Leading is the attribute which assist in acting and encouraging employees to a specific
work in an efficient way. Leaders will guide their individual to the correct path which help to
achieving target goal and objectives. This activity will inspire people in effective and efficient
way. Leadership helps in acquiring knowledge and skill which provide growth and development.
There are various methods or techniques which support and motivate workers within an
organisation (Amabile, 2012). The company need to make a team which lead their other
members. The United Parcel Service (UPS) is one of the largest Parcel service in UK. It assist in
leading the management and administration work in the company. Currently they face some
problem such as management, leadership and administrative areas. This is one of the famous
parcel service firm in the country. The main aim of this study is to acquire skill and ability that is
required for employee the major group. Report will aid in understanding selection and
recruitment process in an enterprise.
TASK 1
1.1 Prepare recruitment and selection process documentation
HR management department is a crucial part of the company. United Parcel Service hire
those persons who have full ability, knowledge, capabilities or quality to handle the work. Now,
the firm face many issues which are related to the management, leadership and administration.
As a HR manager, I need to select those employees who have excellent working skill and they
will manage all administrative work in an effective manner. Recruitment process assist in
identifying right person at right place. I need to prepare documentation for these process:
Recruitment and selection process
Supporting of recruitment- As a manager of United Parcel Service I need to post
recruitment ads on the internet and add some details for the job profile (Bush and
Middlewood, 2013). After that search the best suitable candidate and call for the
interview.
Job description- It is an important part of an organisation. I need to place right candidate
at right place on right time in the company. All the job related information must be
posted on internet.

manager I will use different media for spreading their job vacancy such as newspaper,

There are some concept and orders which directly impact on recruiting and selecting
procedure of the firm. The responsibility of manager is to identify external legal rules that impact
on company's policies and plans (Czabanowska and et. al., 2014). There are certain things that
impact legal, regulatory and ethical on the selection and recruitment are as under:
Impact on right to employment- It is the responsibility of company HR manager is to
check candidates family background and also check if is any criminal record.
Impact of nationality- If any company declare that they will provide job only to the
residential people so they intent to interrupt law of nation rule act.
Effect on age standard- Recruiting and selecting procedure given several profit to senior
and junior workers. Some firm pay especial care towards these age grouping people then
they interrupt rule of government.
Impact of employment statement- The company provides employee statement chart to
the new member and this is the responsibility of an employees to follow it. It includes
leave schedule, salary, working hours and timings.

discrimination act. Every company should not bias with their employees on the basis of

its annual balance. I need to update selection procedure of the company which helps in searching
talented employees (Day, 2014). There are certain things in which human resource manager must
be take part which is selection process that are as under:
Select the recruitment and selection team- I need to recruit talented and skilled team
who have high capability and ability to select capable candidates for an organisation. In

suitable candidate for the firm.
Short list the candidates- HR manager observe each candidate and short list the talented
worker. After they call to the selected employees for the next round of interview.
Taken interviews- After that they take interviews of selected employees who is suitable
for the job profile (Eccles and Serafeim, 2011). A manager will communicate several
questions which help me in analysing knowledgable candidate.
Hiring Decision- It is the last measure in which HR administrator given appointment
letter to the chosen employees. And then they will join the company on the suitable job
position.

A manager want to set up some certification for the selecting activity. So they will
information by online promotion which assist in attracting new candidate who interested to join
the company. I will taken interviews of new candidates and select only suitable employees who
match for this job profile. The chosen nominee will come in the firm to achieve and handle duty
of the position.

company. The manager or leader are similar with from each one. Managers are supporting part
of the company who manage all business activities in efficient manner. There are different type

2.1 Skill and attributes need for leadership
United Parcel Service firms owners decided to open some branches for expanding their
business in all over the world. They need to hire a person who will manage their new office and
tries to expend it (Fraley and et. al., 2011). An individual who will be appointed to managed the
branch work who have high skill and knowledge to handle a team. Here are definite property
which explain the reason that individual have some power and abilities which are as under:
Any person who is answerable for expanding business in all around the world so the
person have attributes or capability to handle the work or a team. He will not perform his
work to became a leader but also a manager. By this he can control their employees in
effective manner.

adopt autocratic leadership they will increase dissatisfaction among employees. In autocratic
leadership, company's manager will responsible to take decision which style is suitable for the
organisation growth and development (Gardner and Laskin, 2011). If a manager adopt
paternalistic approach then it will enhance disappointment among individual in broad level.

Managing director will proceed essential decision for the growth of an enterprise and
employees are depend on HR actions. Simply now days worker wants to take conclusion of their
personal activity and they need to free in the organisation. The paternal model is not suitable for
the cited firm for opening and expanding new branch.

Reasonable payment- The company provides reasonable salary to all their staff
members. If the worker can not get salary on the basis of his performance then he will
demotivated and does not focus on work properly. This is the responsibility of the
manager to provides satisfied income to their employees which aids to motivate them and
automatically enhance their performance.

can analyse data or information of their customers or employees which provides growth
too the firm. This method is based on workers performance and help in monitoring each
and every employee of the company. The leader should manage or control their team
members in effective manner. The training enhance knowledge and skill to the staff
members which assist in monitoring the new technicals or technologies.

or methods. An organisation has to change their rules or regulations which affects on external
and internal factors. Then worker need to evaluate essential process which assist in enhancing
skill and abilities of an employee. Leadership is the activity which assist in provides right
direction to their employees within an organisation.
Management has to develop new strategies and plans which is important for the business
operation and it need to run the activities in smooth way. They will evaluate current and future
scenario of the employees which are based on their performance. Company need to provides
effective services to their new and existing customers and satisfy them. Leader is basically
similar with the manager and its main functions is to control or manage all organisational
activities. The need assessment assist in evaluating the customers behaviour and attitudes in the
workplace. As a manager, I need to improve all business activities or function which is necessary
for providing growth and development within an organisation (Amabile, 2012). It is my duty to
monitor company's employees and provides right path for achieving target goal and objectives. A
leader will also analyse the basic factor of training and development which assist in identifying
talented workers.
CONCLUSION
In the above study can be conclude that the procedure of selecting and recruiting for new
team member in the enterprise. As a manager, I will prepare document of this process. United
Parcel Service company measure the effect of lawful, regulation and orders which directly
affects the hiring and selecting activity. In this report the firm too measure the operation that

identify the skill and attributes which assist in expanding the business in other areas. An
organisation has to understand some leadership styles such as democratic and autocratic and in

manager I play a role of coordinator, finisher, motivator, team worker and investigator.
