INTRODUCTION
Healthcare environment are established mainly to provide and improvement in health
care of patients by providing health treatments, diagnosis, injury and prevention of disease etc.
so that human being can recover their illness on proper time and in proper way (Atkinson, 2014).
Access of health care organization in various countries have influence many social and
economic condition as well as health policies through this clients are getting more aware
socially. Silver Line is UK based health care setting which was founded in 2012 and their main
area of serving is UK. Services they are providing for elder people is by telephonic so by this
they may pickup patient and provide proper treatment so that they may recover there problems.
In this report it will discussed about vision, mission and stakeholders of organization and also
expanding there health care setting by analyzing PESTEL for organization.

1 .
In every organization there is governance system and in Silver line also same is present.
In order to govern activities of the Silver line there is well developed structure in the Silver line.
In the mentioned organization there is the Board of Trustees which look after effective
implementation of the business strategies of the firm (Atwal, and Jones, 2009). There is a small
team of the employees who is responsible for implementing decisions taken by the Board of
Trustees. This team is lead by the Chief executive of the organization who look after effective
implementation of the firm business strategy. The main work of board is to manage cash that is
received in charity. In this regard Board approved the business plan, budget and strategy related
to the risk management in the day to day activities. Before taking any final decision approval
from all Board members is taken. Hence, any one individual cannot dominate entire board
(Bruno, 2010). In the organization there is a finance and governance committee which is
subcommittee of the main board. Finance committee review budgets time to time reviewed
organization budget and propose necessary changes that must be made to the Board of Trustees.
These trustees according to inputs provided by the committee members take decisions.
Vision statement of Silver line: The vision of the Silver line is to become the country's number
helpline service provider to the elder people. In order to achieve this vision in recent years

trustees have taken a number of steps. It is the effectiveness of their decisions which make
organization effective.
Mission statement of Silver line: The mission of The Silver Line is to provide best health care
services to people to improve their quality of life (Earp, 2008).
Stakeholders of Silver line
Definition: Stakeholders refers to those person which affect organizational actions, objectives
and policies whether internally and externally and involves middle, top and lower level
managers such as suppliers, creditors, government, directors etc. Local authorities: Local authorities refers to the local state departments that are related
to health sector in different ways. Silver line alone cannot approach to all relevant elder
people. Hence, it is local authorities that can help Silver line to reach to relevant people.
Government hospital management that look after public health can identify aged people that
are alone and not one care them. Through local authorities easily relevant people can be
traced by the firm. Members of Silver line: Those individuals that take a membership of the organization
can also make people aware about Silver line and can recommend elder people that are
exploited or alone to take help of the mentioned firm (Martin, 2010). These members as
member are very important stakeholder of the firm. Founder of the firm: One who put foundation of the Silver line is also important
stakeholder of the firm. This is because it is those who established the firm. Thus, if they will
organize some functions or programs people will cautiously listen him and will help
organization in achieving its objective. Employees of the public limited company: Employees of Silver line are one of the
important stakeholder. This is because they are part of the society and are have good
knowledge the social issues that people around them face in their day to day life (Moos,
2012). Employees of the firm can help of age people and cannot fight for them. Government: Government is the one of the main stakeholder of the firm. This is because
government work for the well being of the people. Elder people are part of society and it is
government top priority to help old age people. Government has new wave to grant of huge
amount to the firm. Hence, government have very high importance for the firm as a
stakeholder.

 Local community: Local community is another important entity that have great
importance for the firm as a stakeholder. Local community help old age needy people by
establishing their contact with the Silver line. These people communicate their problem
and firm solve it. Thus, Local community is the important stakeholder because it help
firm in achieving its objectives (Petch, 2012).
Corporate governance :- In simpler terms, corporate governance can be defined as an appropriate
system which consists of specific set of rules and practices that are being used for carrying out
management and control of a particular business enterprise.
Evaluation of Corporate governance :- it is defined as system of practices, rules through which
operations of an enterprise gets controlled. It is defined as framework by which management of
an organization assure transparency of work procedures for all the stakeholders of the business.
If proper balance of mechanism under corporate governance is not done than it will led toward
reducing profitability and growth of the venture. Proper rules and policies formulated by
management will support in accomplishing desired objectives of business in successful manner
by involving positive support of stakeholders.

Organizational structure: It means that how activities are allocated, coordinated and
supervision which help in directing towards there goals and achievements through this they will
work effectively. It consist of two kind that are functional and matrix structure.
Functional Structure consist of smaller organization groups because they are specialized
in functional areas such as IT, finance and marketing. Benefits of this structure helps
organization in increasing efficiency and productivity of firm. In addition to this, here, lack of
teamwork is involved therefore, it is difficult to to work in organization as whole.

In order to understand the firm organizations structure it is very important to understand
the diagram given above. From above diagram it can be clearly observed that there is a Board of
Trusts. This board may comprise 4 to 56 people or more.
Matrix organizational structure of silver line :- under this organizational structure in
which staff members are required to report at two level of management. It supports in doing
pro[per monitoring of the work performed by the staff members. By making use of this technique
resources of the organization can be used in optimum manner and goods and projects are
formally and properly coordinated across various functional departments. It also supports in
making information flow across upward and horizontal communication channel. There are some
disadvantages associated with this structure. Staff members finds it difficult to report to two
authorities and due to it sometimes confusion is created due to which overall productivity of the
venture gets hampered.
These aboard members are handling two committee’s namely corporate governance committee
and finance committee. It can be said that both committees are playing prominent role in the
proper management of the organization (Renaud, and Goucher, 2012). It is that committees that
are ensuring effective implementation of strategy at the ground level. On other hand, there is a
chief executive who is directly reporting to the Board of trustees. Chief executive is responsible
for managing all employees at the workplace. He is giving personal attention to each and every
employee activity at the workplace. He ensured that employees are performing in systematic way
at the workplace and giving their 100% efforts in relation to achievement of organization
objective.

It is clear from the diagram that the committees that are named above does not have any
direct relevance or connection with the employees. Diagram revealed that Board of Trustees are
responsible to manage operations at top level. In this regard they receive useful inputs from the
committee and take decision on basis of same (Sharma, and Jeong, 2012). On other hand chief
executive give necessary guidance to the employees in respect to effective implementation of
strategy at ground level.

PESTEL is external factors which help organization in determining there tools easily. For
analyzing of macro factor every organization need to conduct analysis on PESTEL because it
covers all factors and help in identifying proper and suitable rules and regulation of health care
organisation. Therefore, analysis all factor it help in expanding The Silver Line is administration
all survey regarding to there organisation. PESTEL involves of political, economic, socio-
logical, technological, environmental and legal these all factors will be consider at The Silver
Line which are as under:
Political factors: At Silver Line political factor influence of two main factors that are
lower public expenditure and private investment. The silver line, Southwark, need to care quality
commission need to consist because it help in making policies, procedure regarding to elder
people. Public expenditure may involve of government functions and tax incentives however,
government functions may involve of drug inspector, change in drug importing policies, Care
Act, Health and Safety Act, safe guarding, environmental laws and government stability and
initiative (Warburton, and Black, 2002). In addition to this, private investment may also affect
health care organisation by promoting medical tourism and privatization.
These are some political factors which affect working and expanding of their businesses
in health care sector. According to government infrastructure of health care organisation need to
be proper and well developed because if proper building is not there then government will not
permit licensees. This will affect in working style and establishing of health care home for elder
people.
Economic factor: This factor is metrics for measuring of health of economic region.
These factors are determinants for economy performance that directly impact health care setting

and affect for long term (Zeshan, and Mohamad, 2012). Southwark, also involves of percentage
of elder people who are employed, percentage of pension receiving from private to elder and
also emphasize on percentage of how many aged people received benefits. This factor include of
economic growth, inflation, exchange rate of currencies and interest rate. Economic factor
consist of macro and micro economic in which macro factors deal with demand in economy such
as government's interest rate, budget expenditure and while planning of budget and tax policies.
In addition to this, The Silver Line also need to consider which are disposable income of
elder people, credit accessibility, employment turnover rates and inflation. However, it will
affect on purchasing power of elder people and this will affect demand and supply for economy.
While The Silver Line, may includes of planning their budget because during expanding of older
care home cost of project may also rises with time and this will lead to increase in expenditure of
health care organization.

Social factor: Social influence into consideration of attributes such as demographic
population, income distribution, lifestyle changes, social mobility and there leisure and spending

power and capacity to purchase (Shrivastav, Shrivastav, Makkar, and Biffi, 2013). This factor
also involve of percentage of elder population by differentiating ethic group, percentage of
elderly basis on isolation, from this they get depressed and emphasizing on mental health needs.
These factors directly affect service users and through this demand and service of health care
organization also changes with determining of social environment such as cultural, population,
social mobility, educational and vocational qualification and working conditions of The Silver
Line.
Elder people at Southwark, mentality and treatment require huge time because of every
individual consist of different problem and their treatment will also be different. In older age
there internal body recovery gets slowdown and they need more awareness and high dose for
their body therefore time involvement in there treatment is high. In health care organisation
increase in clients awareness will lead to rise in expectation and price transparency will includes
of pressure on service users.
Technological factors: Information technology development is rising and changing with
change in environmental issues therefore, technological factors can remove barriers while
entering into market. This will help in bring of new treatment method and by using of innovative
tools, equipment's and techniques which are defined and research has been conducted in relation
with elder people (Peccoud, and et. al., 2014). This factor directly affect on running of any
project for aged people and also talk about organization surface and help in doing project
through them and usage of internet by elder people. The Silver Line economic because for new
and innovative tools and equipment cost to be incurred. This will affect on working style of older
care home people because new technologies in social media will demand organization in creating
new e-model for health care setting.
In health care organization Southwark, main factor was influences more by speedy in
development and transfer of technology. This factor concern for innovation in technology that
affect old care home by affecting and including of different operations of health care setting and
considering market condition and situation that are favorable and unfavorable which may
includes of automation, research development and amount of technological awareness in which
market dominate.
Environmental factors: In today's world environmental factor is becoming a major
challenge issue due to many restraint and scarcity of resources. These factors involve various

environmental issues such as rate of carbon emission, climate changes, habits, diseases, decrease
in raw material. In health care organisation main agenda is of environment and community
awareness need to make organization for doing more research for Eco-friendly options in health
care home (Square, 2013). At Southwark, these factor are included that are influenced and
determined by surrounding environment and diseases which are incurred from increase in
pollution rate and unorganized disposable of garbage causes many deceases and affect
environment.
If air and water is not pollution free than many elder people will suffer from decease
which will affect on working lifestyles of individual and will harm body to because elder people
need environment free from restraint. So, The Silver Line organization need to kept
environmental issues in mind before, expanding of their old care home because there need to be
proper drainage system, air and water so that they do not cause any deceases.
Legal factors: Legal issues influence old age home care by keeping company laws, labor
laws, remuneration laws and consumer rights, insurance policy and medical policy so that every
service users can take benefits of that and elder people can feel free from mind. Only this factor
consist of internal and external sides in health care organization because Doctor need to
understand service user problem and need to provide proper treatment also (Atkinson, 2014).
Therefore, The Silver Line, need to consider all laws before expanding of their health care
organisation because there need to be proper tools, equipment and doctors of different deceases
in care home so that elder people need not to think because if care home provide best doctors and
treatment for these people than no individual will get transfer.
Elderly people are facing problems at care home and there is need for make expansions
so that proper care should be provided to people who are residing in care home. All the macro
factors are positively supporting the decision for expanding the services of care home. If
operations of the care home will be expanded than more people will get benefit from charity
services provided by Silver line. The idea for expansion is good and various macro
environmental factors are in favor so management of care home should expand the structure so
that more number of elderly people can avail the services rendered by care home. In addition to
this, health care organization need to fulfill all requirements which are set by government for
expanding of their care home such as infrastructure, beds, doctor, medical treatments and
medicines so that no clients need not to run and bring medicines from outside. While, The Silver

Line need to be clarify all terms and policies before doing proper written work and agreement
work before expanding of their health care setting because if once's paper work is done than it
require huge time in changing and whole process of legalization will start from beginning and
will also results in delaying of older age care home and through this, economic cost of project
will also rise and patients of care home will also suffer (Atwal, and Jones, 2009).

Health care organization should follows some rules and regulation before managing of
expansion of their care home because at time of expansion may issues are to be considers such as
legal, environmental, technological, political, social, economic because if these issues are not
followed than organization may faces huge problems.
Recommendations for managing the operations of care home :-
 Perform a deep dive due diligence because health care setting should identify proper
market where large amount of elder people are residing in that area therefore, by
performing PESTEL and SWOT analysis The Silver Line can identify there proper areas
and then they should expand of there care home.
 Management can organize recruitment and selection process for hiring new employees so
that all the desired functions of care home should be executed in an effective manner.
 Skills of existing staff members can be improved so that they can provide better services
and care to patients residing in care home. Training program can be organized for staff
member so that necessary skills and knowledge can be imparted to them.
 Funds for running activities of the organization can be generated from taking assistance
from local people. Internet platform can be used for collecting finance from people and it
will help in expansion and by completing financial activities of care home.
 A legal adviser can be appointed in the company for taking assistance on various legal
matters. It will aid in managing the functions of Silver line in lawful manner and all the
policies and guidelines formulated by state will be followed in proper manner and will
result in expansion.
 Effective strategies and action plan can be formulated by management for managing the
operations of care home. Positive support from employees will help organization to
expand and this can be taken in it by involving them in the decision making process.

Recommendations and suggestions can be taken from employees by organizing a open
discussion forum.
CONCLUSION
From the above case it has been concluded that every health care organisation need to be
consider of proper rules, regulation, policies and procedure because if any health care
organization does not follow proper rules and regulation then it can be sued by organisation and
elder people will not prefer to come in this care home. The Silver Line need to consist of all
factors i.e. macro and micro while, macro consist of PESTEL and micro consist of SWOT. If
these two factors are well specified than health care setting may not faces problem in future and
it will attract more of service users.
