INTRODUCTION

company. There are so many methods of recruitment and selection, HR. managers plan and
decide and chose the most appropriate way of selecting and recruiting people in the organisation
(Flamholtz, 2012). It is very important process that are performed by HR of company as because

an effective selection and recruitment process reduces labour turnover as well as it helps in
recruiting right person at right skill of jobs.
Arrangement of training and development campaigns in company- Arrangement of
training and recruiting program is the foremost duty of HR. manager. The HR. team at 'Say it
with Chocolate' is working very nicely and efficiently as they organize effective training
programmes and they call experts for conducting training programmes. Training and
development is one of the most important part or function of HR. as it helps in increasing
knowledge ans skills of employees at each level.
Management of performance- This is the primary function of HR. as it helps in
evaluating and measuring the level and quality of performance of employees. In order to achieve
targeted goals and objectives, HR. manager ensures betterment and improvement in their
performance of work. Management and performance has great importance as without systematic
or proper management company cannot able to manage and develop there employees as well as
there organisation.
2. Roles and Responsibilities of Human Resource Officer
There are several types of roles and responsibilities of HR. officer as they are the key
people in company. The HR. team of 'Say it with Chocolate' is excellent as they perform their
roles and responsibilities in adorable manner as described below:
Recruitment and Selection- Recruiting and selecting employees is the foremost
responsibility of HR. manager of 'Say it with Chocolate'. Selection of right people at right job at
right time is not an easy task as it is a difficult activity. It requires full-fledged knowledge of the
process of selection and recruitment as there is a strategic way of selecting people in 'Say it with
Chocolate'.
Appraisals- Human resource management is a body which is meant for employees. It is
the duty of HR manager of 'Say it with Chocolate' to carry out timely appraisal to employees. In
order to motivate employees, performance appraisal works as the best tool. By giving
performance appraisal timely, employees will be more encouraged as well as they work to their
highest potential.
Training and Development- The duties and responsibilities of HR. officer at 'Say it with
Chocolate' are not limited up to recruitment and selection work but they have to perform several
other functions too like they have to do proper arrangement of training and development

performance and after measuring the same, they have to arrange training. At 'Say it with

disadvantages and comparison with other methods of selection.
In 'Say it with Chocolate' company, HR. manager makes use of many methods of
selection which are described as below:
Interview- Interview method is most commonly used in the procedure of selection. It is
the best method among all the methods of interview. Telephonic interview, personal interview,
panel, video conference and group interviews are five types of interview methods. ‘Say it with
chocolate' generally uses personal and group interview. In order to identify actual skills and
knowledge of employees, personal interview is the best method.
Advantages

method is actually based on personality and cognitive abilities.
Advantages
 It helps in gauging individual decision
making power.

 It is a costly affair.
All above methods are good but there are some other method of selection like Ability and
Aptitude test. This is one of the most important method for selecting and recruiting candidates. It
is designed to assess the logical reasoning or thinking capabilities. There are multiple choice
questions and strictly times. It is much more advance than other methods like interview,
psychometric test and Application form and Curriculum Vitae that is used in 'Say it with
Chocolate' company. When company is going to fill the vacancy of high level jobs than company
should go for Ability and Aptitude test as it is much better than other methods.
4. Potential improvement that could be made to current selection method
All above methods that were discussed above are methods of recruitment and selection.
All these selection methods are very useful method but they all require some improvement which
is very important to select effective and efficient employees for organisation to achieve targeted
goals of Human Resource Management. Application form of Curriculum Vitae needs high
improvement and development as because it old method of recruitment. Company when going to
recruit in the field of technical unit, they did not go through this method as actual skills and
intelligence cannot be identified in this method. Second, in Interview selection method of
recruitment at 'Say it with Chocolate', company needs improvement as cheating and bias
interviewer should be removed in any manner. Last, in Psychometric Test method, company
should hire well knowledgeable and skilled person to conduct the test.

The role played by receptionist is very essential in the company. They are the key person
in the company, they are called admin of company, and administration department is there
department in company. All the information regarding company's affair are reported to manager
of administration department. In order to furnish great welcome and professional experience to
people who visit to the organisation. Beside this, company has to receive all the call of company
and communicate with people in very delegate manner. Meeting and greeting customers,
arranging meetings, arrangement of parcels, keeping the area of reception clean-cut, answering
and forwarding phone calls, sorting and distributing post, completing the paper work, furnishing
well services to people who visit, and many other responsibilities in respect to the management
of organisation.
Person Specification- It refers to whole description of skills, qualification, ability,
experience, knowledge and other features that person must possess to perform work, skills,
attributes which are very necessary in performing the work of receptionist are discussed as
below- Effective communication skill- In the occupation of receptionist, individual requires high
and fantastic skill of communication. Receptionist has to speak with many people in a
day in phone calls and in office too, so it is very essential for receptionist to have
effective skills of communication. Professional as well as friendly behaviour- In the occupation of receptionist, individual
has to be very friendly with each and every person whom they have to interact. Beside
this, receptionist has to assemble meetings and have to interact with officers and manger
of company, so they should have professionalism in their personality and behaviour
(Jackson and Parry, 2011). Capabilities of multi-tasking- In the occupation of receptionist, individual should be
extremely high skilled in managing handling activities of multi-tasking. There are so
many works in a day which is performed by receptionist such as- Meeting and greeting
customers, arranging meetings, arrangement of parcels, keeping the area of reception

growing industry as they furnish lots of services to their customers. Their employees are also
satisfied with their policies and laws which result in high degree of efficiency in their work.
They are gives chances to their employees for improving their performance and bring
productivity in their work. In order to examine actual needs of employees, they are working very
hard and have focus on team employees' engagement. They always try to build optimistic
attitude towards organisation and their work. Leaders and managers has power to delegate

is very essential for all the companies to follows all these rules and regulations which is
