Further, theresearch study will evaluate the role and purpose of human resource management in CostaCoffee. It will also focus on the present state of employment relations in the firm. Costa Coffee was founded in the year 1971 in London by the Costa family.Now, the family owns around 1375 restaurants and 1280 outlets all across the world. They areengaged in wholesale process of providing roasted coffee to Italian Coffee shops and caterers(Costa Coffee, 2018). The main aim of the firm is to offer great services to huge people witheffective results in return. For the purpose of achieving this aim firm live by the values ofteamwork, passion as well as integrity (Costa Coffee, 2018).Purpose and function of HRM in Costa Coffee The main purpose of HRM in Costa Coffee is to contribute significantly in theeffectiveness of the firm. It also supports the firm in the recruitment and selection of highqualified, skillful and talented candidates for the vacant job that further helps in attainment of the1

The department is also responsible for carrying outtraining and development programs that renders supportive hands to the workers in improvingtheir abilities and capabilities. In addition to this, it helps Costa Coffee in delivering greatservices to their valuable clients with the motivated workers. Some of the important functionsbeing performed by HRM in Costa Coffee are being defined underneath: Staffing – The firm carry out recruitment and selection program where they put theirefforts in selecting qualified personnel for achieving the main goal of the firm. Training and development – In addition to staffing, the HRM also carries out training anddevelopment programs and events for the employees in order to improve their efficiencyand capabilities. Through this, they will perform better and achieves the objectives of thecompany (Davidson, McPhail, R. and Barry, 2012).
