INTRODUCTION Management is the most essential part of any of organization. It is required to run the business successfully. Effective management is the key stone with success of companies. Administration is the procedure of problem solving for accomplishing goals and objectives of organization through efficient utilize of scares resources in changing environment. It is an art of acquiring belongings done through and with the people in formally organized team(Christopher, Laasch and Roberts, 2016).There are three thoughts like work management, monitoring of employees and functions of company.The purpose of impressive management is to improve work culture and human behaviour in the workplace. Management involves actions of setting approaches of firm and arranging effortsof its workers. Through application of available resources such as financial, natural, practical application and manpower. It determines as alteration of the resources into utilization and controlling them in the organization. Furthermore, this study is based on Imperial hotel. It is international branded chain of hotels in the 4 star market that operates 25 hotels in the UK. Hotel is situated in heart of London's West End which provides for global business and tourist guests who have expected high standards of services. Hotel provides many facilities such as 500 bedrooms, conferences, bars and restaurant, leisure centre with swimming pool. In the hotel, 450 staff which includes 300 full-time and part-time, outside contractors and 6 Heads of Departments. This report will analysis the problems within organization. It will explain management theoryfor problem and key resolution of these troubles in the business. ANALYSIS THE PROBLEM Imperial hotel is the international branded chain of hotels in 4 star market. They mainly provide international business and tourists guests who have expected high standard of services. But recent time, hotel faces many problems such as poor guest satisfaction, ineffective leadership and management, poor monitor and control of procedure, ineffectual team work of back office and front office, negative work culture etc(Hislop, Bosua and Helms, 2018).In this context, company needs to solution for problem of negative culture among staff with high levels of sick level and poor attendance in the workplace. In addition to that, they are released that many issues regrading this issues such as long working hours, part-time jobs staff are female and family commitments, high turnover of supervisory staff etc. For solving this problem, they follow different ways or techniques in the business. 1
Management theory Imperial hotel follow democratic leadership style and Vroom expectancy theory for solving the problem in the organization.With the help of it, they increase motivation level and improving work culture. By democratic leadership style, leaders focus on equality of team and free flow of ideas for improving work culture and reducing absenteeism that effects positive impact on work culture. Democratic leadership:It also called as participative leadership which is type of leadership style. In this style, each team members participate in decisions making by giving the creative and innovative ideas and encourage discussion in the workplaces. This procedure to focus on group equality and free flow of ideas still leaders offer guidance and control. This style mean serving communication, encouraging team members to share thoughts in team work. In recent condition, leaders adopt autocratic leadership style which means they do not consultant with team members and getting all the decisions on their own hand(Cherry, 2018). So that, Imperial hotel face problems of poor attendance and high sick level by staff. Therefore, leaders of hotel needs to follow democratic leadership for solving this problem. Leaders must involving their subordinates in decision making process, conflict resolution and any of other activity. With the help of it, staff are effectively worked and improving culture of Imperial hotel. Expectancy theory:This theory assumes that behaviour result from conscious choices between alternatives whose aim it is to increase delight and decrease ideas. They suggested that relationship between people's attitude at work and their objective. Worker's execution is based on single elements like personality, skills, abilities and experience that is realized by Vroom. This theory is based on different aspects such as valence, expectancy and instrumentality. In this context, expectancy is the impression that raised efforts lead to enhance execution(Vroom expectancy motivation theory,2018). This is affected by such terms as having correct resources that is raw material, time period, having correct abilities to work and having necessary help to get job done that includes superior supports, right data etc. Instrumentality is the notion that receiving outcome when well perform. This affects by clear determination of relationship between execution and outcomes, people trust and transparency to get outcomes. They also make sure that giving wide standards and values of company. Improve collaborate culture:First the leaders make collaborative work culture and encourage of staff for contribution it. If leader feel that need improving collaborate work culture, so that, they use different ways and encouraging staff for improving culture of workplace. In addition to that, leader also communicate effectively with respect from colleagues for effective team work. Through it, staff improving their attendance that reducing negativity in work culture. 3
Managing working hours:Manager of Imperial hotel make sure that flexible working hours for staff security. Because of, there are females and family commitment are worked in hotel. Long working hours are risky for females staff, so that they are leaved the hotel. By this way, spreading negativity in the work culture. For that, manager needs to improve work culture and solving problem of business(Goetsch and Davis, 2014). Giving the rewards:Manager of Imperial hotel give rewards for customers services for improving their performance in the workplaces. With the help of it, increasing staff frequency and culture improvement of the work. This helps in improving execution and behaviour of organisation. For taking better rewards, employees providing the best services to customers in hotel. Resolution of problem Imperial hotel has followed democratic leadership style and Vroom expectancy theory of motivation for improving work culture and increasing frequency of staff in the business. With the help of it, staff are involved in decisions making process, solving problems of operational challenges and improving performance of organization in hospitality industry. Therefore, leaders must have adopted democratic leadership style for improving work culture. In this style, staff are getting free flow ideas and suggestion for effective decisions making and solving challenges of operations of business(O'Neill, Beauvais and Scholl, 2016). By this leadership style, higher productivity, large level of contribution from all members of team, staff are encouraged to give innovative ideas for solving problems. Manager of Imperial hotel has adopted Vroom expectancy theory of motivation for work culture improvement and enhancing staff frequency in the workplace. With the help of it, manager fulfil expectation of employees for increasing their motivation. This theory helps in giving the right resources available, correct abilities and important information to job done effectively(Alvesson and Sveningsson, 2015).Through it, staff make efforts to take appropriate rewards or benefits for increasing productivity of workplace as well as themselves. By this theory, staff increase their self improvement for effective execution in the Imperial hotel. Therefore, Imperial hotel appoint consultant for solving problems within organization. By this way, staff are giving the best performance and higher contribution in decisions making of company. Therefore, leaders and managers must have followed that includes democratic leadership style and Vroom motivation theory as management theory for solving the problems of Imperial hotel. CONCLUSION This report has summarised that Imperial hotel faces many problems in current time that involves poor guest satisfaction, ineffective leadership and management, poor monitor and control of procedure, ineffectual team work of back office and front office, negative work culture in the organization.
