INTRODUCTION
Area or management having responsibility to focus on designing and controlling entire
working of productions, redesigning, etc in manufacturing goods or service is delineated to
operations management. It is a function of organisation that manages process related to creating
offerings (Nag, 2019). It ensures delivering products on time and successfully transmogrifying
raw materials into valuable finished goods. For enhancing understanding about concept of
management and operations, Jaguar is selected organisation that is luxury vehicle brand famous
to manufacture cars and other sports related products at different production system. It have
transformed its new assembly plant at Halewood in order to guarantee World Class Performance
in its system of production.
The report differentiates among functions of manager and role of leader. It also includes
application of managerial functions and leader’s role in certain situation. Further, an article is
devised including information about appreciating role played by managers and leaders in various
operations functions. It also demonstrates understanding for relationship among management
addition to leadership within contemporary environment of business.

Definition of leader and manager
Leader: Someone wo have ability to see the ways things or situations could be improved
and rallies others for moving towards better vision is known as a leader (Washbourne, 2019). In
Jaguar, leader works to make organisational vision a reality through making an attempt to put
people first.
Manager: Someone exercising functions to hire, fire, administer, monitor performance,
maintain discipline, do performance appraisals and has charge of entire company is said to a
manager. Within Jaguar, manager have responsibility for managing production system, devise
strategies, execute cultural change programme and hence forth.
