INTRODUCTIONHuman resource management is that procedure which assist in hiring and selecting theemployees that are more valued within the organisational context. They organise different HRactivities and practices of the company which involve different functions and activities thatincludes training and development, orientation, hiring and selection, compensation, motivation,stimulation, appraisal of staff members. They mainly convey or transfer message content andculture along with various plans and policies which help in making an effective understaffingbetween manager and workers. The report is based on Woodhill college and Tesco which casestudy are discussed. Woodhill college is the education institution which provide good andeffective education. The main aim of this project is to analyse different HRM strength andweakness of selection and recruitment concepts of the cited institutions. This will evaluate therole of human resource management at the workplace and another it is important for study thecase which is based on Tesco (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). It is one of the leading retailcompany which is situated in UK. They give various kind of commodity and services to theircustomers. This will help in measuring the benefits of HRM activities and functions to themanagers and staff members and it can directly affect on the law of employment on the differentdecision making process. Also analyse the roles of employee relation in better manner. PART 1TASK 1a) Functions of HRM workforce purpose and planning Workforce planning is a process of managing and acquiring the right people who havecapable skills and capabilities which help them in accomplishingthe desired targets and goals inan effective manner. In Woodhill college, human resource management determines theappropriate plans and policies and also assist in managing the communication among variousdepartments within the working area. In an organisation, human resource management will playan important role in solving issues and barriers which arises in the company. They will providecreative and innovative thoughts for the firm which render the possibility to participated in suchactivities (Brewster and Hegewisch, 2017). On the other hand, Human resource employermanage and maintain all required policies and plans of this education institutions. Functions of HRM:1

Staffing- It is one of the essential method which help in assigning staff members at rightplace, right person that can provide right information for getting correct result. Woodhillhuman resource manager is responsible for maintaining performance and satisfyemployees for fulfil their needs and wants. This procedures assist in enhancing entireperformance and work level through using correct job profile. For enhancing abilities and skills, it is prominent responsibility to increase morale ofthe labours in effective manner. Employee management: it is also an important function of HRM of WOODHIL inrespect to impose the policies to examine the new trends of the business. It is completed by themanager of the human resource to manager strong and effective management for providingpositive working environment and get efficient and desired result in sufficient manner. Aim of HRM:The primary purpose of Woodhill college in human resource management is to conductdifferent actions for retaining employees and provided best chance to contributes in suchactivities. An educational institution provides appraisal system and incentives for maintainingjob quality of the employee. Purpose of workforce planning- The workforce planning help in searching suitablecandidates who have skills and abilities for managing and handling job position in effectivemanner.
