Importance of employee relations to influence decision making of HRM
Employee relation means to efforts to manage relations among employers and employees in the workplace. Every individual share certain relationship with workers at the workplace. Therefore, employees and employers relationship is very
essential to the success of Marks and Spencer. The importance of employees relations is key benefit for making the decisions such as productivity, conflicts reduction, profitability of business. In this context, employee relation is important that
people are comfortable with each other and working together as individual unit towards common objectives. Such as:
Easy work: The healthy relations between employees simplicity the work load on any specific people and in turn raise opportunities of productivity if the employees are shared ideas in the Marks and Spencer. Human resources assign priority
task so that employees are shared all activities for completing the task by healthy relationship among the workers in the M&S.
Conflict Reduction: Effective and healthy relationship between employees decrease possibilities of conflicts and battle between the staff at the M&S. They trust each other in helping in the execution to fulfil objectives. With the help of it,
increasing productiveness of firm. Through this, HRM take better decision for the organization.
Employee Loyalty: It is necessary to make pleasant and productive work atmosphere has forceful effect on loyalty of employees to M&S. The lower level of employee turnover in the firm which aid to decrease the cost of hiring new
employees. Loyal employees leads to high productivity and return of the organization.
Key elements of employment legislation and its impact upon decisions making of HRM
Employment legislation is the regulation which regulates employment within the organization with everyone who works. This directly affects employers, workers and unions in the business. The role of employment regulations is to
ensure that identify who can and can not employ and treated during the procedure and minimum terms and conditions under they can work. In this context, there are many employment legislations such as Equality Act 2010, health and safety
act 1974 etc. that are influenced on the decisions making of human resource management.
Equality Act, 2010: It is the act of Parliament of UK which is protecting the discrimination in employment at the M&S. It involving different features such as gender, race, sex, disability, marriage, sexual orientation, maternity, civil
partnership etc. Therefore, this regulation highly impact on decision making such as pay and rewards, working hours, health facilities, sex etc. that are distributed equally in the workplace. In this context, HR manager needs to follow all
regulations relating equality and discrimination in employees in the workplace.
Health and Safety Act, 1974: It is the act of Parliament of UK which is fundamental framework of encouragement of regulations of well-being, safety and welfare at the workplace. Therefore, HR needs to follow all regulations relating
to health and safety, security of employees in the workplace. Also, they ensure that securing the safety form hazardous substances in the organization. They are also giving all facilities relating to security and health to employees in the M&S.
Application of employee relations inform and impact on HRM decisions making
Employee relation help to reduce stress and increase engagement in the workplace which help to complete the work on time.
With this, they are comfortably performing and contributing in decision making of HRM such as productivity, performance within the organization.
Employee relation help to improving employee indiscipline, so that they are more committed to solve any kind of situations like conflicts etc.
With this, employees improve their behaviour and attitude for working effectively that help to HRM for decision making relating to improve indiscipline of employees in the workplace.
Human resource manager needs to meet employee grievance relating to working hours, wages and compensation that solving by employee relations in the M&S.
In this context, HR manager organized different activities such as game, event, celebration of birthday, festivals within the organization
