, my weakness is that I am not good at planning
and presentation. So presentation skills must be improved so that I can present my ideas and
strategies in more effective manner. In the present scenario, it has become very important for every
individual to focus on learning new things and acquiring skills in order to get better opportunities
for growth and development (Smale and Fowlie, 2015). Training can assist in increasing knowledge
about different aspects of job and it could result in the achievement of performance objectives. It
will help me to face issues and challenges at workplace in more effective manner. Further, meetings
or sessions can also generate positive results for bringing the achievable improvements. A manager,
is required to become aware of strengths and weakness of each and every individual at workplace
(Naik and Ambig, 2014).
There is one of the specific situations at workplace which is related to the communication
between the employees in the organisation as staff members are facing problem regarding lack of
coordination between them. It has been seen that it affects the work and they are not able to manage
their work. It creates the various issues in the different department and this can be solved with the
help of using different strategies of managing the conflicts at workplace (White, 2016).
It can be stated that there are wide range of strategies which can be used by me in order to
enhance the communication and coordination. For example more and more team work can be
promoted in order to bring coordination among people in the organization. Along with this,
communication in the organization can be improved by using more effective and direct channels of
communication. People working in team can be provided with training and development programs
so that they can work more effectively within team and help each others. Training will also provide
them with information regarding different tools and techniques of team working which can be used
for carrying out smooth flow of all operations and activities.
1.4
Motivation plays great role in terms of encouraging employees to perform better in
accomplishment of organization’s goals and objectives. There are two important theories which can
be implemented with an objective to motivate people working in organization. Being a manager of
Aldi, it is my key responsibility to motivate employees time to time so that they work effectively. Maslow's need hierarchy theory:- According to this theory, businesses can motivate staff
members by focusing upon their needs and satisfy the same. Here companies needs to

identify different needs of people working at different level of management and then take
corrective measures to satisfy the same (Devambatla and Nalla, 2015). As a manager
working in Aldi, I can make use of Maslow need Hierarchy theory to encourage and
motivate all staff members. The main and most important advantage of this theory is that it
will create sense of satisfaction among workers as their need and demand will be satisfied
by management in the best possible manner.
Hers berg's two factor theory:- This theory is able to emerge satisfaction for employees towards
job. Application of this theory leads to stimulate workers for their work as well increases potential
for better work. Further, the theory has two factors such as job satisfaction and motivation. In order
to motivate workers with the help of this theory, I will be required to focus on two important factors
which are hygiene and motivators.
Being the manager of Aldi, it is my responsibility to motivate employees time to time so that
they work effectively. Maslow's need hierarchy theory identifies the fulfilment of basic needs of
employees as it motivates them to perform well and includes safety needs and self-esteem needs
including achievement, self-respect, prestige and respect from others. Management can also adopt
Herzberg’s motivational theory which provides It focuses on improvement in the quality of
supervision (Devambatla and Nalla, 2015). The advantage of this theory is that level of job
satisfaction will be increased. With the consideration of these theories, company would be able to
understand factors that can improve the performance of employees. Providing incentives and
rewards defined by the concerned theory. As a manager I can also adopt another tool for enhancing
motivation level of employees i.e. appreciation. Timely appreciation will assist employee to work
with interest. It will also uplift their willingness to work and make them integrated towards the
duties and responsibilities of company (Yang and et.al., 2015). It also helps an individual in
working with full dedication and determination. If the supervision style is functional, It assist to the
ground of motivating staff and create healthy relationship among employee and employer. It will
result in achievement of goals and objectives as well as improvement in the performance of
employees of the company.
TASK 2
2.1
Being the manager of Aldi, it is to acknowledge that there are certain problems or issues
needs to resolved in the best possible manner. Major problem is that the communication is getting
deformed due to variety of factors (Shah, 2012). Communication is an important component of
organizational overall activities and business practises. It can be also stated that businesses cannot
attain their goals and objectives in situations where the process of communication developed is not
