INTRODUCTIONThe function of management and operations are responsible for planning, coordinatingand controlling all the resources which are needed to produce products and services for anorganisation. The role of operational management in a company is to transform inputs intooutputs where human sources, materials, technologies and capital are input resources whereasgoods and services are taken as output. It also provides an efficient transformation whereefficiency means performing activities at least cost. It also takes important decisions in acompany like strategic and tactical. Mass communication, supply chain, outsourcing, leanmanufacturing, agility, etc. are some new concepts and trends (Loucks and Van Beek, 2017).The present report has been prepared to highlight role of managers and leaders in theorganisations which helps in improvement of production efficiency as well as development ofhigh quality projects. This report also increases the importance of leadership and managementtheories in context of operational management in Marks & Spencer which is a leadingmultinational company in the UK. Its main headquarter is in London and was founded in the year1884. It mainly deals in retailing sector which includes the products of clothing, home andluxury food products. TASK 1P1. They are concerned with appraisal of performances of allemployees by implementing it in regular intervals of time . Leaders: Leaders play an important role in a company. They use to motivate all workersthrough their leadership. Their main purpose behind motivation is to influence employees in theirperformance which increases efficiency, productivity and profitability in company.
