sessions.
Part 2: Ten-minute Microsoft® PowerPoint® style presentation with interactive links to suitable

appropriate. Your research should be referenced using the Harvard referencing system. The

Assignment Brief and Guidance
You have been asked to support your training and development manager with the planning and
implementation of a professional development event targeted at internal employees within the
organization that you work in.
The training event is scheduled over a one-day period in your center and will include four 1-hour
sessions. The center requires a schedule of the types of activities proposed so that plans can be
finalized. In addition, any guest speakers or motivational coaches will also require a minimum of
three weeks’ notice for all bookings.
You have also been asked to design and deliver a workshop as part your training. The event will be
based on marketing the college courses. (This could be a foundation year, the HND etc.)

I. Introduction
In this project, our GCS team will create a product for the visually impaired with the project "The
Second Eyes Project". Issues such as:
The visually impaired needs to go out but cannot see and often encounter obstacles such as
electric poles, vehicles.
They can use high technology but most of them don't have virtual assistants to help.
When they go out, the most common thing is not identifying where they are?
And that problem has a solution:
Create level vibration function to avoid obstacles.
Voice recognition device to handle requests of the visually impaired.
Determine the location and can connect with relatives.
And the most important part is that when my team launched this product achieves the goal of being a
second eye, help visually impaired people feel more confident when stepping out.

1. What is communication skill?
Communication skills are the ability to send messages that are properly an entirely received and
understood by the target audience. The term often applies to someone’s faculty of exchanging
information effectively with another person or group, in a verbal or written way. For example, a
very significant announcement is supposed to be made person-to-person instead of using an
electronic chat.
Categories of Communication:
There are a wide range of ways in which we communicate and more than one may be occurring
at any given time. The different categories of communication include:
Spoken or Verbal Communication, which includes face-to-face, telephone, radio or
television and other media.

Non-Verbal Communication, covering body language, gestures, how we dress or act,
where we stand, and even our scent. There are many subtle ways that we communicate
(perhaps even unintentionally) with others. For example, the tone of voice can give
clues to mood or emotional state, whilst hand signals or gestures can add to a spoken
message [1].
The Importance of Communication Skills:
Having strong communication skills aids in all aspects of life – from professional life to personal
life and everything that falls in between. From a business standpoint, all transactions result from
communication. Good communication skills are essential to allow others and yourself to
understand information more accurately and quickly. In contrast, poor communication skills lead
to frequent misunderstanding and frustration. In a 2016 LinkedIn survey conducted in the United
States, communication topped the list of the most sought-after soft skills among employers [2].
2. What Is Verbal Communication?
Verbal communication refers to the use of sounds and language to relay a message. It serves as a
vehicle for expressing desires, ideas and concepts and is vital to the processes of learning and
teaching. Example using affirmative sounds and words like “uh-huh,” “got you,” “I understand,”

for sure,” “I see,” and “yes” to demonstrate understanding [3].
Why is Verbal Communication Important?
Clarification is a key component of verbal communication.
Verbal communication helps to clarify misunderstandings and provides missing information.
It can also be used as a tool of persuasion and creates opportunities for debate, stimulates
thought and creativity, and deepens and creates new relationships [4].
3. What is Nonverbal Communication?
- Nonverbal communication is the transmission of messages or signals through a nonverbal
platform such as eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture, and the distance between two
individuals. For example, when you are talking to someone, a shrug and a roll of their eyes says, "I
don't like you" without saying a word.

Why is nonverbal communication important?
- Nonverbal communication is important because it gives us valuable information about a
situation including how a person might be feeling, how someone receives information and how to
approach a person or group of people. Paying attention to and developing the ability to read
nonverbal communications is an invaluable skill you can leverage at every stage of your career.
There are several ways nonverbal communication can support your ability to communicate
effectively in the workplace, including:
Supports your message. When having a conversation, participating in a meeting or
engaging in conversation, nonverbal cues can emphasize and underscore the content of
your message.
Communicates messages. You may also use nonverbal communication completely to
communicate with others.
Communicates intention. Your body language may also intentionally or unintentionally
express your current condition. For example, people may pick up nonverbal cues that you
are being dishonest, unengaged, excited or aggressive.
Conveys feelings. You can also use nonverbal communication to show your feelings,
such as disappointment, relief, happiness, contentment and more.
Offers support. Nonverbal cues are also a great way to show support. Whether it's a simple
smile or pat on the back, action may speak louder than words in many cases.
Showcases your personality. Nonverbal communication is a great way to show who you are.
Indicates a desired action. This might include inching toward a door to indicate your desire to
leave the room, raising your hand to offer an idea or putting your hand out to meet someone
new.
Deescalates tension. Using a calm tone of voice, open body language, and directive gestures
may help to resolve a difficult situation.

The most important aspect of both the modes of communication is that both are utilized
towards mutual understanding and ultimately bring about productive and satisfying

4. What is Group Communication?
Families, friendship circles, work teams, committees, and sports teams are all examples of
groups. Individuals belong to many types of groups. The quality of people's everyday lives
depends in important ways on the groups to which they belong. Much of the work and many of
the decisions that shape the world depend on the actions that groups take.
Why is group communication important?
Group communication is important to solve problems because in a group there will be many
people with different skills, so using those skills we can solve different problems easily. In group
communication scope for misunderstanding and conflict will be more than inter-personal
communication and in group communication it will be difficult to solve conflicts between group
members. Group communication is characterized by group. Therefore, in group communication
there will be less personal contact. However, it provides better scope for quick and easy feedback
and easy clarification. The group ranges in size from three to twelve or up to twenty. For example,
communication in committees, workgroups, family and so on require communicating with the

Time management refers to the way that you organize and plan how long you spend on
specific activities [11].

Why are time management skills important?
Time management skills are important because they help you structure your work in a way that
allows you to accomplish goals. For example, if your goal is to get a job, you need time to update
your resume, search for openings, apply, research companies and prepare for interviews. Setting
aside specific amounts of time per day will help you complete the necessary steps to getting a job.
Being fully present and focused results from strong time management skills. For example, if you
are running late to a meeting and must work on a project you forgot was due while people are
speaking, you might miss important information that could help you be better at your job.
Managing your time well also allows you to have space to be creative and proactive with your
goals. When you have a specific time set aside to complete your tasks, you can also allow for time
to think about the big picture for yourself and your company [11].

1. What Is Problem Solving?
- Problem solving is the act of defining a problem; determining the cause of the problem;
identifying, prioritizing, and selecting alternatives for a solution; and implementing a solution. For
example, if a job posting mentions that the company is looking for someone to help improve their
social media presence, you can identify keyways you might aid in increasing awareness of the
brand through various social media platforms.
The importance of problem-solving:
Problem solving is important in every trade. There is no aspect of life that is immune to the regular
onslaught of troubles. Improving your problem-solving skills will give you a divergent edge that will
certainly make you stand out from the crowd [12].
There are five problem solving steps you can use for most problems:
Define the Problem: The most important of the problem-solving steps is to define the problem
correctly. The way you define the problem will determine how you attempt to solve it. For
example, if you receive a complaint about one of your project team members from a client, the
solutions you come up with will be different based on the way you define the problem. If you
define the problem as poor performance by the team member you will develop different
solutions than if you define the problem as poor expectation setting with the client.

Determine the Causes: If you consider the problem as a gap between where you are now and
where you want to be, the causes of the problem are the obstacles that are preventing you from
closing that gap immediately.
Generate Ideas: Two great problem-solving methods you can use for coming up with solutions
are brainstorming and mind mapping.
Select the Best Solution: After you come up with several ideas that can solve the problem, one
problem solving technique you can use to decide which one is the best solution to your
problem is a simple trade-off analysis.
Take Action: Once you've determined which solution you will implement, it's time to take
action. If the solution involves several actions or requires action from others, it is a good idea
to create an action plan and treat it as a mini project [13].
2. Problem-Solving Tools:
+ Use Hurson's Productive Thinking Model: In his book Think Better, author and creativity
guru Tim Hurson proposed a 6-step model for solving problems creatively. The steps in his
Productive Thinking Model are:
Ask, "What is going on?" Define the problem and its impact on your company, then clarify
your vision for the future.
Ask, "What is success?" Define what the solution must do, what resources it needs, its scope,
and the values it must uphold.
Ask, "What is the question?" Generate a long list of questions that, when answered, will solve
the problem.
Generate answers. Answer the questions from step 3.
Forge the solution. Evaluate the ideas with potential based on the criteria from step 2. Pick a
solution.
Align resources. Identify people and resources to execute the solution.

+ Use a Fishbone Diagram to See Cause & Effect: The most important part of defining the
problem is looking at the possible root cause. You can get to the root cause with a Fishbone
Diagram (also known as an Ishikawa diagram or a cause and effect diagram). Basically, you put the
effect on the right side as the problem statement. Then you list all possible causes on the left,
grouped into larger cause categories. The resulting shape resembles a fish skeleton. Which is a
perfect way to say, "This problem smells fishy."
3. Problems and solutions in the training event:
+ Different styles: Our team has four members, so we have four different personalities, four different
levels. So, training will also be different for each team member. Solution:
In-depth needs analysis focuses and identifies the learning interests of each team member of
the project.
When defining or discussing something, it is necessary to give specific examples, close to
each member of the group.
Use tools like discussion forums to help people answer questions.
+ Organizing costs: to organize an event, it is necessary to consider a reasonable place in the right
place, people can easily get to. Such problems have solutions such as:
Work or group meetings on the Internet to exchange ideas, to save time, and optimize work
efficiency.
Risk management planning, the detailed calculation to control, and unnecessary arising.

P4. Demonstrate that critical reasoning has been applied to a given solution.
1. What is Critical thinking?
It refers to your ability to think constrainedly and to have reasoning that clearly defines what
beliefs you believe or what you are doing. It includes the ability to use independent thinking and
reflective thinking. For example, friend A says, "C is a poor student", Friend B relies on his
observations and statements during class time and asserts "C is a good student because ...". This is
a critical thinking, but at the same time B must also give the arguments and evidence that he
observes.
Critical thinking is important because it helps to identify problems clearly. It increases one's own
understanding and thinking abilities. Without critical thinking, we only see the superficialities of
things. Everything has good and bad sides, we are not sure we will be completely right, but thanks
to critical thinking, we can see the problem closest.
For example: When discussing problems encountered by the visually impaired in our "Second Eyes
Project" project, every member gives a lot of problems that the visually impaired people often have
thinks that their opinions are correct, but if I am the team leader, I need to look back at the actual
requirements that the visually impaired people often encounter, I will filter out ideas according to the
criteria, general-purpose, and issues. The actual problem that visually impaired people encounter in
everyday life and I will give the reason for it.

M1. Design a professional schedule to support the planning of an event, to

1. Introduction
In this task we must design detail schedule which includes every detail of the planning of our
event and contingencies plan and we also must write justification about time allocation.
2. Time Allocated
It is a period or money which is given to a person to do a certain task in a way. Time allocated is
very necessary for each person in the world because no one is perfect, and they need someone to
help them to do their task.
3. Schedule of an Event:
- We will split into 3 main phases:
+ Make real requirements, suitable policies for customers (2 months).
+ Use related software (4 months).
+ Give products to customers to try (2 months).
Expected progress: December 26, 2020 - September 1, 2021, divided into 3 main phases and in
which phase 2 will be divided into 2 sub-phases:
Phase 1 (December 26 - March 27) (The phase lasts until the middle of phase 2)
- Determine the project's objectives, analyze the necessary functions. During this stage, we will
analyze the customer's business requirements, the product is made based on the demand and
supply of the customer, from there on the product idea, hand over to the design and engineering

- Once we have clarified the project goal, we will seek support and prepare hardware and
software equipment. Specifically, during the capital raising period, Duong and Quynh Anh will
list ways to raise capital through a small-scale startup promotion such as Shark Tank Vietnam or
raise capital through the form of fundraising. This phase will start from phase 1 (December 26.)
and end at stage 2.1(April 27).
Phase 2 (February 27 - June 28):
In this phase, our team will process engineering, assemble the IoT and test products, and survey
the consumer market. Specifically, we divided it into 2 small phases such as: Applying WBS
(Work Breakdown Structure) to break the stage, help clarify the problem, and optimize
performance.

1. Introduce:
During this assignment, I have consulted and read on various websites about problem-
solving techniques. To solve the problem, I will use primary and secondary research. There
are many problem-solving techniques available to find a solution.

+ List possible solutions: First, I need to remove the group's concerns such as problems faced by

+ Monitoring: The final stage of the problem-solving process is to check if all steps were

2.2 The Cynefin Framework:

event Cynefin helps us to get the satisfactory conclusion. It is used to split the problem into the

context and it help to get suitable method to solve the problem.

As per the Question, I have used research about problem-solving techniques for my schedule. The
problem-solving technique is the technique that helps to find the problem and solution. There are
so many problems solving techniques, but I have used three problem-solving techniques. They are
the Six-step problem-solving method, The Cynefin Framework. Six steps problem-solving method
helps us to solve the problem by using six steps. They are Identify the problem, Analyze the
problem, explore information and Ideas, Select the best ideas, Implementation the ideas and
Evaluate the Outcome. It is so simple and easy method. This way helps us to solve the problem
more quickly. The last one is the Cynefin work is used to split the problem into five texts. If the
problem has occurred, then we place a problem in one of these five texts, and it will help to get the
best method to solve the problem.
Conclusion: In this task I have discussed about problem solving technique and with their
different types of problem-solving technique. At last I have also provided the justification of all
this technique.
M3. Justify the use and application of a range of solution methodologies.
1. Introduction
In this task, I am required to discuss the problem-solving methods. I am also required to
disused about a method used to solve the problem.
2. Problem solving method are the steps we use to find solutions to problems and issues. Humans
are naturally quite good at problem-solving, and we often use sophisticated methods that we don't
even know we're using to try to get to the answer. Learning about the methods will enable you to
recognize the approaches you already use and identify other approaches that could be useful for
you.
We choose three problem-solving methods are:
- Trial and error are a way of solving problems by attempting many times by trying something
until we are successful. It is an efficient method to solve the problem when we can base our
attempts based on knowledge and information.

For example, when my team is talking about how to improve team productivity. To solve that
problem, a team leader tried many principles to help the team work effectively, and so he found a
method to help people increase efficiency. He tried and tried until he found an effective solution
for the group.

the basic knowledge of IT Course. I have split their courses into different lecture.
For example: I must follow these steps to complete my team:

1. Introduction on Interpersonal Skills:
Interpersonal skill is a set of behavior which allow you to interact and communicate with other
people in a face-to-face setting while performing a job. It is all about working with other people.
Interpersonal skills are of different types and they may be verbal communication, non-verbal
communication, listening communication, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and
assertiveness. Negotiation is the process of making joint decision by avoiding the arguments
between different parties.
Problem solving means the process of transforming the details of a problem to reach the solution.
Decision making is a judgmental process of selecting a logical choice from the available options.
Assertiveness is a communication skill in which a person is confident and directly states their
thoughts and feelings while dealing with others. [9]
2. Effectiveness and application of Interpersonal Skills:
I have already discussed interpersonal skills, time management skills, and the use of various
problem-solving techniques in the previous task. So, I have the knowledge of communication
skills that I know how to communicate with others verbally (face-face communication) and non-
verbally (using gestures, postures, body languages, facial expressions, etc.)I also know that to be
a good communicator you need to pay attention to facial expressions, gestures, actions, postures
when communicating. I have also knowledge of how to do seminars, workshops, team activities,
etc., and how to manage the time period during seminars, workshops, or any training events to do
that any kinds of events in proper time.
Now, I can organize seminars or any kinds of events in the future. I know how to solve a problem
with problem-solving techniques with the help of identifying, analyzing and plan and
implementing, and evaluating which are very effective and application of interpersonal skills that I
have applied in the design and delivery of the two-day training events.

1. Introduction:
To meet the demand and requirement of this task, I am going to describe the critical reasoning
that I have applied in the two-day training event as referenced by the earlier task and by critically

native egocentrism and sociocentrism.
Critical thinking teaches you how to manage your time and resources by analyzing what is
necessary to the process. It also helps you to know that a decision is ultimately a good
one.
It teaches several skills that can be applied to any situation in life that calls for reflection,
analysis and planning.
It enhances languages and presentation skills. Thinking clearly and systematically can

Good critical thinking promotes such thinking skills which is very important in the fast-
changing workplace.
Aspects that I think I need to improve on when managing similar projects in the future:
The main step is the need to take reasonable money steps, improve management ability to

The second step is to pay attention to the employees' problems and when they understand
their concerns, they will work more efficiently, and of course, their productivity will be
more efficient.
Ultimately, the whole event needs to be clearly tracked and evaluated to determine if it was
successful, actively receive feedback from nearby surveys, and improve them.

III. Conclusion

IV. Evaluation
About Strengths:
I was able to develop more issues such as critical thinking, clear problem solving, effective
teamwork. Specifically: In my group, there are four members, through many discussions, myself
and even the other members in the group when speaking out, they all listen to and respect the
opinion.
Some member gives good speech when there is a debate, many opinions happen that require me (as
the leader) to collect and come up with ideas suitable to the group's requirements.
About Weakness:
At first, when I applied the skills as a group, it was still difficult because I was not used to it,
but hopefully in the future, I can master the skills mentioned above in order to develop myself.
more in the future and hope to go further.
About opportunities and future challenges: For yourself to develop better and have a higher
