INTRODUCTION
Business activity is engaged in the basic purpose of making profit. It is combined of all the
activities related to business like: investing, financing, operating and focusing on creating the value
so that level of performance of the company is reached to the highest point (Pohl, 2010). This case
is about the ABC recruitment company. In this firm, proper recruitment process is not followed
owing to the reason, the inadequate leadership and ineffective management, which cause a huge
deficit in the organization.
In this case, we have to discuss some points regarding the importance of business activity, a
plan for own area of responsibility, to manage the appropriate system in the organization and to
maintain the health and safety. For increasing the overall performance of ABC Company, different
strategies should be made in clear way (Forsgren and Johanson, 2014). Through the proper
management process starting from planning, organizing, directing, staffing and controlling an
outcome will come up with the effective manner. ABC Company has maintained the level by proper
leadership and effective management process. In the recruitment company, a particular area is
selected for improving and various business strategies, which are framed in effective manner so that
outcome is in productive (Jeston and Nelis, 2014).

1.1 Interrelationships between the different process and functions of the company
The ABC recruitment company has a particular structure starting from:
 General director;
 Business development manager;
 Recruitment manager; and
 Operational manager
Different process and functions of ABC Company are interrelated if entity followed the
proper structure. In this recruitment structure, proper steps is to be taken from the work
specialization to formalization (Polonsky and Waller, 2014). Organisation operations related to the
sales and marketing etc. the whole practices is definingevery activity and function of each
department. Industry process collect the input and give an output by following business functions.
Firm functions are linked and a motive is to give a productive result. . In every department business
practices is related to some specific area like sales, finance, human resource etc. are properly
identified and a association process is conducted So without this process, a business function is not
going to run effectivelyIt is the concepts used in the organization which represent what is to be
done in the organization and how work is to be done by them with the help of strateical process.

Moreover, business process is linked to the business function in all the way for improving the
performance level of the recruitment company (Goetsch and Davis, 2014). The entirebusiness
functions are generally stable within the structure of the company and all the business role are
depended on the business functions. The linked of business utility and business procedure leads to
capability of each person do their full effort and work in a very effective manner for achieving the

1.2 Methodology to be used to map processes to ABC Company’s goals and objectives
Process mapping is a well proven method for undertaking process improvements. It is one
of the best tool to reached the desired ends with a productivity manner. A process map is simply
drawn to bring a real understanding to a group and developed a clear picture of what actually
happens. Process mapping is used small number of symbols to realize the actual situation in the
reality (Harper, 2015). ABC, company had identified the need to strengthen their current
methodology to increase the performance of the company. For achieving the objectives, company
developed a different specific goal: create an infrastructure, identified work stations, making
standards, monitoring, provide a guild lines. Each successive completion of goal leads to next goal
by performing the various tasks. ABC, company used the Internal and External recruitment
methodology. An internal recruitment involves direct recruiting candidates internally on the other
hand external recruiting means to recruit a candidate from outside the company for better
performance. Company followed the different business functions like:Sales function, finance
function, administration function etc. Process map of single functions of ABC company (Österle,
2013).
SALES FUNCTION: company sales is properly identified for increasing the performance level of
sales departments. The process is start from the planning and ends with the controlling. ABC
company followed this in a very good manner so that task is to be achieved and performance should
be increased. Effective sales leads to effective customer attraction.
1.3 Evaluate the output of the process and the elements required to build a quality gateway, which
focuses on the output of the process.
ABC, Recruitment company had drawn a business process for their own sake. Various
imputes are required to give an output. A company drawn a process and it should be evaluated in a
very systematic way (Reason, 2016).
Evaluation of output process: Thinking: Start the process by helping to think about the output process. Because thinking
is the most important part for evaluation of the output of the process. Planning: Next step is the planning if any changes required in the process of output.
Planning plays an effective tool for the recruitment company to recruit a candidate a proper
plan is to be framed. Collecting: To collect the information related to the output of the process and make a plan
according to these. Communicating: Effective communication is required for evaluation. An output of any

work should be measured by company should be communicated to all.
 Contracting: If any additional information is required (Sharma, 2016). Implementing: A Plan should be implemented for evaluation of the output process.
 Discussing: An output process is evaluated which is discussed by each members of the
company. The evaluation process of output shows the strength and weakness so that all are
putting more effort to overcome with this weakness.
The quality gateway is an organizational point through which all the requirement pass. It prevents
the incorrect requirements from passing into the design and implementing. Various elements are
required like: quality assessment, quality measurement, quality managements. This all elements are
required to increasing the performance of the company (Kerzner, 2013).

2.1 Designing a plan to promote goals and objectives of ABC Company
According to the case, the company is facing inadequate and ineffective management which
influences organisational practices Due to this, operational manager of firm has to focus on short
term and long term objectives to achieve their goals and objectives to maximize their revenue.
Company has to follow various steps to design a plan (Eldredge and et.al., 2016). These steps are as
follows:
Analysis of internal and external environment: Operational managers need to conduct the
external and internal audit for attaining the goals of company. For internal environment, SWOT
analysis will be the best technique to analyse the internal environment of firm. On the other hand,
manager of ABC Company can apply Pestle for analysing external environment. By internal audit,
managers will be able to determine the resources and capital of organisation to achieve the
objectives in effective manner (Eldredge and et.al., 2016).
Organising of training and development programme: Operational manger of company can
arrange appropriate training and assessment programs for developing the skills and knowledge of
employees as per the assigned tasks. Training will be important for improving the skills and
knowledge that will lead to help in achieving the goals of company (Marodin and Saurin, 2015).
Allocation of roles and responsibilities as per the skills of exiting employee: From the
above analysis, managers found skilled human resources to accomplish the goals in effective
manner. After making analysis, company’s managers need to allocate the roles and responsibilities
to individuals depending on the skills and knowledge they possess. This will help to increase the
motivation and satisfaction of workforce of ABC Company by which the goals of firm can be
attained in positive manner (Bajec and Krisper, 2005).

Regular monitoring: From all the following steps, company’s managers are required to
monitor and measure timely activity that will improve the performance of firm.
Therefore, the above strategic plan will be essential to manage the activities and for
improving the performance of business as per the defined objectives.
2.2 Using SMART objectives, giving recommendations to align people
As per the given case, SMART objectives of company are as follows:
 To expand the business worldwide by the year 2025.
 To increase the sales volume of company by 25% at the end of 2016.
 To reduce the absenteeism of employees at least 5% till the year end.
 To improve the leadership and management practices of ABC company.
 To establish upgraded technologies in order to improve the operational functions.
By aligning objectives of employees with the goals of company, manager of ABC can
effectively deal with the operational activity. In this context, managers in ABC Company should
hire the best suitable human resources who have skills and capabilities to execute the operational
actions within the specified time (De Clercq, Lim, and Oh, 2013). The manager can also recruit the
experienced personnel who have leadership quality and clear vision about the company. Because
they have broad and strategical idea for achieving the objectives of company. In every strategic
planning session operational mangers have conducted the activity in order to establish effective
process. In this context, manager gathered all executives who agreed upon changing process with in
organisation. The effective leadership will help in reducing the level of turnover among employees.
To align working people with the targets that firm wants to achieve, manager of ABC Company
should allocate the right job to appropriate candidate as per the capability which will motivate him
to improve his performance. Along with this, international expansion of ABC have chosen strategic
plan to be based on business research for improving product quality (Dijkman, La Rosa and Reijers,
2012).
SMART is the term which is the most helpful for the ABC limited in order to achieve its
goals and objectives in proper and appropriate manner. SMART is defined and analysed below:
 S: Letter S stands for specific in which goals and objectives needs to be very specific and
well defined as well. Further, to the individuals who involve in order to achieve objectives
needs to provide information and knowledge properly and in an adequate manner.
 M: Another letter i.e. M stands for measurable where employees and individuals can
measure that specific goal and objective will be achieve within how many times. Moreover,
when they able to know about the time frame then easily frame strategies and goals for

 A: According to A letter of SMART the goals and objectives must be agreed by all the
stakeholders who plays an important role in the firm.
 R: As per the realistic which stands for R letter of SMART the goal must be proper and in
order to achieve it effective resources, time as well as knowledge has to be there at the
workplace of ABC limited.
 T: Last letter T stands for time based which shows that for achieve agreed targets and
objectives of ABC limited adequate time should be there. Further, there is not too much time
should be because it leads to hamper performance of overall project and goals.
2.3 Implement appropriate system to achieve the objectives on time and meeting standards of
quality
After analysing the internal and external environment, company might be used two system
to ensure the quality of product and services is better process in ABC. Implementing Appropriate
system to achieve the objectives on time as follows:
Six sigma system: This would allow the organisation to rearrange quality standards into the already
existing standards in the process and improving them to a higher level. The managers seek to
develop the innate quality of the operational standards and their process. By using this system,i
allows to identify and removal of the errors into the operational functions. In this context, the
manager also predict in the manufacturing and organisational business process to achieve the higher
sales volume by 25 % at the end of year (Aversano, Grasso and Tortorella, 2016). This system also
creates relevant data information which is required by the employee to improve the quality
standards within the organisation. By implementing this, the managers can increase the efficiency
and decrease the wastage with the use of empirical quality standards.
Quality Audit system: This is carried out by the internal or external quality auditors or audit team.
This team provides timely and accurate quality standards in order to improve the business practices
within the organisation. The operational managers can set up at predetermine time intervals so as to
maintain the quality standards of ABC company (Schneider, Ehrhart and Macey, 2013).
2.4 Carry out work activities meeting the operational plan
Monitoring work activity and identify the problems and opportunities for improvement in
the operational plan meeting the objective of the ABC company. The manager conveys the
information which helps to maintaining the strong relationship between management and
subordinates. The professional relationship will help in exchanging the information about the
strategic operational plan. It will also reduce the difference between the actual performance and

As per the case study, ABC company is managing the inappropriate and ineffective
management practices that causes of the worst deficits in the company. Further, senior has designed
system to manage and monitor quality standards. These are described below:
Amendments of ISO(International organisation for standards): The operational managers use this
practical tools for tackling many global challenges. By this, the managers ensure that the products
and services are safe, reliable and good quality. In this context, the managers are strategic plans to
reduce costs by minimizing waste and error in the system in order to increase the productivity.
Therefore, the ISO helps the company to access new markets and facilitate free and fair global trade
(Albon, Iqbal and Pearson, 2016).
TQM(Total quality management) : It describes the culture, attitude and management practices of
the company that strives to deliver high quality products and services to customers. The system
focus for continuous improvement in the employee, appropriate evaluation of performance at every
level and in all areas of responsibility. It combines fundamental techniques, existing improvement
efforts and specialized tools under predetermine standards which focuses to continuous
improvement in business process.
Quality Circle: By this tool, ABC company establish a team who do the similar activity in order to
solve work related problem of in operational department. The team is usually led by the supervisor
or manager of operational unit and present the solutions in order to improve the performance of
organisation (Ban and et.al., 2013).
3.2 Quality culture to ensure continuous monitor, evaluate and develop the process
Quality culture starts with leadership in terms of understanding and believes the implications
of the system view. The understanding of quality culture where a positive internal environment and

creation of customers is the outcome of the ABC company. It is a culture emphasizes on continuous
improvement of business process that results in healthy workplace, satisfied customers and growing
with profitability (Gimpel and et.al., 2013). The successful approaches to develop quality culture in
ABC industry is focusing on the main functions of quality: Togetherness: The company is not just focusing on revenue from building, assets and
employee but focuses customers and suppliers. The managers direct the win-win goal from
all the parties. Open, honest communication: The manager of ABC company is creating the quality culture
where the employee listen to one another. It is the culture where individuals is understood
open, honest communication (Wagner, 2015). Information is accessible: In this, the managers is open about sharing information on the
company strategic plan because this data provides a direction in order to achieve the
improvement in process. Focused on processes: The managers use approaches to fix the problems and improve in the
process by focusing the business.
 Learning experiences: The managers never predict certainty whether he does the best
which is based on the experience, information, understanding and happening (Marodin and
Saurin, 2015).
3.3 Recommend improvement which align the organisation's objective
As per discussed operational objectives, the ABC company are required to focus the
strategic plan in order to improve the process. The operational managers assign the roles and
responsibilities to individuals as per skills and knowledge. This will lead improvement in their
performance that will increase the sales volume. The company managers use appropriate tools to
motivate and satisfied the employee in order to increase effectiveness of organisation (Lee, Lv, and
Hong, 2013). The managers include salary and benefits, incentives and compensation, bonus etc.
that satisfied the employee in job. Through this, the turnover ratio will be reduce as per fulfilling
needs of the employee at workplace. The managers need to use democratic leadership style which is
suitable for team member's satisfaction. ABC company also assure about to maintain the
professional relationship among the employees and employer (Tan and et.al., 2014).
Thus, better coordination among the department will improve the control system within the
organisation. Due to these functions, the managers can helps the organisation to achieve the
strategic objective. Based on improvement, the team sanctioned the design and develop brand
image which is further recommended for improvement in the process. From this, managers also

the process. This reduces the down time and improve productivity of the company process.
Therefore, implementation of improvement system in organisation ensure the objective of the
company is fulfilled as per the expectation of the operational managers (Hu and et.al., 2013).
3.4 Report on the wider implications of proposed changes within ABC Company
According to the case, the organisation is not able to focus on the management practices and
leadership style which reflects the operational functions of ABC company. The managers are
required to develop number of business strategy in order to improve overall performance of the
company. To adopt the new technology, the company increases the capacity of the operational
department (Russ and et.al., 2013). This changes indicate the drawback and improve the existing
process within the industry. Furthermore, the company also organise training and development
program so the employee develops the skills and capabilities. Proposed changes also focus on the
policies and framework of HR department regarding employee salary and benefits. The changes
enhance the motivation and satisfaction of the employee. This will enhance trust, beliefs into the
customers that directly impact on the sales of the company Due to this, the managers can implement
the strategic plan in order to reduce the wastage and cost of production. The changes can be review,
control and measure regularly which will improve the performance of the organisation (Andersen
and Kragh, 2013). Along with this, the company adopt various system in order to improve the
existing process by which the company expand their business globally.

4.1 Plan how to carry out risk assessments and action taken
Every company having a risk no matter it is for the long period or the short period.
Plan for carry out the risk assessment: Identified hazards(anything that may cause harm): Company having a responsibility to
assess the health and safety risks faced by their workers. A company must check for
physical, mental, chemical and biological hazardous. Decide who may be harmed, and how: Company should properly assess the risk and
identified who is at risk first. From this, they will assess the risk faced by the agency and
contract staff, visitors and other members of the public on their premises (Sikdar and
Payyazhi, 2014). Assess the risk and take actions: Sometime after assessing the risk some risk should also
remain in the premises. So company must decide for remaining hazardous and take a
preventing action to remove the risk (Wagner, 2015).

 Make a record of the findings: It is required to maintained the proper record of the risk
assessments in written form. This record should include the details of hazards and action
taken for these hazards.
 Review the risk assessment: Lastly to review the over all plan and take effective action to
remove the risk (Gallyamova and et.al., 2014).
This all steps are taken by the company and appropriate action is taken to solve that problem. ABC,
recruitment company faced a risk problem in many areas they easily solve that problems by taking
the all the steps. So hazardous risk is to be identified and appropriate action is to be taken by
company to solve the employees' problem in the workplace.
4.2 Demonstrate that health and safety regulations and legislation are correctly applied
ABC, Company should always take an effective measure related to the health and safety at
the workplace. Risk assessment is a primary function of the company. Various laws are made under
this health and safety regulations act. These regulations are correctly applied in the specific
workplace which give a positive feedback (Caspin-Wagner and et.al., 2013). So many regulations
are made like:
 It is required that manufacturer should ensure as their product are reasonably safe, and
provide much information on safety precautions.
 It makes provision for the appointment of the trade union or employees safety
representatives.
 Instant provisions are available in case of any loss (Levant, Coulmont and Sandu, 2016).
So, company should followlowe the different steps and taking corrective action to solve these
problems.
There are many regulations made which shows that all are correctly applied in the workplace like:
 Making assessment of risk
 Appoint competent persons to over see workplace health and safety
 Providing workers with training
 Operating policy
 Adequate lighting, heating, ventilation.
 Provide health and safety information (Chau and et.al., 2012).
This all steps should have taken by the company which shows that regulations are applicable in the
work place more effectively and give a favourable outcome. Company maintained their workplace
regular so that employees should be retained in the company. Laws are made in accordance which is
more effectively applied in any situation at any workplace and lots of efforts are made on this

4.3 Plan how to carry out a systematic review of organizational health and safety policies and
procedures in order to ensure they are effective and compliant.
Health and safety policies and procedures are part of a framework for effective health and
safety management. Specific policies and procedures address particular issues. It should be properly
carried out by management in responsible manner. Preparing a health and safety policy is important
step towards providing and maintaining a work environment that is safe. (Spieth, Schneckenberg
and Ricart, 2014).
Various Plans to carry out a specific review of organizational health and safety policies and
procedures:
 Identified workplace hazards and issues.
 To collect the information related to the hazardous issues.
 To prepare and identified the policy.
 Implement the policy.
 Review (Marodin and Saurin, 2015).
Employees and employers of a company should clearly know their duties and responsibility at the
work place. For the systematic review the following points should be considered:
 The structure of the organization and persons responsible for health and safety in the
workplace
 The particular health ans safety risk which may be present in peoples job roles
 The importance of being aware of hazards and the risk which may arise in the type of work
place (Bagley and et.al., 2016).
 All are properly reviewed so that company performance is increased.
4.4 Carry out practical application of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace for
ABC Company
A safety and health policies and procedures provides the safe and health work environment
on the workplace of ABC company. Government limits working hour, child labour, industrial
inspections and introducing compensation if any injury occurred at working environment. In this
context, company follows health and safety work Act 1974 that has responsibility to protect the
employee at work (Tan and et.al., 2014). Under legislations, managers are required to take care not
only of their employees but also the other people who are visiting for business purpose. It also
makes provision for appointment of trade union or employee safety representative who elaborate
the safety measurement at workplace. The managers of ABC company also establish the health and

safety commission which has responsibility to enforce the laws on the working environment. Other
than this, the company also establishes “The Management of Health and Safety at work regulation
1999” which is applies on the work activity. The main requirement is to established in order to carry
out the risk assessment (Reason, 2016).
CONCLUSION
The current research conclude that the ABC company needs to understand the business
process in order to achieve the goals of organisation. The company designs various systems to
mange and monitor the quality standards in business process. By this, company demonstrate quality
culture that ensure continuous monitoring and development of process for ABC company. Along
with this, management carry out risk assessment by legislation, regulation that ensure the
appropriate action is taken by ABC organisation. The manager of company reviews the policies and
procedure in order to increase the effectiveness of the company. Further more, the company is
focusing to implement Total quality management, ISO system, quality circle in order to control and
monitor the management practices.
