INTRODUCTION
Efforts of organisation for managing relationship between employees and employers is
known as employee relations. This is a part of human resource strategies which are designed to
ensure that organisation's mission is accomplished and competitive edge is maintained in global
era (Frone and Trinidad, 2012). Zizzi is chain of restaurant in United Kingdom and the Republic
of Ireland. The firm provides different dishes which are inspired by Italian cuisine. Their
signature Rustica pizzas are thinner, crisper and have bigger base. In this report importance and
value of relations is specified and fundamental employment laws are applied within Zizzi
restaurant. Rights, duties and obligations are analysed within workplace. Stakeholder analysis is
done and their impact is analysed.
TASK 1
P1 Value and importance of employees relations in Zizzi restaurant.
Employees relations defines relationship between employees and employers. Positive
relations with enhanced involvement, engagement and commitment of employees, boost
outcomes of business (García‐Cabrera and García‐Barba Hernández, 2014). Employee relation
plays vital role within organisation this enhance success, productivity and profitability of
organisation. Zizzi restaurant builds strong relationship with employees due to which conflicts
do not arise within workplace and employees are satisfied due to which there is positive impact
on organisation. Employee relations are valuable for organisation as management can enhance
relationship between employees and employers, so that effective working environment can be
provided to them. This will lead to fair and equal treatment among employees of Zizzi restaurant.
An example can be considered to further understand this concept, when employee joins Zizzi
restaurant an organisation detailed contract is provided to them which contain different policies,
rules and regulations and responsibilities of employee which they have to abide. This builds a
relation between employee and organisation as they know working of organisation.
Apart from Zizzi restaurant is providing their services globally, for this they have to build
effective relations within domestic and international market. They can further enhance their
services in other countries. Employees can convey their customers that same services with
enhanced offers are provided within other country and if they go their they must try them. In this

organisation.
Manager of Zizzi restaurant motivates their employees, appraise them for their
performance, communicates mission and vision of organisation so that they must be clear about
goals.
Importance of Employee relations:
Work becomes easy when it is shared between different employees. Productivity of
individual can be enhanced by developing healthy relationship between employees and
employer. When effective relations are shared between different outlets then it helps in
different operations, like if market analysis is done then by one outlet then information
received from that can also be used by other outlets to enhance their services.
Individual feels motivated, confident and delivers their best which will enhance
productivity and supports pleasant working environment. Different dishes can be made
within particular restaurant by taking tips from other restaurant so that productivity can
be increased.
Zizzi restaurant ensures that healthy relationships are built, which discourages fights and
conflicts among employees within workplace. Employees do not waste their time in
irrelevant disputes instead of that they focus on performing hard.
Employees relationship is important as it decreases the problem of absenteeism within

their working.

P2 Employment laws applied by Zizzi restaurant.
Rights and duties between employees and employers are governed by employment laws
which ensure sustainable working of firm in global era. These laws are meant to keep employees
safe, ensure that all employees are treated equally and manage unethical of workplace (Hameed,
Ramzan and Zubair, 2014). For ensuring effective working environment, Zizzi restaurant follows
different regulations and laws. Manager ensures that discrimination do not occur within working
environment either related to race, gender, culture or income. Manager of Zizzi restaurant
implements different employment laws in their all outlets either they are domestic or
international. They ensure that their employees have safe working environment. Laws are
mentioned below:
Data protection Act, 2018: This Act includes conditions related to processing of
personal data of employees (Hogg, 2012). This act is established to secure personal information
of employees which used by organisation and government. Zizzi restaurant have implemented
this Act and ensured that personal data of employees is not misused. Manager of Zizzi restaurant
ensures that sensitive information related to employees is not disclosed or misused by any
person. Zizzi also ensures that outlets which are present outside UK also follow this act, as each
employee has their own information and has right to protect this.
Equality Act, 2010: This Act of Parliament of UK ensures that socio-economic
inequalities are reduced. This Act protects people against victimisation and discrimination based
on gender, age or any other factor. This ensures that all employees are treated similarly. Positive
working environment within workplace of restaurant is regulated by Equality Act. Zizzi
restaurant has implemented this Act as whole for all the outlets with the motive of reducing
conflicts related to discrimination, fair wages, etc. This act is globally adopted so that equal
rights can be provided to each employee and there can be surety that discrimination is not
occurring within Zizzi restaurant.
Health and Safety Act, 1974 (c37): Act of Parliament of United Kingdom, define
fundamental authority and structure for regulation, enforcement and encouragement of health,
welfare and safety at workplace within United Kingdom (Jaafreh and Al-abedallat, 2012). Zizzi
restaurant ensure that equipment’s used in organisation are in good condition and employees are

trained to work on those equipment’s with the aim of maintaining occupational health and safety.
Management of Zizzi restaurant ensures that health and safety of all employees working for them
is kept at priority. They make sure that effective equipments are made available within all
working premises. This helps management to build effective relation with all employees.
Minimum wage Act, 1998: This Act is established to offer minimum wage in United
Kingdom. Employees with age greater than 25 are given £7.83 per hour and employees whose
age is between 21 to 24 they are paid £7.38 from April 1, 2018 and it is expected that by 2020 it
will raise to £9 per hour. Zizzi restaurant has implemented this Act for providing minimum
wages to employees based on their age in order to reduce disputes and manage equality among
employees. Similarly different countries have their own minimum wage act to provide salaries to
employee on basis of their age. These laws are implemented by Zizzi restaurant in their all
outlets so that salaries can be provided to employees on basis of same factors i.e. age.

laws like Health and Safety Act, Minimum Wage Pay act, and many more. When manager of

they are being terminated. This will provide employees with sufficient time to search for new

types of stakeholders are there within organisation, they are governments, employers, employees
and many more. Stakeholders play vital role within organisation which have strong impact on
decision making of business. Stakeholders enhance social status of organisation. Stakeholder
analysis is done by Zizzi restaurant to analyse and identify effectiveness and need of stakeholder.
This analysis will help restaurant to shape their project and enhance quality of their services in
effective manner. This will help restaurant to use resources efficiently and effectively.
