INTRODUCTIONHuman resource management is the process of hiring, recruiting, selecting and deployingthe employees of an organization. This report includes the purpose and functions of HRM thatmay help Chocola Fantastica in conducting its operations efficiently. It also determines thestrengths and weaknesses of different approaches of recruitment and selection so that ChocolaFantastica can select the best approach. This study explains the advantages and effectiveness ofvarious HRM practices within Microsoft for the employers as well as employees. It alsoevaluates the external and internal factors that may affect the decision-making and employmentlegislation in HRM of Microsoft. Apart from that this report also ascertain application of HRMpractices in Chocola Fantastica. MAIN BODYLO 1P1 Purpose and Functions of HRMThe main purpose of Human resource management (HRM) is to ensure availability of willingand competent workforce in the organization. The purpose of HRM in Chocola Fantastica mayinclude the following:- To assist Chocola Fantastica in acquiring the right type and number of employees at theright time to accomplish its operational and strategic goals.To maintain a climate in which workers or employees are motivated to utilize andimprove their skills and to employ the abilities of the workforce efficiently(Bratton andGold., 2017).To increase productivity and to improve performance standards through efficient jobdesign, training and development and effective communication. To maintain and establish a harmonious employee and employer relationship.Functions of HRM:-The main functions of HRM that will help Chocola Fantastica to performits operations efficiently include the following:-Planning:-The human resource planning refers to a procedure through it is ensured thatthe appropriate number of employees are hired at the right time and at the right place. Soit is a continuous process in which modifications and adjustments are constantly madeaccording to the requirements and changing circumstance in the organization. Forexample: in the situation of unemployment manager have to do make proper planning for1

recruiting and training for employee in order to reduce unemployment situation formChocola Fantastica. Recruitment:-It is one of the important function of HRM. This function is performedthrough selecting right employees and suitable professionals to satisfy employmentneeds, selecting, recruiting and providing training to the employees(Cascio., 2015). Inthis function it is also make sure that employees can provide better performance andhandle the performance issues. So this function include ensuring management andworkforce practices. For example: company has follow best recruitment process forhiring best candidate for company in order to achieve goals and objectives of company inproper manner. Training and development:-Training is an important function of HRM as this isrequired by newly joined and hired employees, supervisors and managers to tackleemployee relation matters at the department level. This will help in improving the skillsand abilities of employees and through training they will become efficient in their work.For example: company manager is use on the job training method in order to train theiremployee for making innovative fruit taste of chocolate for attracting more customers. Job Design:-The main task of this function is to gather information in an organizedmanner and measure human requirements of jobs. This analysis is performed on the basisof operations or activities of people during the job. So if Chocola Fantastica will perform the functions of HRM efficiently then it will help inimproving its performance and accomplishing its goals and objectives like if Chocola Fantasticawill conduct training and development programmes in the premise then it will help theemployees to develop their skills and knowledge and they will become more efficient in thework which will ultimately result in enhancing the efficiency and performance of ChocolaFantastica.P2 Strengths and weaknesses of different approaches of selection and recruitment:-Recruitment:-Recruitment is the overall procedure of attracting, short-listing, appointing andselecting the suitable candidates at the right time within an organization(Noe and et.al., 2015).However, Recruitment can be done in two ways which include:-2
