INTRODUCTION
Operations management is a technique which is used by an every organisation for
managing its managerial activities in order to accomplish their goals and objectives in an
effective manner. In operational management includes functions of management such as
planning, organising, controlling, and directing for maximising an organisational profit. Along
with this, its main objective is to satisfy customers by providing good quality of products and
services within a specified period of time (Beske and Seuring, 2014). Furthermore, in every
organisation both managers and leaders plays an essential role as they manage manage the
function of an organisation by which they can achieve their goals and maintain long term
sustainability at competitive market place. In this present report, chooses business entity is
Google. This is an American based multinational technology company who is founded in
September 4, 1998 in Menlo Park, California by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. In this report
include role and characteristic of leaders and management of Google. Also various approaches,
models and theories are going to be covered. At last, this report says about factors of business
environment that creates a direct impact upon functions of operation management of Google.

P1. Roles and characteristics of leaders and managers
The main role of leaders and managers of every organisation is to manage function of
company in order to meet organisational goals and objectives for improving and enhancing an
overall growth of an organisation (Boyd and Dougherty, 2016). In relation to Google, the role of
manager is to give guidance or direction to their subordinates, as they have an authority of
assigning task that will helps employees to perform it effectively. The role and characteristic of
Google's Manager are given as below:-
Role of Managers in Google
The main role of Google manager is to record each and every single detail about the
performance of their employees so, that managers can give feedback to them by which
they can improve their method of doing work in order to achieve an organisational goals.

The another role of Google manager is to make good relationship between superiors and
subordinates so, that subordinates can share their views and thoughts by which manager
can take effective decision regarding business activities (Cook and Billig, 2017).
Characteristics of Managers in Google
Manger of Google, should have good communication skills as well as listening skills so
that they can convey their message with each other and understood the real meaning of
problem.
They also have an authority of assigning task by which Goggle can enhance their
performance in terms of maximising profitability.
On the other hand, the role of Google leaders is to encourage their followers for
performing an assigned task according to the given instruction and also it motivated other
employees to do the same and achieve organisational or individual goals and objectives. The role
and characteristic of Google's leaders are given as below:-
Characteristics of leaders in Google
In Google, their leaders are always thinks positive and this will helps them to deal with
the tough situations. Furthermore, the positive behaviour of leaders influence others to do
the same (Ellitan, 2017).
Leaders of Google, always boost up their employees confidence and moral for
maintaining an effectiveness of both employees and organisation in competitive working
area.
Role of leaders in Google
The main role of Google leader is to act as a guide, friend and philosopher so that
employees can share their feeling and thoughts with each other in order to meet common
goals.
Another important role Google leader is to done every task on specified time period for
overall development of an organisation and as well as employees.
