INTRODUCTION
Operation management refers to the specific area of management concerned with framing
and controlling the procedure of production and re-framing operation of business in services and
goods production. It ensure the operations in business using resources in efficient terms and
reaching customers needs in effective manner. Logistic management is a part of supply chain
procedure which helps in planning, implementing and controlling in efficient manner, also
effectively manage storage of goods and their flow, related data or information between to origin
to consumption point to reach consumers needs and services also. Supply chain management
refers to the flow or services and goods, include all procedure that convert raw material into
finished or final products. It represent the suppliers efforts towards development and
implementation in supply chains that are as economical and efficient as much as possible. Supply
chain management cover production to development of product to the system of information
required to direct these undertaking. This report is based on TATA motors, It is Indian
multinational Auto-mobile manufacturing industry based in Mumbai, Maharashtra and it is part
of TATA group. This company founded in 1945 and they have various categories of products
such as buses, sport cars, cars, construction machinery or equipment, trucks and many more. In
1999 ford motors purchased Jaguar and in 2000 purchased land rover after that in 2008 ford
motors selling both to the TATA motors. The below report includes apply relevant theories of
operations, logistics and supply chain management. Analyse two areas and apply suitable
solution of operations management. In end part report cover recommendation and conclude the
report (Ali, Kaur and Saucedo, 2019).

Operations management
It states the administration of business exercises to build a possible highest level of
efficiency with in workplace. It is also concerned with transforming raw material and labours
into services and products in efficiently. In context of TATA motors, the have qualified material
for final products and effective management of operations helps in achieving good outputs or
target common goals of business (Dahlgaard-Park, Reyes and Chen, 2018). They have use

various strategies such as zero based costing, management of quality, management of vendors,
manufacturing abilities and many more, for better management or development of operations in
company.
ï‚· Six sigma: It is tool and methodology to reduce rate of errors in the procedure of
manufacturing in involve the measure, tasks to define, observe, improve and procedure
control. TATA group use this model to reduce the errors in their vehicle manufacturing
process and also follow trends in market. Company adopt new or innovated techniques
and technology to provide better quality in market. In jaguar they modify various
techniques and add new features to introduce new car in market (Das, 2018).
ï‚· Involvement of employees: It refers to the framing a organisation cultures that allows
workforces to feel heard and take part in decision-making where involvement matters for
company. It creates more productive staff, passionate and collaborative. They bought
jaguar so in this decision the employees take equal part and contribute their efforts to
achieve success in modification process in jaguar.
Logistic management
It is a part of supply chain management and it states that fulfil or reach demands of
consumers with the helps of planning, controlling and implementing of the movement and
storage of related data or information and procedure between the origin to end point of services
and goods. In context of TATA motors, they have good connections with logistics company and
they manage their relations in very well. TATA group currently deal as an outbound logistics for
6 Lakhs plus TML passengers and products of commercial mobility, they serves five plants,
have 13 plus regional distribution different centres, 8 plus regional logistics support and etc.
ï‚· Cost of transaction: It is based on financial models, this analysis essentially looks at
cost determine products were bought at less prices and sold in high price. Company
purchased jaguar at fixed price but they add some features and modify some part of car
after modification process they introduce innovated car in market with high cost
(Dewnarain, Ramkissoon and Mavondo, 2019).
ï‚· Material logistic management: This theory deals with planning, stocking, sourcing,
production and distribution of physical raw materials. Company planned effectively to
bought jaguar, they use various strategies and implement that do they can achieve
success. For jaguar modification procedure they needed various material with best quality

because jaguar provide luxury cars so for TATA it is a challenge to complete
modification with using best materials.
Supply chain management
It refers to the flow of services and goods management, it is also technology discipline
that states the way of activities coordination. It helps in providing competitive benefits in market.
In context of TATA motors they have strong relationship with suppliers and they simply focus
on supply chain to reach cost expectation. Distribution channels is company's cost cut down
strategy and they have 600+ outlets in different locations. TATA group build relation ship with
vendors for long term. According to them innovation in manufacturing procedure done to reduce
extra expense or cost (Garg, 2019).
ï‚· Channel coordination: It helps in describing the practices, a logistic organisation could
see that realigning on some platforms can helps in reach objectives consumers, this model
mostly apply to management of inventory and ordering in organisation. TATA motors
have strong coordination with all channels also they maintain in appropriate manner,
through good relations they reach consumer's objective and fulfil their needs.

connections those are very potential. TATA motors have effective network connections
with other organisation and various management. They use good connections to
purchased jaguar from ford motors.

In company managing and maintain the quality of products and services is necessary, for
effective quality quality organisation use various theories and models to improve the goods
quality or performance within workplace. In context of TATA motors, they are are particular and
focused towards their product quality and their services. They always manufacture effective
products as per customer's expectation and their needs. Once they manufacture TATA Nano car
at cheaper level and for those who cannot afford expensive cars so they came with new idea with
affordable car but they fails in quality in TATA Nano, in survey company found many quality
issues and not safe for customers (Gupta, Singh and Suri, 2018). This first failure of this
company in market. But otherwise their other products are very effective in quality and also have

safety measures in every product. TATA group have loyal customers in market and it is well
known brand in country. In 2008 they bought jaguar they modify as per customer requirements.
It is in luxury cars list and they provide various, unique features in car (Migdadi, 2020).
Total quality management: This theory helps in management in quality and reduce
errors in production and this tool that helps in streamlining the all over supply chain, that give
improved understanding the expectation and needs of customers and focus on offering better
results of services and products. In the TATA motors context, total quality management of
supply chain provides better understanding of customers wants and needs and make a
improvement in the quality of supply chain. It also helps in people management in company so it
helps in providing better results to industry and helps them to achieving objective and targeted
goals of business. TQM helps in knowing of common gaols and objective of the workforces in
better manner and company, so that they can perform towards the achievement of all the goals
and enhancing the profitability level. Thus, total quality management helps in understanding in
better manner of consumer's needs and expectations from the organisation and also it improve
the management of supply chain of company (Rusconi, 2019) (Sigala, 2018).
Managing people in operations and supply chains
People working in distribution and as per their skills or talents is very important for
achieving common goals or performance growth in operation and supply chains. At workplace
the communication is must for managing people in effective manner. Company offer training
programs to staff for work procedure in operation and supply chain management. TATA motors
manage their people and employees in proper manner also provide training as per requirements.
Also they maintain relationship at good level for they reach more customer's needs.
Customer relationship management: This theory helps in manage relations between
customers and organisation, also build strong relationship with consumers in market. It is a
combination of various practices, strategies, tools and technologies which company use to
managing the interaction procedure at workplace. CRM helps in TATA group in various aspects
also apart from managing people in supply chains and operations, such as gathering data or
information of customers, also helps in identifying trends. Automation of menial but essential,
funnel sales and consumer support tasks. CRM also provide consumer facing employee detailed
data on users personal information, their purchasing history, purchasing preferences and
concerns (Potti and Saurav, 2020).

RECOMMENDATION
It has been analysed the above report , it is can be recommanded to respective TATA
motors industry that the operation management of the firm helps in better achievement of
objectives and targeted goals in the company. There are different problems that operational
management face in the organisation, such as control in quality, handling material, management
of inventory levels. To deal with this problems of organisation can have effective management of
people at company, so that they can help in effective management of resources and handle
operational problems. Skilled and talented staff could help in improved achievement of
objectives and goals also they can ensure the best quality of services and products of industry.
Organisation can use managing quality approach to improve quality of services and products in
industry so that they can increase profitability, and meet all the needs and wants of customers
from the products and services. Total quality management can help maintain quality of services
and products also try to improve quality and also helps in adopting new techniques to improve
qualities . Total quality management also helps in effective planning of resources and enhancing
customer satisfaction level . Thus, organisation can raise its profitability by using all the supply
chain and operational approaches. Effective utilization of logistic management helps industry in
effective resources management and increasing the quality of products and services (Snehvrat
and Dutta, 2018).
CONCLUSION
It is concluded the above report, for organisation the operations, supply chain and logistic
management is very essential for business performance. These process helps in providing good
quality of services and products, also meet consumer's expectations and needs. Adopting theories
in different management helps in reduce errors in manufacturing process, encouraging
employees to take part because involvement of workforce in decision making is important.
Analyse of cost transaction helps in analyse the overall cost as per manufacturing and control
accordingly. Coordination of channels is essential to measure all activities related to the supply
chain and network perceptive takes existing network of company, also look expected connection.
As per brief two areas are selected for report and suitable solution for that both helps in
managing the quality of manufacturing, production and customer relationship.
