INTRODUCTION
Globalisation has positively influenced company's operations and economic growth of
country in effective manner. Present report deals with Tesco PLC engaged in retail sector and
research will be conducted on how globalisation drives business success. First of all, research
proposal will be made, then research methodologies will be applied in effective manner. Thus,
data analysis would be done and research outcome will be attained.
MAIN BODY
P1 Producing research proposal by supporting with literature review
Background
Globalisation has led to financial shift of companies from one country to another leading
to achieve growth in the best way possible. It has also paved for the way for the emerging
economies to export their goods and services and accomplish overall economic growth quite
effectually (Pettinger. 2017). It promotes sense of cultural awareness, international cooperation

Research Questions
Q1. What are the factors of globalisation leading to accomplish success of Tesco PLC?
Q2. Do globalisation really benefits cross-border sales of Tesco PLC?
Q3. How globalisation can help Tesco PLC to accomplish growth and success?
Literature Review
Theme 1- Relationship of globalisation and growth
As per the views of Henderson (2017), globalisation has paved the way for increasing
overall growth of companies and it has directly benefited economy up to a major level.
Production has been increasingly specialised and equipments or machineries not available in
home country for production can be outsourced to another country to achieve economies of
scale. This enhances specialisation and enables lower cost of production and consecutively lower
priced goods for final customers in effective manner. It can be said that globalisation and growth
has constructive relationship and leads to enhancement of overall production and good quantum
of profits.
Grayson and Hodges (2017) says that globalisation has been fruitful for developing
economies which requires growth in order to scale up their economy to developed nations by
exporting goods in abundant quantity. It can be analysed that due to globalisation, expansion of
operations of organisations can be achieved leading growth of economy with ease. Moreover,
investment has also attracted nations for meeting short-term and long-term requirements. In
addition to this, investment made by multinational corporations play crucial role in increasing
economy level of developing countries. Thus, growth and globalisation have direct effect on
country in accomplishing economic growth.
Theme 2- Trade liberalisation and globalisation
According to Kanjere (2017), trade liberalisation is way to exchange goods and services
by one country to another by way of currencies. This attracts country which has specialisation in
manufacturing goods especially where there is comparative advantage over another. Trade

liberalisation increases availability of goods in one's own country which may not be available.
Wide variety of goods are imported and exported by which customers can choose desired
products from pool of commodities. This also increases competition among domestic companies
to innovate ideas and offer desired goods to customers.
Miklian, Schouten, Horst and Rolandsen (2018) argues that globalisation has been the
key for scaling up business in the best way possible. Trade liberalisation has been accomplished
because of free flow of goods and services across borders in effective manner. Capital flows are
increased which have been favourable to companies to enhance their operations on global basis
and nation gets advantage in form of equilibrium in economy. The international trade cycle has
increased leading to achieve growth of countries. This means that through perfect integration of
globalisation and trade liberalisation, overall economic advantage has been accomplished.

of profits in effective manner. This has led to achievement of desired objectives with ease. The
significance of current research is that scholar will be able to analyse and assess the factors
which leads to success of Tesco PLC in its global operations. Furthermore, interest of researcher
in globalisation is another significant factor which has been adopted to conduct research on.
Thus, significance of research in order to provide benefits of globalisation has attracted scholar
for conducting research on this topic.
Research Methodology
Research Type-
The research type consists of quantitative and qualitative methods which can be used by
researcher. In current research, scholar will use quantitative methods in order to undergo
numerical analysis of research topic (Ledford and Gast, 2018.).
Research Approach-
There are mostly used two types of research approaches such as inductive and deductive
approach. For present research, researcher will utilise deductive approach for forming particular
theory to specific.

Research Design-
3
Research design is schema of research project or plan which guides researcher to execute
research as per the plan. There are two types of research design as descriptive and exploratory
design which are widely used. Researcher will implement exploratory research design in order to
take in-depth analysis of globalisation on success of Tesco PLC.
Research Philosophy-
There are two types of research philosophies such as interpretivism and positivism.
Researcher will use interpretivism philosophy for conducting research and interpret results in a
better way (Fletcher, 2017).
Sampling-
Sampling technique namely simple random sampling will be used by researcher. Online
questionnaire will be issued to 30 managers of Tesco PLC for assessing their viewpoints on how
globalisation is helping business to accomplish success.
Data collection-
Data collection will be taken from primary sources such as through questionnaire. Along
with it, secondary sources will also be used by taking access to books, journals, reliable articles
on internet etc.
Data analysis-
Data analysis will be conducted in order to analyse collected data quite effectively.
Researcher will conduct thematic analysis by producing themes from questionnaire data. Thus,
data will be analysed with ease and graphs will also be prepared (Walliman, 2017).

P2 Examining appropriate research methods and approaches to primary and secondary research
There are various sources from which data can be gathered in the best manner possible.
More frequently, primary and secondary sources are used for data collection in effective manner.
In relation to this, researcher is required to collect primary source of data with the help of
questionnaire being circulated to managers of Tesco PLC. This provide researcher to analyse
viewpoints of respondents on how globalisation has lead to successful business. Primary data has
major influence on analysing viewpoints of managers and then generate results (Alvesson and
Sköldberg, 2017).
On the other hand, secondary data is already collected data and has been used by
researcher for previous research. Scholar can use this data which serve the purpose of current
research so as to arrive at constructive conclusion. The resources such as books, library, journals,
articles published on internet etc. Thus, both the resources have been used for conducting
research in effective manner.

before starting research. Without incurring expenses, research cannot be conducted. The
expenditures such as travelling costs, internet expenditures, printing are incurred for project.
Ethical issues-
The ethical issues have been undertaken and without prior permission of respondents,
data has not been used. Moreover, research objectives have been disclosed to them and thus, no
force has been exercised on them to gather data.
Access-
Access has been taken from secondary sources in order to provide with better insight
about the research topic. Reliable sources such as books, journals, published articles are being
taken with permission and thus, utilised for collecting data (Clifford, 2017).
P4 Applying analytical tools and assessing research findings
Research Type-
Quantitative method is being applied for assessing research for taking out numerical
analysis. Thus, researcher has taken quantitative method for generating results.
Research Approach-
Researcher has applied deductive approach in hand so as to effectively formulate theory
from general to specific. Thus, desired results have been accomplished.
Research Design-
Scholar has implemented exploratory research design in order to explore globalisation
subject as it is a wide topic. Hence, this design has been applied for achieving results.

P6 Reflecting on effectiveness of research methods applied in project
The research has been conducted in order to arrive at better results. I have gathered
appropriate data by which I'm able to enhance my communication skills in a better way.
Moreover, my data analytical skills have been improved. Furthermore, I'm able to assess how
globalisation drive Tesco PLC to achieve success. On the other hand, quantitative method has
been applied in order to assess numerical data in effective manner. Thus, research outcome is
being carried out.
