INTRODUCTION Contemplating about human resource management, it is systematic process of makingplans, administering policies and programs and developing human resource within the firm.HRM’s main focus is effectively using the human capital so as to reap out best results.Effective practices of human resource management within the firm will benefit both to theemployer and employees (Ivancevich, 2007). The present research study also pays attentionon HRM and its various concepts, practices and application in the British Airways. As anassistant to HR Manager, the main tasks is to explain varied functions related to humanresource within the firm and highlighting the importance of HR in acquiring talent to fulfilthe objectives of the organization. The firsts section of the report will also discuss,employment legislation, employee relation and their influence on the decision makingprocess. The next section of the study is concerned with the application of HRM practice inBritish Airways wherein job offer, job description, personal specification, interview question,selection criterion and use of technology in improving the recruitment and selection of theselected firm will be discussed. TASK – 11.Explaining the purpose, roles & responsibilities of the HR functions and importance of HRin acquiring talent for meeting out the business objective Human resource management is a procedure for making plans, developing as well asadministering the policies and creating developmental programs for the human resourcewithin British Airways. The HRM in the firm mainly focus on making use of the presentresources in an effective manner so that best outcome can be availed. The HR function alsohelps in developing and maintaining cordial relations amid the firm and the employees.Consequently, it can be stated that the main purpose of HRM in British Airways is improvingand augmenting the human asset so as to make sure that there exist positive relationshipbetween the employees and employer (British Airways, 2018). The function also engage inoffering suitable training encouraging workers, motivating them for higher work performanceand finally, leads them to the path of glory. Furthermore, the human resource management inBritish Airways is accountable for recruiting and selecting skilled employees at the right timeand place so that firm’s objectives can be accomplished.
