INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is considered as the procedure through which business organisation
expands their business at international scale. Globalisation has not only raised benefits and
opportunities for companies but it has also provided additional career growth opportunity for
employees. Along with this, it has also improved standard of living of customers too as this
concept have provided variety of products to customers at cheaper rates. The present report is
based on Nestle, a large scale food and drink company which is headquartered in Switzerland.
The company is offering its products at international scale. In relation to case study, it has been
analysed that management team of Nestle have developed its policy which mainly deals in
training, remuneration, development and recruitment. The company is already having remarkable
presence in international market but it still wants to enhance its presence in more effective
manner by adopting effective recruitment methods through which best talent can be brought to
company (Crane and Matten, 2016). In this regard, aim and objectives are formulated on the
basis of provided case scenario. At further, project management plan will going to be discussed
along with its all elements. It will also discuss on work breakdown structure and Gantt chart. At
last, it cover information on recommendation which will be provided to company for improving
its profitability and reflection on overall experience of researcher.
TASK 1
P1 Devise project aims and objectives for a chosen scenario
Globalisation is seen as the integration of businesses, companies and people. This
integration provides business opportunities to business organisation and develops overall
business growth. It can be said that globalisation have also influenced recruitment strategy
and pattern of company which helps them bringing best talent to company at reasonable
salary. In this regard, it can be said that if business organisation fails to recruit right people
from international scale that it will proven as riskier factor as they will be affected
financially. It will also affect brand image of company at global level and also waste their
time. The concept also helps company in maximising its profitability (Den Hertog, Van der
and De Jong, 2010) In context to mentioned case study on Nestle, it has been analysed that
this company is placing its efforts on modifying its recruitment pattern in order to bring
fresh talent to company. The management team of this company believes that if company

has right employee placed on right position than it will be easier for them in enhancing its
profitability. In this regard, management team of Nestle have initiated recruitment policy
which includes training and development, recruitment on the job, strong leadership and off
job training etc. in order to improve capabilities and efficiency of employees.
Background of research
Nestle is food manufacturing company which was incorporated 1905. The company
is very large in size as its number of employees are around 308,000. Product range of
Nestle includes Maggie, Kit Kat, tea, dairy products, bottled water, confectionery, baby food
and medical food. Global presence across the world influences top management team of
company to focus on maintaining its brand image so that trust of customers can be
maintained on them. For this, it required by human resource department to use latest
recruitment method for hiring best talent in order to achieve organisational objectives.
It has been analysed that currently Nestle is facing issues related to recruitment methods at
international level (Eckerson, 2010). In this regard, for improving its recruitment and
selection method, top management team of this company have conducted effective research
for identifying best recruitment methods, training and remuneration in order to maximise
profits of NESTLE. With reference to this, researcher have formulated effective aim and
objective which will help NESTLE in maximising its profitability ratio in effective manner
within less period of time.

The research aim for present study is “To determine how multinational companies
improve their recruitment, selection and training of their employees at global scale”
Research Objectives :

To evaluate different ways, through which Nestle can modify their recruitment, training
and selection of organisational staff at global scale.

Project management refers to the term of formal documentation which helps the leaders
and managers to in order to implement the projects and gain long term profit in a effective
manner. Project management run with the different elements like scope, plan, risk, schedule,
size, cost, scope and communication factors. This system also determines the formal
document which consists several functions such as combining, developing, explaining all
process in an effective manner (Gebauer, Edvardsson, and Bjurko, 2010). In regards with
Nestle, their managers and leaders have to follow various strategies for making project
management plan. That helps to achieve the goal and also helpful for preparing the best
decision making process in order to select appropriate customers for particular job profile.
There are various key factors of project management which are following as under:
Cost: It refers to the amount of money that an organisation spends on the creation of
production of goods and services. Cost does not include in a mark-up for profit. In regards
with Nestle, their managers and leaders prepare the budget and spend money on making the
new project in an appropriate manner. According to this company's managers or leaders
select various techniques and tools have used through the budget. Therefore, the estimation
of budget is necessary for making a new project and it helps in maximising the company's
value in a effective way. That's why researcher fixed the cost of recruitment process that
will be approx. 6000 pounds and cost for the company will be 150000 pounds.
Scope: It is an very important term for every firm because scope has the opportunity
or possibilities to do and deal with something in a effective manner. According to this firms
can make effective strategies and techniques for enhance the productivity of an organisation.
Therefore, by this approach company can easily take decision in order to make a comparison
in between contract, programs or employment and also can provide benefits to its
employees.

Time: It is a crucial factor in the form of completion the project. From this approach time
takes three or six months for completing the project. Basically time is totally based on the
features and specifications of project. In context of Nestle, their managers can take around three
months to complete their project whereas, researcher takes 50 days in order to making a project.
Quality: It shows the experience which is taken by the consumers. In regards with
Nestle, their managers have good skill of recruiting and selecting in order to hire good
candidate for suitable job profile in the company (Incelli, 2013). It will helpful approach for
increasing company's productivity and market value in a dynamic competitive environment.
Mangers of Nestle are able to analyse the different role and task to its employees. In order to
hiring the best candidate in their organisation, they can choose internal or external
environment for develop the efficiency of an organisation.
Communication: It is the very effective key within the organisation which is used to
exchange of ideas and thoughts of individuals. As it is an effective tool so that it is helpful to
communicate with employees in easy way for providing suggestions or various ways of
production. In context of Nestle, it is very helpful approach which reduce the problems and
issues from the way of communication. Through adopting good communication managers of
Nestle are easily able to explain their strategies and plan beyond the work to their employees
in order to gain objectives and goals in an effective manner.
Risk: It is a chance and threat of damages liability, losses or any other negative
occurrence that is the reason of internal or external weakness. In regards with Nestle, their
managers have the risk like if data is collected through the team members then it can create
the negative outcome that means unauthentic research is conducted. That's why managers
have to follow business ethics otherwise it can also give the outcome in a negative way.
Company also focuses on social factor that impact on the industry in order to achieve the
aim in an appropriate manner (Jones and Lubinski, 2012).
Resource: These are very important part of every firm that are required to
completion a project in an effective manner. In regards with Nestle, their managers are

Work breakdown Structure Work breakdown structure is a hierarchical structure that

Primary Research: It is a proprietary research, which means the data is collected
directly from the research are by the researcher. In the technically form they “ own” the data.
Primary research is comes with addressing a certain problems which is necessary for depth
analysis. In this research data is very much valuable than the other aspect. In the context of
organisation they need highly validated data to make good decisions ( Kankaanranta and
Planken, 2010). This research includes in various aspects like face to face interviews, online
surveys, focus on the group, observations.
Secondary Research: It is a research method that involves in using already existing data,
where existing data are collected to increase the overall efficiency or effectiveness of research.
Secondary research methods includes in data availability on the internet, government or non
government agencies, educational institutions and various commercial information sources like
newspapers, magazines, radio and T.V. In order to obtain data for secondary research.
Quantitative Research: It can be defined as the systematic investigation of
phenomenon by collecting quantifiable data and performing mathematical or computational
techniques. This research gathers information from potential or existing customers using

From the above research it has been identified that concept of globalization is having a
wider scope as it results in expanding business activities at a global scale by which firms can
easily enhance their sales and profitability index. It has also been identified that conducting
training and development activities are beneficial for employees as it results in making
employees familiar with the working environment by which productivity of firm can be
enhanced. This also results in improving quality of products as there are changes made in
products offered by firm according to the requirement of customers. Nestle is using strategies
like conducting training and development activities for employees, this results in improving their
performance and they can easily achieve their set business goals and targets thus enhancing their
profit. Nestle can make changes in their recruitment, training and selection of employees by
adopting new strategies by which they can recruit skill and talented employees who will develop
innovative ideas thus expanding their business activities. The firm can also adopt online source
of recruiting employees by which they can select talented employees who will increase
productivity of firm.

P7 Reflection
Throughout my overall journey of this research on Nestle, I have experienced many
phases. Some of them were very good but at the same time some among them have made
me learnt numerous of things. At the starting stage of this research, I thought that my work
on this research will going to be easy as Nestle is one among popular company who is
known by every one. In actuality actuality, it was very difficult for me because international
recruitment information was not an easy task. All of my experience have made me learnt
many things. On the basis of my evaluation, it has been analysed by me that I have
improved my communication, confidence, professional skills and many other important one.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it has been concluded that company have to face various difficult
situations, in order to manage a business project in a successful or effective manner. On the other
hand, this project report also includes the concept of globalisation. By approaching external
