Evaluating the sources of problem and suggesting solutions
The problem of absenteeism, high staff turnover and poor levels of staff performance
affects the company. Employee absenteeism means that the employees of the company
frequently remains absent at the work. High staff turnover means that the employees leaving the
organization rate is high and the phenomenon is common to the organization. Poor levels of staff
performance means that the staff at company is not efficient affecting the overall productivity of
the firm (Ma and Ye, 2019). These problems creates the following issues with the organization:
 Low productivity: employee absenteeism, high staff turnover and low staff performance
affects the productivity of the company.
 High costs: staff turnover rates being high means that the company requires to appoint new
staff members in place of the left members. This is done by recruitment and selection
process followed by the training and development processes. Carrying out these processes
results in increasing costs and time consumption of the company.
 Employee Morale: With more number of staff members leaving the organization the morale
of the existing employees suffers a lot making them re considering their decision to work
with the organization.

 Profitability: the profitability of the company suffers as the absenteeism rates being higher
results in loss of work by the absent staff members. The low productivity of the existing staff
members suffers the company in the form of slow work. High turn over ratio also impacts
the production processes of the company. These factors leads to less profit generation by the
firm.
Solutions
Using the management theories can help the organization to deal with the problems it is facing
and increase the productivity of the firm.
Employee Needs: The firm can effectively employee the Meslow’s need hierarchy theory as a
solution to all its problems. The need hierarchy theory has summarized all the needs of an
individual during his life time in certain stages. Theory is based on the assumption that an
individual after fulfilling the need in the lower level of the hierarchy will move further to satisfy
the needs in the higher level of the hierarchy (Feng, Hardin III and Wu, 2022). Company can use
this theory for recognizing and fulfilling the needs of the employees for their retention and
increased productivity.
Communication: The company should establish the certain channels or mediums using which the
employees can effectively communicate their grievances to the company. Resolving the
grievances of the employee at the initial stages can help the company to boost the motivation of
the employee for its longer and productive stay with the company.
Question 2
Discussing the potential impact of control on employee motivation and organizational success
Control implies positive impact over the motivation of employees working within the
organization. Through effective control on regular basis at essential steps of the company assures
that employees that the efforts made by them are on right track. Control evaluates the activities
within the organization. Evaluation of activities or processes within the organization ensures that
the work in the organization is going on properly. If the work or processes are not on right track
meaning if there is something that is deviating the potential results of the processes from the
desired results gets highlighted. The deviations due to any fault in the process can be detected
and corrected in the right time. Thus the process boosts the employee motivation
positively.employees (Dust And et.al., 2018). Motivated employees work better with increased
productivity. Hence, motivation of the employees means higher productivity and higher

productivity is linked with the organizational success. Higher the productivity of an organization
more the number of objectives achieve successfully by it, making the organization a successful
organization.
Control in a successfully managed organization
The good control within the organization is done aiming at the two factors that the
processes directs results towards the increasing contribution of the managers and secondly the
activities should be such that the results from it are capable enough in fairly compensating the
persons involved through out the process. Every department within the company should be
benefited with the right activities ensured by the effective control of the organization with
successful management. The one of the main reasons behind the working of every organization
us to earn profits. Thus the effective control is based on making the activities reach the situation
of good or maximum amount of profits earned by the company (Tse, To and Chiu, 2018). Thus a
simply way to analyze the control is through analysis of profitability of each department. In
successfully managed organizations the profitability of each department is controlled. Through
control the reason behind the low profitability or loss incurred by any of the department is
figured out. After the reason is pointed out the management brings about the strategies to correct
the processes aiming at making the department profitable. Control is done based on the financial
objectives of the company the outcomes or performance of the company is evaluated based on
the objective set in the financial objectives of the company.

Comparison between trait theory and functional theory
Leadership is defined as the ability of the individuals that used to influence and make the
follower to follow their leaders in the organization. There are various forms of the leadership
styles and theories which helps to have the smooth flow in the organization. The comparison
between the trait theory and functional theory is described below:
Trait theory: Trait theory is also called as the virtue theory of leadership. This theory is
the characteristics of the different types of leaders which includes both successful and
unsuccessful ones. Trait theory is basically based on the characteristics of the leaders in the
organization which helps to determine the effectiveness of the leadership. This theory used to
identify the important virtues related to the successfulness of the leaders (Jayawickreme, Zachry
and Fleeson, 2019). The core values of this theory incudes the emotional maturity, self-

confidence, honesty, achievements, leadership motivation, knowledge related to the business,
etc. These are not the only responsible in order to determine the effectiveness of the leadership.
This theory makes the managers to know about his strengths and weaknesses while teaching the
leaders about the leadership qualities. By having this theory it will help the leaders to know
about the understanding of the members in the organization.
Functional theory: The functional theory of the leadership is used to emphasize on the
organization or task that is being done rather than who has given the leadership role. In this
theory of the leadership it makes the person to know about that leadership does not rely on the
same person but changes on the behaviours by the group that helps them to get the things done.
The action- centred leadership used to focus on the three duties and responsibilities of the leaders
which helps them to achieve the project, manage the team and individuals as well. These all
actions in this leadership are dependent on each other (Verma and Truhlar, 2020.). In this
leadership theory the task is performed by the team not by the single person. The team can
achieve the excellent performances related to tasks if all the members are fully trained. By this it
used to motivate and challenge the employees in order to do work. This is one of the best model
of the leadership that helps the company to grow and gain the revenue. The functional theories
are basically developed by having the successful leaders by identifying the actions and
behaviours of the members.
