INTRODUCTION
Communication is the medium of exchange their ideas, information and feelings. It can
be done by speaking, writing or by using other medium. Having effective communication in the
business gives the structure to flow of actives in the organisation and leads to achieve the
business goal. Business communication refers to the process of sharing information via various
medium of communication. This report will discuss the general theories of communication and
also evaluate the barriers of communication at Learn English UK. Furthermore, it will enlighten
the company’s strategies to overcome these barriers. This will help in effective business
communication.
MAIN BODY
Some general theories of organizational communication.
Communication plays important role in business. If there a clear and structured flow of
communication in the organisation then all the activities will be done in systematic manner and
some theories of communication are as follows:
Clarity- The message is sent by the sender is clear and exact what they want to say in
that message. It should be clearly spelt out. If the sender send clear message it gives
meaningful experience to the receiver and help in building better communication flow in
the organisation (Argenti, 2017).
Attention- Receiver attention is the main concern for the effective communication.
People have different attention, emotion and behaviour. They respond differently to the
message. When individual listens carefully to the information. It brings productivity in
the result and response of the receiver.
Feedback- for the effective communication, it is very important to have proper feedback of the
communication. This will help in getting new suggestions and ideas related to the business and
help in implementing new business in the market. This leads to new opportunities in the
operation and sender can improve upon their mistakes (Dwyer and Hopwood , 2019).
Informality- the message is sent by the sender must be information that can use in some
productive work. Message can’t be sent blank and cannot use any slang words that give
senseless meaning. Formal communication plays important role in business environment.
There are certain problems which cannot be solved with formal communication. There
