INTRODUCTIONToday. Leadership is an important aspect to take any organisation further. It is importantfor an organisation to have an effective leader in order to achieve growth and success. The belowessay explores the positive characteristics and strengths of leadership. The report neglects thenegative impacts which dysfunctional leadership might have on its employees, organisation or onthe wider society. MAIN BODYESSAYLeadership is seen as an important aspect in the era of globalization. It is difficult for anorganisation in 21st century to achieve growth without having effective leadership. The quality ofleadership determines how far any organisation will go and how effective it will be in achievingits set goals. As per the views of Vishnubhakat (2016) good leadership allows the organisation to growits business and achieve further growth and success. It is important for the organisation todevelop itself in such ways that it gains competition advantage and stand apart in provision ofproduct and services. In order to do that it is important for the leadership to have effectivequalities and characteristics that can ensure the overall growth and development of theorganisation, its business and its employees. These characteristics are also known as positivecharacteristics of the leadership. They include honesty, ability to delegate, ability tocommunicate, sense of humor, confidence, commitment, positive attitude, creativity, an ability toinspire, and intuition.According to Rai (2016), honesty is one of the effective qualities because withouthonesty an organisation cannot go further. The characteristic of honesty ensures strong bond ofrespect and freedom between the employees and the leader of an organisation. However, ()argued that honesty can take the organisation further yet the leaders which are honest but do nothold any potential to operate the business successfully do not qualify as effective leaders.As per the views of Kesan (2016), the ability to delegate is one of the most importantstrengths of a leadership. It is important that the leadership of an organisation ensures effectivedelegation of tasks to its employees in order to achieve set growth and advantage.
