INTRODUCTION
 The present report is based on understanding significance of promoting
equality and valuing an individual learner of London School of
Economics.
 In this regard, rules and regulations amended in Equality Act, 2010 are
discussed regarding learners' protection from discrimination and
prejudice.
 Moreover, self-reflection on promoting equality will be introduced in
this assignment.

Equality and diversity
(Definitions)
 Equality:
It is a state of being equal and providing people to similar human rights and protecting
them from harm. In accordance to this, some legislation are made regarding
considering an individual equal in respect of gender, age, job, and so on.
 Diversity:
It refers as state of being diverse and understanding differences of an individual as for
treating with them equally. However, it is a process of getting mixture of
different people's various views, beliefs and social systems.

1.1 Equality and diversity in UK
 Equality and diversity are the key tools for protecting an individual from harm
and disrespecting. In accordance to this, it works for considering an individual's
human rights.
 In the UK, many laws are imposed by the government for protecting individual's
value and human rights so that they can be saved from kind of harm.
 However, Commission of Equality and Human Rights (EHRC) is established in
the UK for reducing discrimination and providing proper rights to individuals.

1.2 Benefits of promoting equality and diversity for
individual learners
Promoting equality and valuing diversity within education sector has several
benefits which can be understood in terms of London School of Economics:
Recruiting and selecting teachers for schools without any discrimination as of
gender, age, religion, belief and so on.
It is helpful for providing an individual his/her human rights in case of negligence.
It is to build up an individual's trust with education system and UK legislation.
Maximization in learners' satisfaction level with rules and regulations for teaching
and training programs.

 However, understanding an equality and diversity influences
protection of an individual from harm and discrimination.
 It is beneficial for treating with all individuals equally and
providing their rights.
 Including this, it impacts on education and employment
sector of the country positively as well reduces disputes
towards inequality.

1.3 Legislation, employment regulations
and codes of practices
 Legislation:
Legislation are considered as law for which protection of an individual is considered in context to equality and
diversity. However, UK government has amended different laws for protecting workers and building up
society's trust towards equality at higher level.
 Employment regulations:
These are for improving level of employment as of treating all equal and protecting them from discrimination in
working hours, insurances, salary and other benefits. However, employment regulations are amended for
setting appropriate working hours, weekly off, insurance policies for taking care of individuals.
 Codes of practice:
It is issues by professional association to consider ethical standards for its members. In this regard, ethical
considerations are provided to learners in terms of equality and diversity impacted on environment as well.

It is required to aware students with equality and diversity act for human rights
which influences education and employment system of the UK. In this regard, its
usefulness can be identified as below:
For enhancing knowledge regarding equality and valuing diversity of individuals
among students.
For increasing learners' knowledge regarding actions that can be taken against
discrimination.
Creating understanding of learners with right or wrong concept.
For developing knowledge in relation to equal opportunities and diversity concept
among learners.

discrimination as influences equality and diversity of people effectively.
 In addition to this, it is beneficial for treating each an individual equally.
 Similarly, it is to create understanding for treating all equality as well
valuing diversity effectively.
 Including this, awareness towards equality and diversity get increased at
higher level impact on valuing an individual.

CONCLUSION
 It is concluded that equality and diversity is crucial for human rights and
protection of individual from discrimination.
 In this regard, promotional and communication strategies for awareness of
London School of Economics' learners are discussed.
 However, self-reflection on participating in development program is identified
impacted on learning and understanding with UK legislation in this report.
