numerical data for the study. This methodological decision contributes to the overall research's
increased accuracy and dependability.
Research strategy- There are a variety of research methods research strategy types, including
interview, survey, observation, and many others. The research chooses the survey research
approach because it is economical and enables the researcher to carry out the research efficiently
and affordably. This research methodology enables the collection of numerical data from a broad
population.
Research instrument- In research method, there are many different kinds of research
instruments, including tests, questionnaires, and checklists. The questionnaire instrument was
chosen by the researcher because it is quick and efficient in gathering information from a big

group. This tool is also economically advantageous because it makes it simple and inexpensive

Data Analysis- In research methodology, there are many different types of data analysis
techniques, including thematic, frequency distribution, and many others. The reason the
researcher chooses frequency distribution is because it makes it easier to calculate and measure
the numerical data relevant to the research issue.
Sampling- In research technique, there are two types of sampling that is probability and non-
probability. The researcher chooses probability sampling because it enables them to choose
research participants at random. This sampling technique gives everyone an equal opportunity to
participate in the study.
Ethical consideration- The ethical guidelines that must be followed when doing research are
presented. The ethical guidelines that this study abides with are voluntariness, informed consent,
anonymity, results communication, the possibility of damage, and confidentiality.

The chosen company for the present study is Waracle, and the chosen business area is IT. It is a
corporation that creates digital products and mobile applications. The company launched its
operations in the year of 2007. (Purwanto,2019). Waracle is a company that does business in the
UK. The company's headquarters are in New Street House, London. Leadership is a crucial
notion in the modern digital era since it motivates the subordinate to operate effectively and
efficiently (Mufti and et.al.,2020). Leadership is the capacity of a person or group of people to
persuade and guide the company's followers to work in a particular direction. They are the ones
who have clearly defined how the subordinates work in order to understand the corporate vision.
Within the organisation, having strong leadership enables employees to work and produce more
effectively. The corporation has the option of adopting any number of various leadership

philosophies. such as an autocratic leader, a democratic approach, a laissez-faire attitude, and a
transformative approach.

in building the right work culture. In that process communication plays an essential role that will
contribute more to the level of productivity in the team. Due to leadership the chosen company
will be able to cultivate the level of creativity which will tend to elevate the daily progress at the
workplace. It allows the company to delegate the work to the respective people who have proper
knowledge about the work (Maak, Pless and Wohlgezogen, 2021). The work will be divided as
per their skills in order to enhance the level of efficiency in various tasks. The leaders have this
knowledge to communicate properly as communications is the main key to contribute more to
the company. That is why the goals of the company will be clear and focused so that it can be
achievable for the employees. It can also be seen that it is in human nature to expect return on
investment and the efforts. With the help of proper training and leadership support it will be easy

company in relation to the performance and productivity. As every company wants to retain and
attract all the deserving employees but such employees also expect better opportunities. In
relation to that if the company fails to provide such opportunities then the company will lose its
key talent. Such as it is must to identify the strengths and weakness of the teams in the company
otherwise it can bring adverse impact on the operations of the company. Another issue is related
with the culture of the workplace and the way of communicating with the employees. It is one of

the main stress in most of the companies and as they will not understand the goals clearly that
will affect the entire company Dumas and Beinecke, 2018). That is why the term leadership must
be used to manage various people and tasks. As leadership is one of the challenging job when the
managers will not be able to understand their employees well. Nowadays the company and the
management can’t make employees work by scolding or being rude to them. The company will
be successful only when their employees look up to them and treat them as their role models.
Sometimes it is not easy to lead the team and manage the employees as it comprises of various

to enhance the level of performance and productivity of employees. Such as it must to motivate
employees to share their opinion and feelings towards the company. Through this the company
will be able to understand the gaps and target of improving it. It is must to encourage the
employees in order to be open to feedback about the company and its management. This will
help them to acknowledge and understand the gaps in the company and the leadership which
may be braking their effectiveness as a leader. Hence, creating a culture of feedback will tend to
facilitate better outcomes for both employees and the company. That is why the company is
required to focus on managing the performance management as it is must to attain the desired
goals of the company. The chosen company has always kept a growth mindset which bring more
growth opportunities in the company. Various plans have been made from time to time so that

goals will be attained and the employees will be clear on their parts. Such plan will be made with
realistic timeline so that team will be able to perform collectively. The leaders must have the

In that process interpretivism is not chosen for the research because it has low level of
reliability as compared to the positivism one.

the data collection (Thomas, 2021). With its interpretation which can be well-defined as

further divided into two parts such as inductive and deductive approach. Research
approach can also be explained as those approaches which are used to test the hypothesis
and theories. In the present study deductive approach will be chosen because it will test
the existing theories and hypothesis with the help of numerical information. It allows to
be used with the positivist approach and it is mainly used in the quantitative research
techniques. In addition to this, the deductive approach is characterised as the
development from general to particular. While inductive approach focuses on developing
a theory that is why it is not suitable for the present research.
 Research strategy- It is a plan of action which provides a proper direction in the thought
process of the researcher (Ratnam, 2019). With the help of this the researcher will be able
to conduct the research in a systematic way. In this step it will highlight the ways which
will be used by the researcher in order to carry the work. Also, the strategy includes a
number of different approaches. As there are various type of research strategies for
example survey, interview, action research, case study and many more. In the present
investigation, the survey strategy will be picked in order to gather the quantitative data

from the population. Along with it, it requires less time, cost and it will be easy to reach
to large audience at a single time.
 Research choice- It is known to present a plan for the research which comprises of

types of research method for the purpose of collecting the data which are quantitative and

situations under which there are large number of respondents which are available. In
which the data can be effectively measured for the purpose of using quantitative
techniques and under which the statistical methods of analysis can be further utilised.
Moreover, it can be defined as the complete process of gathering the numerical data
which will be used to make further predictions to get the results from the wider
population. It is also known to eliminate the various issues by targeting on the actual
data. In that process, the research will also allow to target on the series of information.
 Research design: It is that step which is said to be chosen by researcher and it provides a
foundation for the market research. Under which the researcher will be allowed to make
use of various methods which will be suitable as per the given case. Likewise, it is also
explained as the proper framework which is selected through the researcher which is
mainly divided into two types that is descriptive and exploratory (Knottnerus and
Tugwell, 2018). In relation to the given project, preferred design will be descriptive
design since it aids in examining the data in a proper manner. While the exploratory
design focuses on the research problems in the initial stage of the study due to which it
will not be selected for the research.
 Time horizon- Time horizon is defined as the time framework which is used to know the
point under which the data will be collected and research will be completed in a
systematic manner. It can also be defined as the time framework which expresses about
the investing time for the research. Also, tells about the investing time for the research.

That is why it can be said that the time horizon is the time framework under which the
project is intended for its completion (Ledford and Gast, 2018). In context to the present
study, the cross sectional time horizon will be used for the purpose of gathering the
information. Furthermore, another reason for choosing it is that it will observe multiple
variables at single point of time. Whereas the cross sectional will support in gathering the
data that can be over a period of time. For instance, it can be days, weeks or months
which will not be utilised for the research purpose.
 Data collection- The term data collection is said to be the process in which the raw data
is gathered from various sources. For instance, primary and secondary are the data
collection method. In current investigation both primary and secondary data will be used,
as the primary data is considered to be that data which will be used in the data analysis,
presentation. Along with it, the secondary data will be utilised for the literature review
section with the target of getting proper answer of the research questions. The research
instrument which will be used for gathering data is questionnaire in primary data and
systematic literature review in secondary data (Brandenburg and McDonough, 2019).
 Sampling- In the process of selecting the group that will help in collecting data in the
research. It is the method of selecting the right ample from the population with the aim of
getting right information. Further, it can be said that it is that process in which the
statistical data is preferred to be used and examined which can be done by observing the
larger population. Generally, it selects the samples from the vast population and there are
two sampling techniques such as probability and non-probability. In the current research,
the researcher will be choosing probability sampling. For that the main purpose is to
provide like and fair chance to every participant (Ross and Call-Cummings, 2020). The
sample size will be 25 participants. While, in the non- probability sampling it makes use
of non-random groups in order to participate in the research that is the main reason it was
not selected.
 Research ethics: The term research ethic is explained as the set of ethics and morale
which must be kept in mind during the process of gathering proper information from the
society. In relation to that some of the ethics which will be needed to follow such as
honesty, integrity, openness, confidentiality and many others (Davidavičienė, 2018).

In regards to the present study various stages of the research onion were described about the
project. It allows to adapt to the various ways in which summative and depth knowledge can be
understood of the given topic (Daniel, Kumar and Omar, N., 2018).

respondents so that appropriate information can be collected from participants. With the aim of

plays a very important role in increasing the level of employees. Leaders are the one who

employees feel motivated and happy in their workplace then they give their best efforts in their
performance. It leads offering better products and service to the customer that increases their
satisfaction towards their organisation. Leaders are required to make positive relationship with
their employees so, they feel free communicate with them and ask their queries with them easily
that help company to achieve their organisational and objectives in better manner. There are
many types of leadership strategies that may help company to improve their employee
performance within their workplace. It involves proper delegation of work, recognition as well as
proper learning. These strategies are helpful for the company in order to gain success in the
market.
The above research analysed that there are some challenges which have been faced by the
company while managing workforce in increasing their level of performance. Lack of proper
flow of communication is the main problem due to employee feel demotivated and frustrated
while working in the organisation and therefore their level of performance and productivity are
decreases at their workplace. Another problem is ineffective working environment at workplace
which is also a reason due to which employees performance are affected. The above research
states that there are many methods that help company to improve their employees’ performance
and productivity of their employees. It involves providing flexible working to their employees,
giving positive environment and providing training sessions. As per the above research, company
may gain various benefits while improving their employee performance. There are some
methods that help company to manage proper leadership at their workplace. These are building
relations with their employees, creating visions, managing activities, respecting the differences
and many more.
From the above research, it has been analysed that there are some hurdles that the
company may face while managing people at their workplace. It involves increased in employee
turnover, lack of leadership, higher total compensation demand, time management and many

more. To deal with these hurdles in better manner, effective leadership is important for the
company in order to increases level of performance and productivity at their workplace. There is
some more importance that the company may gain from effective leadership in bringing more

performance. There are some ways that help company to elevate the level of performance at their

From the above research, it has been analysed that the leadership within workplace is

effective leadership within their workplace company faces many problems in order to survive
long term in the market. There are some ways recommended to Waracle which helps in
improving leadership effectiveness in today’s dynamic working environment. These ways are
also helpful for the company to enhance their employees’ performance and productivity within
their workplace. These ways are mentioned below:
Ensure clarity and visibility of goals- It refers to a first way that will help Waracle to
improve the effectiveness of leadership by encouraging their managers, leaders and executives in
order to focus on visibility and clarity of goals. They need to ensure that goals must be clear
which can be easily understands by their employees so, they perform their task appropriately.
They also need to ensure that the goals must be communicated to all with complete visibility.
Everyone in the team must be aware of what are the organisational goals along with their roles
for achieving them. It will help company to make leadership effective at their workplace that
leads higher performance and productivity level of employees.
Facilitate accountability and responsibility- For making leadership effective at their
workplace, the management of Waracle should practice the responsibility and accountability
within their workplace. The company need to encourage their leaders to become more
responsible and accountable for their actions. This will help in encouraging them to take interest
in improving their effectiveness as a leader. This will also help company to improve the

effectiveness of leadership of their company that increases their employee performance and
productivity.
Create a culture of feedback- Another way that helps Waracle to improve the
leadership of leadership at their workplace. Creating a culture of feedback is important for the
company. The company need to offer a feedback to their employees on their performance as well
as help them to improve and grow. It directly impact on the organisational goals as well as define
greater effectiveness within their workplace. The company should encourage their leaders to
become more open to feedback from their employees too. With the help of this, leaders can
understand the gaps in their leadership style so, they improve it in time. It will also help in

Build trust and transparency- If the company want to make their employees able to
guide, influence and grow with their team towards the success, they need to develop trust and
transparency at their workplace. The company need to ensure that their leaders connect with their
team members beyond work will helps in building trust, transparency and credibility at their
workplace. When the employees feel fairly treated in their organisation and all processes must be
transparent that help in increasing the employee performance and productivity at their

Focus on Continuous performance management- Another way that help company to
improve the effectiveness of leadership is the company need to focus on continuous performance
management within their workplace. When the managers or leaders of the company continuously
track and measure their employee performance as well as provide regular interventions and
corrective measures for eliminating any challenges and risks that help employees to grow and
develop at their workplace. They will be able to inspire their other team members and facilitate
better performance at their workplace. It will help company to achieve their organisational goals
and objectives on time.

Reflection
I had received an opportunity from my teacher to conduct the research in this research topic.
It is a wonderful opportunity for me to gain knowledge regarding leadership as well as its
importance in increasing the productivity and performance of employees within the organisation.
While conducting this research I had understood that effective leaders are those who influence,
motivate and manage their team members in better manner for achieving common goals.
Leadership is important for an organisation as it helps in increasing level of motivation and job
satisfaction within their workplace, boost morale as well as ensure effective communication
within their workplace. There are many other advantages that the company gain by increasing
their employee performance through effective leadership such as competitive advantage,
customer satisfaction, employee retention, strong brand image and many more. This research is
helpful for me as the knowledge that I had gained help to become an effective leader. This will
helps in my professional career where I can effectively manage my subordinates in better
manner. Today’s corporate world is very dynamic and leadership has the potential in order to
impact the level of performance in the company. Effective leadership help me to increase the
productivity of my subordinates by making them motivated and influenced towards their job. It
is also helpful for the company to gain more customer satisfaction. This research is not only
helpful for me to become an effective leader but also develop various skills that helps in
conducting further research in better manner. These skills are provide me an ability to search,
find, collect, interpret and analyse and evaluate information related to research topic. The first
skills that I had developed while conducting this research is project management it is a most
important skill which helps in managing whole research project in better manner so, the each
task and activity are conducted properly for attaining research aim and objectives. Another skill
that I had developed while conducting this research is data collection skill. This skill is essential
for conducting research as the researcher need to be able to find and collect the relevant
information about the research which is important for answering the research questions and
testing the research hypotheses. Another skill that I had developed from this research is data
analytics. This research skill is important for the researcher as it helps in analysing and
measuring the collected data to evaluate the findings of the research. In this research I had used
frequency distribution data analysis that helps in analysing the data in better manner by
organising raw data in well structure format. Another skill that I had developed is problem

solving skill that helps in solving problem related to research. This skill is also important for my
personal life in order to solve my personal problems. Another skill that I had developed while
conducting this research is communication skill. This skill is important for me to communicate
with participants to get actual and proper information. I had faced many difficulties while doing
this research because of my improper time management skills. Due to this completing tasks on
time became very difficult for me to conduct this research. To deal with this problem in better I
had used Gantt chart that helps in conducting the all tasks before deadline to complete the
research on time.
