INTRODUCTION Throwing light in relation with the Facilities operation management, it is defined as oneof the strategic area of a business for the purpose of carrying out operations effectively and togain sustainability in the market through quality offerings (Stevenson and Hojati, 2007). Thecurrent research report also discusses about the principle standards being required by the firm tohave proper management of facilities operation. For this purpose, Green Park Hotel in London istaken under consideration for the current research study. The hotel is underperforming from pastfew years and it is undergoing problems such as lower level of satisfaction among the customers,low occupancy rate, low retention of customers etc. Pertaining to this, the manager has decidedto introduce a new culture of organizational responsibility and also like to refurbish the hotel soas to make it more appealing to the customers. Responsibilities of facility manager towardscustomers, staff and operations of the building will be analyzed significantly. Further, as theFacilities Manager of the hotel, guidance will be provided on the statutory and legal perspective.Additionally, control and administrative strategies for effective business performance will alsobe discussed in the later part of the report. TASK – 1(RESEARCH REPORT)1.1Responsibilities of Facility manager for staff Facilities operations management is defined as a process of managing the operationsthrough prosecuting different strategies so as to achieve a sustainable advantage for the firm inthe market. Facility manager is in charge of managing all this process and is considered as thehead of the property of hotel in London. His responsibilities towards the staff are as follows:Clarity of roles and responsibilities – It is the responsibility of the facility manager tomake the staff members aware about their roles and responsibility in the operations of thehotel (Hilton London Green Park, 2018). Smooth management and operations – Facility manager is required to make sure thatadequate staff has been appointed for carrying out the activities. Further, he needs toensure that human resource, financial and operational budget are allocated effectively inthe beginning of the year. Grievances should be resolved by him at the earliest for thesmooth flow of operations. 1
